Sounds like a ramping up of testing?
However, of course, much of India is densely populated with many poor and restricted accessibility to water. Just supplies of clean water, soap and education would be very helpful. Moo.

It took more than five months for India to reach the bleak milestone of 1 million cases of the novel coronavirus.

The next million came in just 21 days.

The third million was faster still: 16 days.

This week, India recorded the highest one-day jump in new cases - more than 77,000 - (more than) anywhere in the world since the pandemic began.

.... the country will shortly overtake Brazil, putting it second to the United States in total cases.

Yes, I imagine the simple act of social distancing is virtually impossible in their huge and overcrowded slum areas.
I also read that they are trying to re-open the economy right now, and that is leading to a lot of virus spread.

Plus, they are in monsoon season now, so are experiencing mudslides and flooding.

Amplifying their efforts in the fight against COVID19, Red Cross Punjab has installed the first hand washing kiosk under the TB project, 'Prevention & Management of Tuberculosis including MDR-TB,' in the district of Jalandhar. Besides, a foot operated hand washing kiosk has also been installed in Amritsar. This initiative will enable vulnerable sections such as TB patients to practice frequent hand washing and keep safe from COVID19. Several such kiosks will be installed at multiple locations across the project areas in the State.

You are correct about difficulty accessing clean water and soap. However, Indian people in my experience understand germ theory better than many people in the US who could use a little education themselves - some of whom exercise mighty power over decisions involving public health, with scant qualifications.

Anti-mask and anti-lockdown protests in Europe, including in the U.K. and Germany, with growing anti-mask sentiment reported in France.

Amid fears of a second wave of the coronavirus outbreak in Europe, hundreds gathered Sunday in the Spanish capital of Madrid and Belgian capital of Brussels in protest against the mandatory wearing of masks and other restrictions imposed in both countries to help curb the spread of the virus.

Hundreds of Spaniards clapping and chanting "freedom" rallied at Madrid's Plaza de Colón on Sunday, holding signs that read "The virus does not exist" and "Masks kill" and "We are not afraid," Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported.

he wears a mask when we go out shopping and such, but he will definitely not wear a mask when he is golfing. no way.

Soooo,,,what happens if you won’t get within six or eight feet of him without wearing a mask yourself? What happens if you refuse to serve him dinner on a plate without putting on disinfectant sprayed gloves? What happens if you refuse to sleep in the same bed,,,,share a bathroom pick up and wash his dirty clothes etc, Actually they say up here
( Canada) that golf is pretty safe as the players are usually distanced, but that it’s the clubhouse or restaurant afterwards that can be a problem. My DH is pretty good I have to admit,,,,little thanks to me but when he saw his younger brother freaking out and going “mega careful” he caught on and decided that I wasn’t to be ignored. Still as careful as he is when we go out somewhere, I have caught him out on our road getting closer and closer to one neighbour or another while chatting,,,,no mask,,,,he forgets because he’s rather hard of hearing. When that happens I’m like “ don’t come near me for two weeks” and blow him a goodnight kiss from a distance ( without the actual blowing) . Hes getting there!

I have to say I feel for your husband. I have been known to forget and sit right next to a friend if I find her sitting on a bench on our beachside path were we both walk for exercise. I just forget for a moment.

18,000 demonstrators protesting coronavirus restrictions in Germany

German Chancellor Merkel urges vigilance as thousands gather to protest pandemic restrictions: reports

I also saw that France is having large demonstrations against coronavirus restrictions, will try to find a link, it was on the news earlier this evening. Showed demonstrators waving masks around in protest of a mandate to wear masks in public.
They could be waving much more dangerous things around than masks as we have seen. What danger do you see in waving masks around?

Yes,,Lol I have forgotten occasionally myself and can’t blame it on a hearing problem. Surprisingly despite the Covid stress, hubs and I have never gotten along better, which totally amazes me. We are six months now of basically just the two of us...day in and day out. We are older,,,neither of us currently working ( he used to be gone working too much) and I think this stay at home together stuff has made us realize that we have a lot in common,,,think alike,,,enjoy discussing and sharing the same news articles, enjoying a lot of the same travel documentaries etc. Without the stresses of him working we actually laugh a lot more. I’ve only had one day in the six months where I even thought that he’d better smarten up or I might get my own place. There are other friends, relatives and acquaintances though who like someone said,,,We will be in no great hurry to see again. Very different views that we never realized before. Covid is a game changer I think in realizing what is important.

I think the point is that the mask-wavers are deliberately not wearing them and openly defying French law or policy.

The danger is that people will get CoVid, due to waving masks instead of wearing them.

The point is not about going to these events, its about what do people do AFTER the event?

If someone wants to go to a crowded event without masks and social distancing then have at it but then stay the heck away from everyone else afterward for 14 days.

Lock yourself away. Get tested. No one has a right to go to these events then go to Aunt Em's house without telling her where you just were, or go into public places without a mask, or invite people over who don't know where you have been.

The moral obligation is to quarantine yourself and get tested after going to these events, and to tell others where you have been etc....

Be reckless with your own health if you so choose, but afterward leave the rest of us alone. Someone is going to get seriously sued one of these days.

All Opinion.

One proviso: don't go to hospitals or CoVid wards, either - as hundreds of medical personnel worldwide have died and we can't keep up with replacing them or risking their lives.

Don't risk the health of healthcare providers, either.

They are not waving guns around as some people are.

That's not what you asked about. Is there a reason you think guns belong in this conversation about masks and CoVid protests?

I cant get that because I am in Europe. Can you tell me what it is about?

The guy showed up for jury duty not wearing a state mandated mask. The judge told him, wear a mask, wear a face shield or be jailed for 24 hours for contempt of court. He made some excuses and told the judge that the judge didn't have authority to make him wear a mask. He was told it wasn't just for him, it was for others' safety as well.

He was then jailed for 24 hours, in a jail that was having a covid outbreak. When the inmates asked him why he was in jail, he told them 'for not wearing a mask'. The inmates all laughed at him.

If his concern was truly only about feeling like a mask impaired his breathing, then the offered option to wear a face shield instead would have solved his problem.

But once he starts in with telling the judge "you don't have the authority to make me", then I think he has just turned it into a different, politicized sort of problem.
