The wallet-sized vaccination cards will come with the coronavirus vaccination kits sent out from Operation Warp Speed, according to the US Department of Defense. The cards will be printed in both English and Spanish.

When you receive your first shot, the following information will be on the coronavirus vaccination card.
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Your patient number
  • The vaccine you received -- either Moderna or Pfizer
  • The date you received the first and second vaccine
  • Where you were vaccinated -- for example, a hospital or clinic

.... if you receive the Pfizer vaccine in the first shot, you'll need to receive the Pfizer vaccine in the second shot. The same goes with the Moderna vaccine, since the two aren't interchangeable, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (PDF). This is because, while the two vaccines use the same technology that focuses on the mRNA of the virus, they're developed differently.

My county:/
"We have over 260,000 cases and fall behind Cook County where Chicago is located and Los Angeles County in California
Maricopa County ranks 3rd in the nation for confirmed COVID-19 cases

Also near me:
"Valleywise Health has hit 100% of its ICU capacity..."
Valleywise Health hits ICU bed capacity amid COVID-19 surge

(Valleywise Health hospital is in Phoenix, and back in the day, and where I am from originally, (literally the middle of nowhere in Kansas), this type of hospital would be called a county hospital, meaning people who have nowhere else to go, can go to the Valleywise facility)
So it's not that there are no hospitals in the Phoenix area with Covid-19 ICU capacity, but not necessarily one that will provide care to anyone, no questions asked, so to speak

The Sun newspaper has released leaked audio of "Mission: Impossible 7" producer and star Tom Cruise shouting at crew members outside of London in an expletive-filled tirade, purportedly for breaking COVID-19 set safety protocols.

The Sun reported the outburst on the set in Leavesden, England, started in front of the crew of 50 after Cruise saw two crew members standing too close to one another in front of a computer screen.

Cruise then told the crew, "If I see you do it again you’re (expletive) gone. And if anyone on this crew does it, that’s it – and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever (expletive) do it again."

"You can tell it to the people who are losing their (expletive) homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education. That’s what I sleep with every night - and the future of this (expletive) industry," Cruise fumed in the leak. "So I’m sorry, I am beyond your apologies. I have told you, and now I want it, and if you don’t do it, you’re out. We are not shutting this (expletive) movie down! Is it understood? If I see it again, you’re (expletive) gone."

Gov. Gavin Newsom of California said the state was preparing for bleak days to come: The state has ordered an extra 5,000 body bags, activated a mutual aid network for morgues and coroner’s offices, and stationed 60 refrigerated storage units in counties around the state to handle remains.

The governor said he didn’t want the news of those preparations to cause panic, “but I think I have an obligation to share it.”

Over the past week, he said, California has reported an average of 163 deaths a day from Covid-19 — four times the average daily toll of a month ago. And the outlook is worsening.

More than 10 percent of coronavirus tests in California over the past two weeks have come back positive, the highest rate since April, when testing was not widespread. More than 260,000 people are now being tested for the virus in California on an average day.

Vaccination will soon allow the thousands of frontline health care workers to escape the stress hanging over every interaction with their loved ones, Mr. Newsom said, and those workers will have a crucial role to play as hospitals continue to fill.

“These are the folks we’re going to count on the most,” he said.

California braces for grim days ahead

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, said it was his “strong recommendation” that President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris receive a Covid-19 vaccine quickly.

“For security reasons, I really feel strongly that we should get them vaccinated as soon as we possibly can,” he said on “Good Morning America” Tuesday. “You want him fully protected as he enters into the presidency in January.”

“I want to just make sure we do it by the numbers,” Mr. Biden said. “When I do it, you’ll have notice and we’ll do it publicly.”

From the above article I posted....
“Among other concerns, Yeadon and Wodart warn that some of the vaccines may prevent the safe development of placentas in pregnant women, resulting in “vaccinated women essentially becoming infertile.”
This would be awful!!!
A whole generation of infertility won’t be good.

I've been looking forward to a vaccine to stop this pandemic but a lot of what I've heard in the past few days makes me wonder if they're rushing it a bit too fast.

Everyone wants to be able to go out freely again and wants life to get back to normal, but I'd hate for there to be any long-term side effects like that.

With so many different vaccines, how do we know which ones are the safest? Do we even get a choice?

I wonder which vaccine Biden and Harris will get? I think that's the one I will want.

I would think those two would receive the safest and most effective vaccine. I'm down the list a ways, but my mom, being in her 80s should be within a couple of months I should think. Maybe by then we'll have more data on side effects from specific vaccines.

I hope.

In interviews Tuesday, six vaccinated frontline workers said they had no significant side effects.

Fernando Pires, a 60-year-old maintenance worker who cleans rooms in the emergency department at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, said he was not feeling anything other than a lot of pain in his arm. It was a small annoyance, he said.

At Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, Dr. Mercy Dickson, a 35-year-old emergency medicine resident, said she was feeling good, even after working night shifts before and after receiving the vaccine.
“I have a little bit of soreness on my right arm where I got the shot,” she said. “But otherwise, I feel as I felt before.”

Luciana Thornton, a pharmacist at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kan., said she was surprised by how good she felt the day after receiving her shot, given what she had read about the vaccine’s potential side effects.

“Some people have fever or chills, and I have had none of that,” she said. “A lot of people I’ve talked to feel pretty good. Some people have had headaches. I feel a lot better than I expected to.”

A day after vaccination, these early recipients felt little more than a sore arm

Sharon Osbourne tests positive for COVID-19

Sharon Osbourne says she has tested positive for coronavirus and is now recovering after a brief stay in hospital.

She said she was also isolating away from her husband of nearly 40 years, rock star Ozzy Osbourne, following the COVID-19 diagnosis.

“Sharon is the second of host from The Talk to contract the virus, after presenter and dancer Carrie Ann Inaba announced she had tested positive just a few days ago.”

Wonder if they were masking and social distancing during filming the show. (Nope)
Probably relying on the rapid test method?

I’ve wondered about this. Do we know why they can’t be from two different manufacturers? I don’t know of any other vaccines where this is an issue at all, so it’s curious that it would be an issue with this one.

Different target sites for their vaccines on the spike area of the virus. You need to do x2 on the same site to "boost". MOO

More reasons such as how were approved and need to keep to the protocols that were approved. There will be future studies I've read, but for now... think of that as the #1 reason.

:D

Someone upthread told me that each state tracks immunizations. I looked up for my state and got a copy. It's REQUIRED to be reported immediately the COVID vaccines, (for most states since the 90's?) and all hospitals and pharmacies can "see" your records on site prior to injections.

Can you be more specific to address? What have you heard in the past few days specifically to wonder if they are rushing it a bit too fast so others can assist in adressing your specific concern vs broad stroke that we haven't already addressed in the threads as we've talked about so much?
