It's a good thing that you are here with us and see that those concerns could be baseless?

I too don't know how to react to folks who don't want to discuss and challenge others respectfully as we do here. e.g. the vaccines specifically state not for pregnant women, so where do folks say "they plan on giving this to pregnant women". There was a small number who got pregnant with the studies... but where are you seeing such exclamation.

Yes, even Fauci said best to work around vaccine and getting infected as he doesn't want it thrown back. But with an mRNA.. as the first two are... it never gets inside the DNA of the mother as some that are upcoming are.

As to loss of limbs with babies, are they talking about the 1950's drug?
Their emphasis does seem to be towards risks during pregnancy. This is what I found about vaccines in general:

Pregnant women have been given vaccines for decades, she says, with few issues. "We don't generally give live viral vaccines in pregnancy because there's theoretical risk that the live virus could be passed and it infects the fetus," Jamieson says. "But with the exception of smallpox vaccines, there really have been very few problems with vaccines."

I was listening to the radio on the way to work yesterday ... they were discussing most googled items in 2020.

One of the things was "what day is it". Googled more times than any other year. I am presuming that is due to lockdowns and people losing track of the days.

Users broke records for the number of times “what day is it?” was searched for in a year.

So far, so good that the mutations aren't affecting the spike protein yet. In the future, who knows.

In the early days we followed the mutations as they happened here at WS..it was so interesting to follow how each mutation was followed with clades to see where each mutation spread to (new word for me for 2020!) but then was sooooooo confusing to follow as we moved into April/May/June. @margarita25 , I don't even have the original link anymore on my bookmark, perhaps you do?

Also thalidomide.
My friends mom took it in Germany in 1968 for hyperemisis gravidarium.
Luckily, she is fine!

am sure they are keeping close tabs on reactions at this point- still collecting data. would not want for a person to have a reaction and not know why.
In my practice we had to fill out a "VAERS" form and submit to the CDC.
In 20 years, I filled out TWO.
To my knowledge none of our 20,000 patients were ever seriously harmed or died from any vaccine.
One, was pulled for a short time. It was the Rotaviris vaccine. It, at the time, was a live virus.
One of the VAERS I filled out was on an infant that got intussuseption from it.
I'll spare you on what that is. You can Google it.
The infant was treated and recovered fully.

when I get a flu vaccine, not from my dr., I am issued a paper with the date, vaccine, lot#, manufacturer, who administered it, etc. If there were something wrong with the vaccine, there is a record of everything.

I sometimes get it at drugstore and sometimes at my dr. - neither one issues anything paper - it's all stored electronically

my neck of the woods - I'm so worried guys ... for all of us

The CEO of Ontario Health is calling on hospitals in the province to be ready to activate their surge capacity plans within 48 hours as a spike in COVID-19 cases threatens the health-care system’s ability to care for patients effectively.

Wow. We just got ours (for the first time in years). We got nuthin. No papers or record. I was so focused on avoiding close conversations with the staff that I didn't even think about it.

For Mickey:

LENA, Mont. - Republican state lawmakers in Montana rejected proposals Wednesday by Democrats to require masks at next month's legislative session or meet remotely, opting instead to form a panel that will assess what's needed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Mike Rooney, operations director for Downtown Helena Inc., said during the meeting that mask wearing is crucial for the survival of the city's downtown businesses.

"Everybody there is telling me to wear a mask because they don't want the dictator that is your health officer to shut their restaurants down."

Gianforte, who prior to the November election was seen in close proximity with supporters without wearing a mask, has said he would wear a mask in the capitol.

We have 1% of our ICU beds available here in my city (so...like 2 beds). We have 3% of other beds available. There are three nursing strikes already voted on within our region and 4 more hospital nurse associations about to vote on a walk-out.

It is very grim. People are waiting outside the hospital in cars and ambulances for up to 4 hours. Fortunately, one of our local hospitals recently expanded (and is going to be able to staff 6 more ICU beds by Monday). We're calling upon retired nurses, moving student nurses into LVN positions in care homes, and moving LVN's and CRN's into regular hospital wards. It's always a problem (getting nurses), but we have had some die and some out on COVID disability with serious lung/kidney issues. And a lot of nurses have just plain quit.

They say it's going to get worse for the next 3-4 weeks, peaking sometime after Christmas. On top of that, people seem to need to speed in their cars and get into bad accidents.

1 in 80 people have COVID-19 in L.A. County, which reports highest number of deaths since pandemic began

A record number of COVID-19 deaths were reported in Los Angeles County on Wednesday, as well as an overwhelming amount of cases in the midst of intensive care units statewide slipping to just 1.7% remaining capacity.

One in 80 people in the county, the nation's most populous, have the disease, officials said.

At a press briefing Wednesday, health officials announced 131 new deaths, the most ever recorded since the start of the pandemic, and 21,411 new coronavirus cases , including a backlog of about 7,000 late test results.

I remember as a child getting a polio vaccine at school. We had so much gratitude. No more polio! There wasn't a "choice". Everyone got one.

So, I guess that I don't understand when the United States made this abrupt turn, away from vaccines.

As for the stupid legislators in Montana who won't wear a mask, it is just arbitrary people who don't want to be told what to do...these are the same folks who were against laws on public smoking, seat belt safety, and a host of other laws that have made our country a safer, better place to live. Of course they don't want to wear a mask. It is against their "beliefs". o_O

I am surprised how low Vermont's positive count has been. I know there is not very many people in Vermont but it borders on two states that have been hot spots.

I remember those vaccines too. They were administered through what looked like a hand gun and the needle was as thick as a 3/8 inch drill bit. I was trembling.
