Massachusetts now has 5 cases of the UK COVID variant, CDC confirms
In Massachusetts there are now five cases of the COVID variant that first emerged in the United Kingdom and has spread to different parts of the world, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Department of Public Health told the Boston Globe that one case of the new strain was found in a male in his 20s from Hampshire County; a male in his teens from Worcester County; a female in her 20s from Suffolk County; a female in her 50s from Worcester County; and a male in his 20s from Worcester County. Three of the five cases involved travel, health officials said.
the CDC does break out for each state the variants and their # of cases found. hope that the numbers do not get so great that they stop counting. I remember when cases and deaths were in single or double digits and then all [expletive deleted] broke loose and the numbers went too high for contact tracing in most places...
