Is everyone celebrating with heading to Krispy Kreme donuts to get your free donut? I get my second shot on Tuesday, and on my way home, will be getting mine as I've already scoped out the location near where I will get my shot!

Free Krispy Kreme vaccine doughnuts are really happening. How to get one every single day

I'd love to but NO Krispy Kremes in this town or area. Also, no Dunkin' Donuts, either.

Something happened and they went out of business and out of our groceries as well. Probably a decade ago or more. I could cry, as doughnuts fix everything. :)

I hope everyone else gets one ( or more) :)

My turn to chime in :)
I've been back to work full time since June, 2020, working with the public at a very popular tourist location in Central Kentucky. I've lived within a "triangle" of sorts, driving from home to work to Kroger. And that's about it.

I am amazed that I didn't get COVID from visitors to my workplace, who had no problem traveling from many states away to enjoy what we offer. I have to admit that I was cursing some of them.... Silently, lol

A large building on our property became a mass vaccination site in February, so I've been watching thousands of cars coming and going each day, waiting for my turn.

I received my second dose of the Pfizer vax on April 1. Same arm as last time, and I rubbed the injection site as well. After dose 1, I think I may have had a very slight ache in my neck, but it was probably just my imagination ;)

After 2nd dose, pretty much ZERO side effects. Injection site is tender if I poke it, so I don't poke it, lol:)

I'm over 50 and blood type O+

Second Moderna last Wednesday. Very sore arm with both. I felt like 2nd dose side effects were about 2x the first. Watery eyes, headaches, bone aches, kidney pain, very tired and chills. The hubs got 2nd at same time and ran 101 temp as well.

I’m a bit worried about my arm as it developed a red area about the size of my hand that has seem to darken. I am 4 full days post vaccine and it shows no signs of going away. Feeling a bit winded today as well. Not sure why.

Thanks! I was aware of the side effect but had also read of some getting antibiotics for cellulitis.
My arm was sore a few hours after injection and the redness was not very delayed either. By the next day it was swollen, hard, and red and tender. The swelling and tenderness has dissipated but the redness has gradually intensified from the first day. I’ll be watching and snapping pics daily just to confirm with my doc.

Glad that you are now fully vaccinated. I think there is such a thing as luck, both good and bad, and you were lucky to have avoided the virus. I feel like my husband and I were lucky as well- many people got it and could not figure out how they got it. At the beginning of the pandemic nobody wore masks: we went to the grocery store with no masks, or to Walmart. We could have easily gotten it then. I am just so grateful we didn't. Good luck to you.

I hear ya!!! I think lots of people broke down and cried with gratitude: I know I did, especially now with the variants and the surges. I am in Michigan which is now called the epicenter of the infection: i cannot believe it. I mean we are not nearly as open as Florida-- how did it happen in Michigan? For the life of me I cannot figure it out.

Has anyone here, or do you know of anyone who was given a choice of what vaccine they wanted? I'm just curious about whether or not a particular facility offers more than one vaccination option.
I'm finally eligible and when I signed up this weekend for my appointment, certain locations noted the name of the vaccine while others did not. I selected a location offering J&J -- sure hope I get the one and done!

What is a vaccine passport and will you need one to travel? (detroitnews.com)

When travelers venture back out, many — especially those flying overseas — will need to manage new requirements to prove they’ve tested negative for COVID-19 or received a vaccine.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its guidance to say fully vaccinated people can travel within the U.S. without getting tested for the coronavirus or going into quarantine afterward.

But travel industry trade groups, airlines and other organizations are developing so-called vaccine passports to make it easier to navigate changing rules. Most are in early stages or only used in certain destinations, though their creators say they are working to expand use. What’s less clear is whether any will emerge as a standard accepted broadly worldwide.

In the mean time, here’s what you need to know...

My daughter’s boyfriend is getting the J&J vaccine on Friday. Rite Aid has a link and lists the different vaccines available at each store. He specifically wanted J&J “one and done” so he can continue to travel without quarantining (that’s their job) so he stalked the Twitter bot for openings and was able to get the appointment.

Yes - I'm also getting J&J at RiteAid. My doctor advised that I could safely resume my work travel (after a year delay) two weeks after the vaccine. I'm not personally ready for air travel so local travel is fine by me! :)

Same. I helped my daughter search this past weekend and we found a several RiteAids in Manhattan that had a bunch of appointments right away. The vaccine finder (find appointments in your area) led to RiteAid link.

She booked one for this Wednesday and it is J&J, which is just fine by her. Easy too, as it's easy for her to get to going to and coming home from her workplace.

My son and DIL also received first doses yesterday (yes Easter Sunday) on Long Island, at Stony Brook U, I believe. Once NY lowered age to 30, they jumped on it. I'm beyond relieved.

My husband and I met my sister on the boardwalk yesterday afternoon and stopped at a bar/restaurant. We had our shots and she had her first.

We were thrilled, first time in over a year we were able to relax, eat, drink, and listen to live music.

I went for an outdoor walk with a friend this weekend - both masked and first-dosed vaxed. It was the first social outing I've had outside my bubble in over a year and I was absolutely GIDDY for hours and hours afterwards.

Be prepared for a big change if and when you do travel by air again.
Business travelers are few now. Limited food options at airports. Very limited drink options on flights especially food/snacks.
Incredible amounts of families traveling by air.

Be prepared for delays when someone won’t pull up their mask or keep it on when sitting at the gate waiting to push back.

In our area we sort of were. My hubby, and I could have chosen to go into the adjoining county to the hospital there. They are giving the Pfizer doses.

We decided to go to our own county health department where they are administering the Moderna doses. The nurses there are excellent even though neither of us had ever gone to the HD before. We were very pleased getting both doses there.

However, we never had any preferences of which one we wanted. We were just happy to get vaccinated, and feel much safer now after doing so.

48 hours post second shot. Arm barely sore this morning. Hoping I’ve escaped the side effects.
