I have SO wanted to go for sushi. But, here in So. California I can't find anyone serving. Take out is just not the same imo. Fully vaccinated for 3 weeks now.

I hope you get to enjoy sushi very soon. In Michigan, restaurants have been closed for indoor dining off & on since March, 2020. Restaurants were open in late spring/summer with capacity restrictions and curfews. Outdoor dining is limited in Michigan, but some restaurants were able to accommodate limited outdoor guests. During the times when indoor dining was not permitted, most restaurants remained open for takeout, but some were forced to close permanently due to lack of business. Due to a surge in cases, restaurants closed again in the fall and remained closed through the holiday season, reopening with capacity restrictions and curfews in early February. I don't think there will be any more closures, but capacity restrictions will likely continue for a while. Dining out is one of DH and my favorite pastimes, and we are happy to be able to enjoy dinners out occasionally once again. We have a favorite restaurant (Italian) that we truly missed during the closures, and we hope to make up for the many times that we would have had dinner there. I sincerely hope that it won't be too long before you can have sushi at your favorite restaurant :)

The day after I received the first dose of Astra-Zeneca vaccine, I felt pretty awful. Feverish, chills, nausea, headache (sound familiar ?)
The next day I was back to normal. Now three days after, my arm doesn't hurt anymore either.

Cases are sky-rocketing where I live (Ontario) so I'm glad I was able to get vaccinated even though AZ was not my first (or second) choice.

I can’t imagine paying an administrative fee when every place I’ve heard of has no charge at all.
My pharmacist administered my vaccines. All the pharmacist did that day was administer vaccines. A tech called to schedule the appts., helped each individual fill out forms, and escorted each person in. Another pharmacist needed to work filling prescriptions. I can see charging a fee. I have insurance and it was billed.

WA Gov will announce Monday if rollbacks to phase II required after breakthrough and/or rise in cases. I also attribute some of this to the Easter holiday -- an increase in gatherings.

Day 3 since my J & J vaccine -- nothing adverse to report.

There is a cost to administer, paperwork, reporting, medical personnel, etc. The US government purchased the vaccine, but someone has to bear the cost of giving the jab.
Without a fee, private pharmacies, hospitals, medical practices would not be signing up to be a provider. Its always involved money.
All providers including HDs, state agencies and private providers must sign the CDC contract in order to receive the vaccine. The fee is included in the contract and paid by the federal government.
The link gives an overview and the contract can be downloaded.

I wasn’t disputing that. Just saying, why would you get your vaccine at a provider who charges the recipient a fee when most places are not and there are now many of those to choose from. I can understand someone being so attached to their doctor that they would, not other than that.

What will pharmacy partners charge for COVID-19 vaccine?

COVID-19 vaccine is free of charge for everyone. Participating pharmacies will bill private and public insurance for the vaccine administration fee. For uninsured patients, this fee will be reimbursed through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Provider Relief Fund. No one will receive a bill for a COVID-19 vaccine.Feb 12, 2021

The large vaccine sites are paid on a cost basis, by the federal government. I helped my county and a few doctors offices with the application process. (Love a good government contract application with lots of jargon). Large community vaccine sites are paid more than the 14.00 per dose fee. Its my understanding working with the application the cost for distribution, and administering the jab, is paid from the funds approved by Congress, under CARES ACT and the last relief bill.

Pharmacies, medical practices bill insurance, if available, or bill the feds for the fee. The large vaccine sites complete paperwork for cost of the clinic and are reimbursed.

There is an administration fee paid every dose, many times the cost is hidden from public view unless using the pharmacy program.

Hi everyone. I’ve been away from COVID threads for a while and apologize that this has probably already been discussed a length. I received my second Moderna vaccine yesterday and today I have sinus pressure and my nose is running. It feels like a head cold, allergies or sinus infection. The googling I’ve done consistently says a runny nose is NOT a vaccine side effect, but given the timing of symptom onset I can’t help thinking in my case it may be. Has anyone else had or heard of someone having these symptoms after their Moderna Vaccine?

I just did a quick google search and found plenty of sites that say runny nose can be a side effect of Moderna. (I'm not a medical person, just a googler.)

Thank you! I really did google too. Probably looked at 10 sites. You’re a much better Googler than me.

Depends on where you live, some people had to figure which sites were doable.

Choice A- drive 70 miles one way to a mega drive up arena/stadium site where you sit in a long line of cars, trying to figure out if there is a port-a-potty(!) and how to navigate heavy traffic in a unknown part of town. Add elderly parents with health issues....logistical headache.

Choice B - drive 10-15 miles to Walgreens/CVS/grocery store pharmacy where you can walk in and only 2-4 people in line. But you have to provide your ID and insurance card.

None of the doctor’s offices got the vaccine.

Just because it’s advertised that “everyone” can get the vaccine now - doesn’t mean that every county in every state has tons of time slots at multiple places to choose from.

I drove seven hours one way- twice to get my shots. That was before they opened AL up. There are plenty within close distance here now.

I had sinus pressure so bad I broke down and took my Zyrtec. I was trying not to take anything.

Our tree pollen is very extremely high right now so I can honestly say that I had these symptoms before and after my vaccine. In my case, they're definitely spring allergies! I also took Zyrtec today (after waiting two days) after the vaccine. :)

I didn't even consider not taking my Zyrtec post vaccine. *think think*..... will continue taking as I've never heard not to and is such a common drug that I think we would have heard a contraindication by now.

I wouldn't be able to breathe and my eyes and nose would be faucets right now. I take daily during pollen season.

I also take Zyrtec daily during the spring/summer months. However, since rashes have been associated with the vaccine and for which antihistamines (Zyrtec, Benadryl, etc.,) recommended, I personally suspended my use until I was comfortable that I had no adverse effects to my vaccine.

And I've already resumed my daily doseage...

Ok, I will stop whining about having to drive four hours tomorrow for a vaccine, after volunteering all day today at our local clinic which is in walking distance of my house.

Actually, I will whine a bit more. The driving! Sheesh!

I am grateful that I can have my second vaccination and will shut up about the drive because so many others don't have access to vaccinations yet.

Wow! I think I remember you talking about AL and having to drive a long ways. I’m glad you got it!
My dad was too frail to go that far, I’m driving about 4.5 hours to get mine this weekend. Yippee!

I have spring and fall allergies. We'd had so much rain, the sun popped out the day I got the second jab and of course, all the pollen.
