Criminal Defense Attorney for Casey - Linda Kenney Baden

  • #41
Well. I spent all of yesterday glued to the TV in disbelief. After hearing NG ask, "Where is Caylee?" for five months, and then this discovery yesterday morning, I feel sick. I guess I knew this was coming but the truth seems to be worse than I had even guessed. It's very sickening and truly sad.
As far as Linda Kenney-Baden, I think this woman did an excellent job in the Spector trial. I liked her the entire time. It saddens me to think she might join Casey's defense team.
I have no more words today.

WHO is paying for Linda Kenney Baden? The A's cant afford her going rate, Im sure.. is she doing this pro bono?

Are you kidding? This is the crime of the DECADE! Money is the least of her worries. I'm sure there are lots of criminal attorneys out there who would give their right arm for a case of this magnitude.

All I want for Christmas is for KC's fingerprints to be found on that duct tape b/c that would blow the "some other dude did it" defense; then it's bye-bye zanny and hello KC!

Linda Kenney Baden is on Court tv this morning. LOL

Since they hired her immediately that is very telling to me!

Okay - we know that "Criminal Defense Attorneys" are expensive - considerably more expensive than attornies practicing most any other area of law. They make the big bucks - and the bigger the name they have made for themselves - the more they command.

Casey has a team of legal advocates representing her. In addition to her legal team - famed forensic "experts" as in Dr. Henry Lee and Dr. Lawrence Kobilinsky (Nancy Grace regular) have both been engaged by Baez regarding the forensics. With Linda Kenney Baden coming onboard today to also represent Casey - IMO, it's only a matter of time before her hubby, Dr. Michael Baden finds his way onto *Team Casey* - or becomes a designated mouthpiece for them on the cable talk show circuit. (Greta, Nancy, Jane Velez Mitchell, Larry King, the network & cable morning shows, etc)

Then, of course, the Senior Anthonys, Cindy & George, are now represented by their 2nd Criminal Defense Attorney. (And have a rather strange *spokesperson*.)

Where do these rather arrogant people with their obnoxious self-serving behavior and no money to speak of - afford these expensive advocates?

Who is paying for all of this???? Where is it coming from?

Neither of the Anthony grandparents have worked for quite some time. They were already in financial trouble before Caylee & Casey disappeared last June. Now .. Casey is incarcerated - hasn't worked for over 2 years - has no money of her own and steals to obtain her funds when she is out on the loose.

I don't get it. Expensive lawyers & experts - mortgage & monthly bills to pay ... where is the money coming from?

Any thoughts on this - or perhaps, how you think Linda Baden will fit in with Casey & Jose?

Rummy :cat:

When you stop to figure this out, the answer seems to be right in front of us..the problem is NO PROOF...

In the past when I have seen, even locally, people that are able to have this type of defense the answer goes back to looking at associates of the people being accused of the crimes. IF we knew exactly what Casey was involved with and/or "who"....we might find the answers.:waitasec:

Secondly, now with Linda Baden on the defense team this has taken Dr. Baden off the list for the prosecution for an expert forensics witness. JB may not be as innocently naive as we think... JMO

I think Dr. Baden had already been hired by the defense awhile ago...because every time I saw him on NG she prefaced his appearance by saying he was hired by the defense (she never was too happy about that). I think he might have done some forensics on the car.

Having first hand knowledge of a family member being represented with a felony obstruction charge and 1 expert was over $150,000. Not pocket change and really took a toll. Add up the list of experts that was rattled off during pre-trial hearing by Kenny-Baden or do we now say LKB. Not everyone will do pro bono work.

I've been thinking about LKB joining this defense teams for awhile and amazing at it is, yet again, Jose' Baez has shown just how incompetent he truly is.

It's now all about smoke and mirrors now, huh? Jose', you are NOTHING but a wannabe. You've been handed the trial of the decade and instead of standing up to take the lead and making a name for yourself (or a lack theorof), you're bringing in all these hired guns that are nothing more than has beens. If you happen to read this and truly want a high profile, yet fantastic attorney, maybe you could look up, Thomas Mesereau. At least he's got true brilliance on his side. I doubt he's licensed in Florida, but he's brilliant nonetheless.

Of course, LKB is definitely a better choice than you are. Of course, she can babysit Casey all day in the courtroom, too. So you get multi talented abilities for one low, low, price.

Oh, and if you think it's no one's business where the money is coming from to foot this defense, I think you're in for a long shock once those types of questions are asked of your experts. While it may not be my personal business, it is the court's business. Especially, how much it's taking to buy their testimoney.

OMG! Dr. Baden's WIFE????

Dr. Baden has been on TV just yesterday not talking too favorably about Casey's defense! He was talking about the treasure trove of evidence in connection with the black plastic trash bag the remains were found in and also about possible evidence on the duct tape!

I did notice the Miss Linda has gotten a great face lift.

I think you're thinking of Kobe, or Dr. Lawrence Kobilinsky.

I would hope after the conflict of interest presented in the first Phil Spector trail that no one would hire the husband/wife duo again.

Maybe dr.Baden.....again?
They made fools out of themselves in the Spector trial.

Can someone tell me how Ms. Baden can take a case in Florida? Did she pass the bar there?

That's not necessarily true. 10 jurors thought that Phil Spector was guilty. One had no spine and could sway either way. Then we had the jury foreman, Ben. After the trial was over, Ben couldn't tells us why he believed PS was innocent. We also know that Ben lived right down the street from Phil Spector. We also know that Bruce Cutler (John Gotti's attorney) was brought on board, and since he offered the defense NOTHING, we're left asking, why the need for Cutler? We do know too that a juror on the Gotti trial was paid $10,000 to find Gotti NG.

Initially, this juror simply refused to negotiate with the other. He'd keep saying, he's innocent, he's innocent and I don't have to debate it. Eventually, the other jurors started thinking that man's family had been threatened and then they all started feeling like their families too could possibly be in jeopardy. Till it was all said and done, 12 jurors opted for NG and as it was announced, the jurors were giving an ovation from the defense; led by I believe John Gotti himself.

So, where does that leave Ben? Can it be proven? Probably not, but it doesn't mean it's not a likely possibility.

An attorney who has been admitted to the bar in another state can be admitted to practice in another state upon motion. It's called pro hac vice. Kenney-Baden just has to present a letter from the CA bar showing she is in good standing, submit her motion to FL and possibly pay a small fee. It's a relatively common practice, especially for higher profile attorneys. :)

Thank you for letting me know that! Some friends and I are discussing the fact she didn't appear to know Florida law very well in her appearance today.

They don't want to tell it because that has been the question all day by the "talking heads". Everyone is interested in HOW they are being paid and how lacking Baez was in his defense strategy.

No more multi-state exams?
