Nothing will come of this arrest of RC. It is a family dispute and charges will either be dropped or he will be allowed to plead to a misdemeanor offense.

I certainly don't wish to see RC in jail. If every guy who popped his brother-in-law in the head went to jail there would be a lot of fatherless kids. He didn't make his HaLeigh disappear, either.

CS is no mother of the year, but she didn't make her daughter disappear. She has made a lot of mistakes in life but shouldn't have to pay this price for them.

How do you know this information? Do you have the schedule for when RJ is with his mother?

It was discussed here back in June.

This must be one of the few places where people are so sure and proudly acclaim there allegiance to RC and his innocence. Arguing a person's innocence is not a problem but to go as far to exalt him on the wonders of his parenting style is just over the top. We have all got a good look at his personality and there is not a chance that he lives up to the pedestal he is placed on. Look at his hands. Look at the bruises. If you go back you will see other photos with his right hand cut. He has a short fuse and with that kind of temperment, it makes people highly suspicious that he cannot hold it in around children either.

What is the schedule please? Where is it posted? Link?

Your response is "it was discussed back in June"? For those who didn't discuss it can you fill us in? Thanks

Wow. I must have missed all those posts. I never get to see any of the fun stuff.

Can you post some links so I can go back and look?

Especially the one about exalting his parenting style.

If RC is not available, I guess she has to petition the court and it will cost her money and see if she can get them instead of TN or AS, if had them for backup (betcha). They will go and fight her for visitation, for sure. I am thinking nothing can be done about his rights since he isn't convicted of anything....I hope I am wrong...please let me be wrong!

Can you imagine the injustice of this whole thing? Our courts and judges are so liberal in their thinking, it is disgusting. Going to get much worse too, I'm afraid.

Like I mentioned before....they gave the children to OJ..doesn't that tell us something?

It seems as if emergency measures could be taken to safeguard Jr. Obviously, he is not in a safe enviornment. First his sister disappears under the care of his subsequent step-mother. Months later his father is arrested for assault - an assault that apparently was triggered by that step-mother - an assault that occured as part of a confrontation between Jr's custodial parent and the step-mother's family - an assault that occured in the front yard of the temporary home Jr lives in with that step-mother. IMO

There should be more than ample evidence to support an emergency order of protection filing on behalf of Jr. Hopefully, this is being done already. No one doing their job properly could fail to see that the environment at GGM Sykes is volatile and unsafe for a four year old.

I agree, Raeann. I dread to think what little Jr. is going to grow up to be if he continues to be raised in that environment.

I can't see that happening personally, and hope for Junior's sake it doesn't.

IMO, it's imperative that Crystal files - regardless of the outcome - otherwise she'll forever hear "well why didn't she try to get custody then . . ." Sound familiar???

If CPS leaves this poor little boy living in a camping trailer on a semi-permanent basis, with a father who is awaiting trial on felony assault and burglary charges and who could very well soon be in prison, then that is shameful evidence that their priority is NOT with the best interest of the child! He has a secure, stable home with a loving mother available to him, and it is one that he is now quite comfortable in and one that is familiar to him. His father has shuffled him between at LEAST three different homes during the last year with an assortment of less than reliable caretakers.

I have very little good to say about CPS or DCF . . .having grown up in a home where my parents were foster parents and extremely abusive (sexually, physically, mentally . . .) both to their bio children (myself & my siblings) and to their fosters - seems CPS/DCF' unspoken motto is, "Keep em' there til they kill em'" or "Keep sending em' back til they kill em'" JMO

Family of Haleigh Cummings still hopes for her return

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, was at her home in Baker County near the Florida- Georgia state line at the time of her daughter's disappearance.

Authorities have classified what has happened as an abduction. In her statement, Crystal Sheffield pleaded for her daughter's return.

"Although it has almost been six months since Haleigh's disappearance, I still have hope that my daughter will come home," Crystal Sheffield said in the statement. "I will continue to do whatever it takes to keep her face out in the public for everyone to see. I ask if anyone out there knows anything to please call Crime Stoppers or your local police.

The girl's birthday is Aug. 17.

"Haleigh is about to be six years old, I am begging once again from the bottom of my heart for whoever has my sweet daughter to let her go," the statement added. "Please, she needs to be home with her family, she does not belong with anyone else. This is tearing my heart out of my chest, a part of me is missing and that is Haleigh."

If you enter a judgment by default and custody is an issue there is a
hearing where both parties are present and judgment is made after that!
There is no such ruling by default when custody is an issue.
IMO

That is not my opinion; that happens here.... judgment by default in custody cases, I mean.

Lol.... it just a bit off track in response to a "Ron" poster that questioned a minor aspect of my previous post regarding Crystal and the need to file for an emergency custody change which was the previous direction of the discussion.

Originally posted by Raeann: It is not the usual process to assign a public defender when the charges are planned to be dropped. He has been assigned a public defender.

I would have to disagree since an attorney would be instrumental in having the charges reduced or dropped.

It would be wise for Crystal to wait and see what happens before she makes any moves to remove him, imo.

The fact that Crystal does not have Jr is a disgrace. He has been left in the care of a person who doesn't work and doesn't have a place to live. Her child is moved from place to place every three months. Her children have been left with very young girls on a 24/7 basis. And finally now, one of her children is missing or worse. Butterbean has been exposed to his father's trigger temper. This last incident is not a one time event. Crystal has a more stable life, She is the mother and this decision by the court has been a disgrace. To top it off, the court let the other child remain in the same type of environment that caused his sister to disappear.

It is necessary for the safety of this child that he be removed from his father's care. This is a disgrace, the court should be ashamed for their decision to take a child away from their mother when the father never married her and on the belief of a man's being able to tell tales. There is so much wrong with this decision.

Crystal needs support and the backing of the public to win her plight.

Crystal's home would be the better, safer and a much better choice for her son to be. The judge in this case needs to change the arrangement, ASAP.
