Could Annie be holding a White Cat?!

picture.php

I've been sitting here zooming all the way in and back out and I honestly have been telling myself for the last 15 min that's a cat. Thought I was looking at it took long lol. It sure does look like one. You can see the head and tail plane as day. imo:confused:

Same with me Toi! I hesitated to post the question cuz I was afraid it would sound silly. I thought maybe she's using her right hand to shift whatever she's holding into her left hand/arm so that she could grab the door w/ her r hand.

I thought so also Suzi!
I was afraid it would start another kitty sighting

It looks like a cat to me, too, but that would be really strange. You can't just carry a cat into a research building.

As much as that may look like the shape of a cat -- it is not. A cat would never sit in someones arms like that, especially outside, with noise and other people around -- unless it was dead. Let's not start speculating it's a dead cat!!

Logical conclusion would be that she wouldn't dare take a cat into such a facility. Can you imagine the reaction of the people to an animal being introduced into that environment with all their priceless equipment and experiments taking place? Hmmmm...someone could get pretty upset about such a thing now that you mention it....:waitasec:

I still believe it is an open, large book with papers underneath it.

I thought it was a cat too!

Also, those doors look like 'exit only' style doors.
I see a pushbar to open it from the inside to get out, but
i don't see any handles to open them from the outside

I blew up the pic a while ago and posted and stated that i don't think it's a book or stack of papers -- although a book may be on top. What she's carrying doesn't have straight edges -- it seems to be a bag, cloth or paper.

You all are keeping me up late, tonight ;)

I've been trying to catch up on this case. It's sad to say Annie is most likely not with us anymore, and in my opinion she is in the building some where. If the perp put her clothes in the ceiling, where would they put the body?

If the rooms and buildings are very secure, and her bloody clothes were found in the ceiling of a room... I can't see the perp wandering around looking for another place to put her body. This was the middle of the day, there were probably people wandering around everywhere. She has to have either been placed elsewhere in that same room, or taken out of the building.

My question, that has probably already been answered, is do you have to swipe a card to exit through the main door?

Blow it up again and zoom in on the glass doors. I didnt see it either but you see her other arm on the bar.

I think the problem is the distortion of the photo itself from the surveillance video. ;)

It doesn't appear to be the case and it would probably be illegal to have a door to the outside be inaccessible to everyone in case of fire.

Good question. I can think of many places in such a building. Since it took them this long to find the clothing...there is no telling how long it will take to find her if she is still there. IMO, this is shoddy work not to have already searched every single inch of that lab before now. It really makes me angry they failed so miserably and I think of the evidence that has either been overlooked or now is gone...including her body.

Maybe it's a white Binder she's opened to take out papers to hand to the girl?

Bennett described his advisee as an extremely diligent and well-organized student. He added that she was always aware of her surroundings and took appropriate precautions when leaving the lab late at night. Colleagues interviewed universally described Le as a bundle of energy — an always upbeat and friendly individual, who, while petite, is readily recognizable by the clickety-clack of her high heels on the lab floors.

She sure wasn't wearing high heels on Tuesday! I wonder who mentioned the high heels and if it was Bennett? The article only says "colleagues interviewed...".

Sounds like it was not Bennett to me..We talked about her "ugly" shoes earlier today & her dowdy-ish outfit..In all other pix she is very stylish so it really stood out.

It seems from this he knew earlier in the day there was a problem but it was not until later that nite he heard from LE..I dont see anything suspicious here at all.

Bennett, for his part, said he was first contacted by police late Tuesday after Le’s roommate reported her missing.

He emphasized that his eight-person laboratory team, of which Le is a member, works closely together and, as such, her colleagues noticed her absence quickly.

“There was certainly immediate concern about her whereabouts,” Bennett said. “And they grew over the course of the day,” especially after she missed a pathology class for which she is a teaching assistant.

Right SS, whatever she's holding wouldn't necessarily be laying flat. The angle of the camera has us looking down on top of something.

Yes, she is recoiling, even her right foot is moving closer to her left. The person is blocking the entry, not openning it. Openning the door for her would leave a space for her to walk in. Although, it is just on screen shot, so I cannot be sure.

I was about to post how weird her right foot looked after just seeing the pix again.

I guess that could be. I wondered if it was a book she was reading while on her way to the lab having to do with one of her experiments. I know other students who walk and read as strange as it sounds.

I'm wondering, looking again at the photo, if the reason Annie looks like she is backing away from the girl coming out the door (a bit defensively, as someone put it) is because the doors and windows seem quite tinted, and perhaps she's backing up because as she approached the door from the side she wasn't anticipating someone opening it and coming out?

Typically in double doors you'd enter/exit from the right hand door, so she'd not necessarily be expecting someone exiting from the door she clearly anticipated entering (if that makes sense).

It actually almost looks to me that someone ELSE had just entered the building, and perhaps that other girl was exiting quickly trying to catch the open door (hence the flat hand, whereas typically if you were pushing the door open yourself you'd have it lower and at/near the handle area), thus her sort of 'leaning' across the opening, giving the appearance of almost blocking it, thus still surprising Annie, who still isn't expecting someone leaving that way, cutting across her entrance path.
