What are the chances it's anyone else? So horrible!
was just going to say something along these same lines... I am a nurse and I would assume that the ventilation in this building is similar to hospitals.... my nursing buddies and I always joke that the hospital is one of the few places that you can fart and get away with it (due to ventilation)My husband graduated from Yale, and he says he has never been in that exact lab building..but in the lab building he was in the animal area smells were always contained. He said it smelled sort of like a freezer down there (extremely cold temperatures and that "freezer smell"..not sure what he means). He said it was always very sanitary, and no animal smells were present.
Thanks, Kaylynn. I know the freezer smell and was leaning toward a very sterile environment, but wondering why they didn't start to smell her body. I have heard that decomp starts to present odor almost immediately. Perhaps the cool temps held that off for a couple of days.

but if it is a dropped ceiling how could it support the weight of an adult to crawl around? I am asking because I haven't the faintest idea... This for sure cements in my mind that the steam causing the fire alarm was deliberate INDEED!
eta: I also think the perp had no time after the crime to clean up... so he/she did so very quickly and in a place (ceiling and wall) that they had familiarity with...
I definitely believe it's someone with a lot of knowledge of the building now and yes, I've been thinking someone who works with her all along. MOOI have to say, someone would have to really have intimate knowledge of that lab to know where to hide her body so quickly. I think it is a classmate or someone that worked in the lab with her.
so so sad for this beautiful young woman...

It would definitely slow down decomp. MOOMaybe she was found in the walls of the freezer room...the freezing temperatures would completely mask the smell, possibly.

In a message sent to the Yale community, university President Richard Levin said the body of a female was found in the basement of the Amistad Building.
