I hit enter too soon, but I wonder if the autopsy will show a sexual component to this crime. I wouldn't be surprised given what we are seeing right away. KWIM? JMHO.

Okay, back to sleuthing...

Per Labrat and our lab experts, there has been speculation that Annie was working with her animals Tuesday and the animal facility would probably be located in the basement. Would the animal area be kinda smelly and mask the scent of a decomposing body?

I'm a page behind, but ... I have wondered that autoclaving the body makes decomp a non-issue. What's left is the 20% of the human body that is non-liquid, if I understand this correctly, the rest of the liquids from the body would drain out. NO DECOMP. ???? Just guessing here.

hmmm wonder why Yale LE as not at the LE presser.
Because they have to now convince students and parents the campus is still safe and play CYA. They have a murderer who had access to one of the most secure areas on their campus. Bad bad press for Yale officials.

Sorry to be so cynical, but I don't care for the way this investigation was handled and I feel it is because of it being at Yale.

I hope there is some way they can check the video for somebody who didn't exit the building during the fire alarm but did so later on. MOO
he!! of a thought! The fact that the building has controlled access is a benefit to LE

In the Forensic Astrology forum, Tuba wrote on 9/11:

If the incident occurred at all and was later but before 1:00 p.m., she is at ground level in a dark place and may be contained.

:clap::clap::clap:

I read that earlier! Tuba is amazing. I wonder if the alarm was set off so the perp could move her.

After her article on campus safety, its like this person is trying to prove that the campus is not safe. For what twisted reason. Do we have a perp here that has a grudge against the school itself?

It seems like another possibility for the clothes in the ceiling is that someone put ON something else (like lab clothes/cover ups) and then took those off, allowing someone to enter/exit in the same clothes (not arousing suspicion) yet to have also hidden evidence.

In addition, if something were done to Annie by someone in lab clothes, not only would that allow them to enter/exit in their own clothes, BUT it would also make it far harder to tie them to someone else b/c it'd probably just be generic coats. Even if people have ones with their names or specific ones, nearly every lab I've been in had extras for spares - for visitors, others who work only intermittently, etc.

I keep thinking about the metal panels I saw in the photo with two large screws securing it. She wouldn't necessarily have to be dropped behind the wall at all from the ceiling.

There are also areas of the wall which are designed for accessibility to the plumbing etc. They are easily removed and a person who worked maintenance would know exactly where to find them.
I'm still thinking it's someone who has had more contact with her than a maintenance worker and knew in advance she'd be in the lab at that time. MOO

I agree SS. Given what Nurse outlined above, I think we are probably looking at a crime commited by someone that worked in that bldg, not neccesarily a fellow student. She was found in the basement, behind a wall correct?

If he works in the building then he expected to remove her body later. He couldn't expect her to remain hidden for much longer because of decomposition smells,...I think

The problem is like Lab mentioned earlier. There are many people who disregard those fire alarms and do not leave so it may not help them much to find their killer.

Emma, I don't think the perp (moo of course) would have had time to autoclave the body... not to mention in the frenzy of covering tracks it would not have been a logical choice... moo of course..

ETA: not to mention that autoclaving would HEAT the body.. thusly speeding decomp and all the associating smells, etc... I think the autoclave was a cover. Woud be interesting to know which autoclave caused the firealarm (ie, location of the alarm that sounded) especially in relation to the basement... if it was in a different location.. who generally worked in that area?

It was a CYA job from the get-go! MOO

Did you see the photo of the Yale male students in front of the Women's center holding a sign that reads, "we love Yale 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬". This is where rape victims go. There is an attitude of hate toward women at Yale. I see it.

Was it "The Telltale Heart"? just guessing.

The walling in of someone sounds like an old Edgar Allan Poe story (Cask of Amontillado??) -- it was where an acquantance was buried in a wall for revenge. Maybe the perp is a Poe fan or got his/her idea from that story?

I wonder if she was being asked to do something related to her work that she refused (falsify something)? VN people, especially if they came to the US in 1975 can be very principaled, as they came to the US for freedom and the rule of law. Her personality may be principaled, ergo the story on how to keep safe. She was not the type to keep silent when times called for speaking out it appears.
