Now, they are making me think there's a good reason why they will not tell us manner of death.

I'm not watching - those of you that are - can you tell us if:

1) The ME does KNOW the matter of death, but isn't telling?

Or

2) The reason they won't tell is they don't know yet?
this is just moo... but I think they are not revealing manner because it could alert the perp; and because they don't have all the ducks in a row for an arrest yet, and don't want to ruin anyone's reputation at yale by being interviewed or considered a person of interest. They are treading so very lightly here and I sincerely hope their balancing act does not compromise the case.

Puffster, thanks for supplying this! :blowkiss:

I have no idea what to make of this...

A Yale University graduate student died at 10:40 p.m. ET on Tuesday at the medical campus' Amistad Building, the crime log published daily by campus police reads

I have no idea, just guessing, but maybe (?) they are tentatively using the time of declared death/find as time of death until the coroner or medical examiner figures out the probable time of death, then maybe the news agency just ran with that time instead of waiting...maybe?

ME knows, but not revealing because open homicide investigation.

Labrat has posted about an autoclave it might have something to do with it. They were in a lab with plenty of chemicals I'm sure it would be easy to disfigured her or maker her unrecognizable.

it is the time that they opened the homicide case... not TOD

It is odd. The body wouldn't have decomposed that much, not unless the wall space was excessively hot. I'm wondering if she was badly beaten to the point of unrecognizable.

or injected with something...or had acid dabbed in her face...or or or

I have to be honest, if something even more sinister than immediately killing Annie comes into play, then I'm absolutely glad the ME isn't stating so yet. Maybe they are waiting for her parents to get there since they just confirmed it was Annie? Doesn't her family have to claim her body? Are they still in CT or in CA? I thought they went back to CA for some reason...

Not a random act and wont release COD temporarily.

The manner of death has been classified as a homicide, though the office declined to release the cause of death in order to facilitate the ongoing investigation into Le's death. The cause of death will be released tomorrow at 3 p.m., according to the office.
The case, now classified as a homicide, is being investigated primarily by the New Haven Police Department. NHPD Spokesman Officer Joe Avery said Monday afternoon that there are no suspects, adding that that police believe that Le was targeted and her killing was not a random act.

they must feel they can wrap this up in 24 hours... I mean why else would they just wait for 24 hours to release the COD?

Remember peeps... they are expecting the bloody clothes testing back today

Limited number of people allowed in basement. Has to a very limited amount of people. abundance of evidence found.

Right, I agree...but they already had a missing person's case open on Annie...so they added the time of find? Is that right? Or are they using the time as a tentative death until the ME can determine an exact time frame? I have absolutely no idea here, which is why I'm asking. Thanks so much Nurse :blowkiss:

I can't stop thinking about how this precious girl should be on her honeymoon today. :-(

Wasn't she in an autoclave?

Ironic that Annie wrote that article about crime in New Haven. She was killed not on the streets of the gritty city -- but in one of the most secure corners.

Sources tell ABC News the suspect failed a lie detector test, and has what were described as defensive wounds. Police sources also tell ABC News the bloody clothes found above ceiling tiles belonged to the likely killer.

****

OK, so we have a dead body ID'ed as Annie, a failed polygraph, defensive wounds, and bloody clothes. Not sufficient for probable cause to detain a suspect who might flee? How can they be so sure that he/she won't proceed to do more harm?

See that's what I was thinking. Annie didn't even need to swipe her card.

That is one big glove on that girl's right hand ... or am I wrong?

We are all seeing something different.
I see a cup....as in a cup of coffee, possibly empty or almost empty because it seems to be tilted as the person concentrated on the door being held open.
Also looks, at least to me, that the person holding the door has a very short pony tail or bun, held by a Scrunchy, on the back of his/her head.

We dont know yet but labrat has good 1st hand knowledge posted. it is a good possibility that she was in a large red bag. go back and read labrat posts i dont want to misquote or remember wrong in relaying it.

I believe we compared these pretty thoroughly in yesterdays threads. So you don't have to wade through them: We concluded the photo is the same as the one that appeared in the papers, although the papers photo was cropped. Wanttohelp's photo is sized funny. But put the two photos side by side - foot position on tile pattern is exactly the same, Annie's head position, exactly the same. Annie was carrying books & perhaps a ring binder. One of the items she carried seems to be in open position.

Thank-you.

I can see the "pointy ears", similar to the other picture, maybe I have animal on the brain, due to the discussion of the lab animals.

I guess it is telling that the picture that LE released did not include the other person in the picture. I realize that they probably wanted the focus on the missing grad student, and had likely already interviewed and ruled out the person holding the door open as a person of interest, thus leaving them out of the released picture.

It does seem relevant though, considering all the discussion of security passes.

Was it ever actually stated that her pass was swiped, or is 10 am the time stamp on the video?

I guess a pass may not be needed for the outside of the building, but for the labs only. Seems unlikely, IMO, though.

on the 8th they opened the missing persons case... then yesterday at ten (forty..right LOL having blonde moment) they converted the case to the homicide... they had to log the opening of the new case.... hope that makes sense :blowkiss: if you are blonde too Jersey we will make a good team LOL
