I want to post a thread about this unsolved shooting case as I believe it may be connected to the Connecticut River Valley Killer crimes:

Thanks for the interest. I think it is the other way round and the Connecticut River Valley Killer attacks a bit earlier but not much difference in years. I will check again.

The Connecticut River Valley Killer's attack on the victim who survived was actually on the 6th August 1988 so sixteen days earlier than the Brayman Road Attack. So this of course puts the Connecticut River Valley Killer in New England at the time of the shooting. Even I had not realised this until today so you learn something new every day:

If I can I would like to just share something that is not directly related to crimes and so will do so on my 'own' thread here. These cases provide interest for us amateur sleuths but of course they are horrible with terrible consequences that ripple out from them and ruin many peoples lives. These cases show we do not live in a perfect world that is a cruel one often:

These are my theories but I think one of the composite sketches of the suspect in the Kym Morgan in California is almost a dead ringer for the composite sketch in this case and there is just a few years inbetween the crimes. Other sides of the country but my theory is there was a Serial Killer criss-crossing the US:

I suppose like many on here I am a great Unsolved Mysteries fan and watched reruns of the show many times. I have a felling my suspect in this case Ralph Jackson kept the show busy for many years. Here is the segment on the Brayman Road Attacker from the show:
