Obituary for Angela CHIARAPPA (Aged 86) - Newspapers.com
Craig's mum, Angela Chiarappa died in 2016. Her husband is Elmer Chiarappa (died 2020), they came over from Italy in 1950 and owned a jewellery shop. Their children are David, Lori, Craig and Alan. Craig and Alan are both listed as deceased.

Alan did die in 1988, aged just 33.

omg how did i not know about this case my husband grew up in middlefield and his mom still lives there its a very small town they share schools with nearby durham both towns are patrolled by state police as they are way to small to even have a police department. i'm going to ask some locals if they recall this case he went missing in 76 a few years before my husband was born.

Has anyone considered this John Doe? Discovered in Lysander, NY. PMI is 2-5 weeks prior. The charms are Italian as I believe the last name Chiarappa.

I just spoke with the investigator assigned to the John Doe and passed on my suspicion. She was really open to the information and said they would look in to it.

In total awareness of my own confirmation bias - I was doing a bit more deep diving. Craig Chiarappa's parents owned a jewelry store for 62 years ( I'm thinking about the charms found with the Lysander NY Doe.)

Hi, I found this thread while looking for any information about the victims of the canonical 6 bag murders. Wanted to reactivate the thread if people still have interest. I have emailed Matt Miller as well as the staff at True Crime Magazine, (who posted a graphic photo of one of the victims to their instagram) hoping that they will share any information they have.

Here is coverage from the sentencing in the NY Daily News, one of the papers where that director William Friedkin stated he read about the murders before contacting Bateson for an interview. This names 5 white and one Black...
