IMO I truly believe that FD acted alone. Possibly thinking that if he could get off on this horrible crime that he, his children, MT and her daughter could finally be “one big happy family”. If I were in MT’s position as they drove through Hartford dropping off potential evidence I would NOT ask questions for fear of his reaction. MT is a bright woman and probably surmised what had happened and may have been terrified.
If both FD and MT were implicated in this crime IMO he may have thought they would have no chance to be together. Because being the brazen psychopath FD is, he surely thinks he will get off.
One might forgive MT for not asking questions except for the fact that word was out by that evening that Jennifer was missing.
If your boyfriend had spent the evening of his reviled wife's disappearance dropping garbage bags in random cans (bags that smelled so much like death you had to hang out the window), wouldn't you scoot yourself on down to the police station as soon as you were free of him?
Sorry, I'm not buying any "clueless MT" scenarios.
