Did LE bother to investigate these previous medical incidents that FD reported Kleopatra had sustained? Broken bone, painkillers, require a visit to an MD. What would those MD reports note?

Also, how was Kleopatra's funeral paid for? Was she really, truly destitute? Find it hard to believe that would be the case for a woman who once sent her son to an Ivy league school.

So his first comments are not about grief. They are
1) excuses
2) a defensive statement claiming she had no financial assets.
(What about life insurance?)

From the NYDN article (whose words were obtained directly from the police report), quoting Fotis Dulos:
“I was in Italy at the time the incident occurred, but I would like to mention that Kleopatra – my mother – suffered a severe accident in early July 2010 when she fell (down) a flight of stairs and cracked her head,” he said in a written statement to police. “Additionally, she broke her arm which required that she took painkillers during the subsequent months.”**
Fotis told cops his mother had no financial assets.

(Per PD report): FD did the translation for the nanny who ran over the mother - rather than an independent translator - to speak with the police. He then read it back to her in her native language. In other words, FD wrote the nanny's statement for the police about what happened, though he wasn't there at the time.

"Kleopatra Dulos, 77, sustained fatal injuries after she was run over by a Land Rover" - how long after her being run over? Hours? Days? Anyone know? The hospital had initially told the nanny that the mother was expected to recover and would be released.

Did FD visit her in the hospital?

**NOTE: Many of us have broken limbs. Who takes painkillers for MONTHS afterwards?

@Curious in CT, totally with you on all these questions regarding what exactly happened to poor Mama Dulos. Reading through the long long list of medicals issues Mama Dulos was dealing with it truly looked like the script from the tragic comedy, "Throw Mama From the Train"! I'm sorry to make light of the hugely tragic situation but it sounds like the medical history of Mama Dulos should have been investigated or possibly referred to LE for investigation when she was admitted via the Emergency Room. I would have thought that her intake evaluation would have raised any number of red flags at UCONN Hospital and given its proximity to 585 Deer Cliff I agree with the other poster who questioned the decision to go to St Francis Hospital. What drove the decision to go to St Francis Hospital? Did St Francis Hospital have full access to the UCONN Hospital records and history of Mama Dulos?

Head wounds are medically challenging to treat and the idea that Mama Dulos was having dizzy spells so long after her initial 'accident' is concerning IMO. I continue though to focus on the statements of FD that his mother had 'no assets' when that issue wasn't relevant to her medical history which just reading about it and not knowing anything about her is quite concerning as she seemed to have been on a downward health spiral.

The FD statement about marriage being over in 2010 was puzzling for many reasons but mainly because it seemed to be different from what JF was saying in her blogs. Its been awhile since the JF blogs have been discussed here but going from memory I thought JF said she thought her marriage was 'ok' in 2010? Will have to go back and check the dates to double check this idea.

I guess it wouldn't be the first time that husband and wife aren't on the same page at the same time in terms of relationship health/status. But the length of time between FD talking about 2010 and when JD actually left 4Jx is a long time IMO. Did they have an 'open relationship' between 2010 and 2017? I'm not thinking they did given the JF reaction to MT affair which had been doing on for at least a year before JF left 4Jx. I also wonder if the Greek interviews weren't simply fabricated for the 'local audience' and the folks from Greece that are allegedly giving FD money? What better way to drum up the Greek base for money than to say I've been miserable in a marriage with a wife and 5 children since 2010?

IDK, anything could be possible in the marriage but the 2010 date as the date the marriage 'broke down' simply seems improbable.

I hope that the New Cannanite Mike Dinan does an article on the 69/71 Welles situation. Whole thing seems to be a mess to me and its unfortunate that the owner bears the financial brunt of the situation IMO. But, honesty and integrity are important in real estate and so to see the address changed and then the property promoted with a different address simply seems 'odd' (kindest word I can come up with now) and also might explain why there is NO NC broker on the listing IMO. I hope Mike Dinan can sort this situation out! MOO

IDK either....but, if his first marriage is an indication of his attention span....a woman who has experienced multiple births with multiple babies in 5 years may not be as spontaneous as MT who liked to pop in the shower for morning sex....FD was probably already sizing up what was available in 2010 and enjoying female companionship away from home....IMO, MOO...Especially if he thought he could continue to enjoy his generous allowance and maintain the status quo. HF was impediment to FD legally moving on....again, IMO...but IDK anything for sure either. Just 'splaining how I see a "guy" like FD was operating.

The FD statement about marriage being over in 2010 wasn't puzzling to me at all. It was his "line" that made cheating on her "excusable" - it was the line he sold to MT. It's a standard cheater line, not very original!

Yes. According to JFD's writings on Patch, she was VERY much involved in the marriage (that was 2 years before her "love" post quoted a while back) - even into 2012.

Looks like Mr. Karp (owner of 69/71 Welles Lane) simply created a mess for himself and you know the mess will simply become worse IMO now that is appears Atty. P. is making comments about the issue. Is Mr. Karp taking real estate advice from Atty. P.? Not sure that is a good idea....

I do think its quite telling that the listing is NOT apparently being handled by someone from NC. Nope. Mr. Karp is well known to all the Brokers in NC so why did he feel compelled to take the listing to Greenwich? Would no NC brokers take the listing?

Per the online listing the Broker is from Greenwich - IMO this is unusual:

Sorry, but I very much wonder how Atty. P. can make the above statement? On WHAT is he basing this word salad statement which is like the statement of Mr. Karp directly opposed to the statement of LE made in AW2.

IMO Atty. P. needs a full time 'fact checker' but I do love that once again Atty. P. takes the 'low road' in his statement and also take the most expedient path between pts. A - B to support the Sellers POV.

Six month anniversary of JF missing date and today Atty. P. is STILL stating that he "has no idea what happened" to her? LE perhaps sees things a bit differently. Not good news then from Atty. P.'s expensive PI's efforts over the past 4 months or so and it still appears there is no 'alternative theory' based on the investigation that Atty. P. said he started the day he took on the case too! Oh, Atty. P. seems at a loss with his client FD [who still doesn't seem to have a case IMO]!

I often wondered what would eventually be done with this house. I imagined it would be torn down and owner could rebuild anew on what is prime property in a prime New Canaan location. Seriously, how would any happy family purchase and move into this high end home that has traces and vibrations of tragic, negative energy in its walls?
Deal or no deal... it’s a really bad, sad vibe to imagine the Dulos children once living there and then Jennifer’s last and final hours and minutes. Makes me sick. #justiceforjennifer

Oh yes I agree with you. Sorry if I was confusing. I was commenting on the article title which now has changed. It was "owner does not believe 51 year old mother died in the house". amazing how quickly they changed it. They also edited the number changing from saying the realtor listed the wrong house number now to they changed the house number.

I don't believe she died in the house, either.

She clearly died in the garage.

The good news is that the local PD near FD (Avon, Farmington etc.) were largely excluded from the investigation by State Police. Perhaps the CT State Police knew what they were doing in this regard given what we are learning now about the Avon PD as well as the officer involved with the FD mother death investigation. IDK but its quite concerning.

So many questions immediately surface when reading the Avon PD report on the KD incident at 585 Deer Cliff IMO. What I would like to know is why FD chose to cremate the body of his mother while he did not do the same for his father? Was he acting on the wishes of his mother?

The investigating officer from Avon PD is now under a cloud it seems based on the latest news reports. It seems likely that there are enough people still around and available to interview about the incident that perhaps it should get a second look from the CT State Police given the turmoil present in the Avon PD.

I wouldn't even go so far as to put the "lack of spark" in the marriage on her - not that you are doing so, but society tends to blame the 'undersexed wife.' While she mentioned she was tired - since he was gone a lot of the time, leaving her to deal with 5 kids on her own for extended periods, even with nannies - he was not an equal partner at all.

In her Patch writings, she mentions that they got away on their own a few times when he was back. Here's how romantic he was:

When FD "sister" Rena wrote her statement in support of her "brother" FD, one of the things she discussed was FD generosity in bringing his parents to the US and 'taking care of them'. I don't recall that "sister" put a date on when the parents came to CT but it sounded like it might have been around the time of the crisis in Greece. FD father is buried in CT and died in 2004.

So, Mama Dulos had lived in CT since at least 2004. I wonder if she became a citizen?

We unfortunately know very little of the Duolos/Dulos family immigration story from Turkey to Greece and then to the US. How long had the family lived in Turkey and were they part of a minority Christian Orthodox community? Had Mama Duolos/Dulos been married previously and might this have accounted for the 13 yr age gap between 'sister' Rena and FD? Who might Mama Duolos/Dulos have been married to previously?

The family 'money' issue for the Duolos/Dulos family is also unclear as I believe one of the Greek interviews done by FD described his family as being 'prominent' in Athens. He and his 'sister' IMO both received solid educations that looked to be private and not state sponsored in Athens. All this to say that it makes the FD statement about his mother in the 585 Deercliff incident report 'having no assets' inexplicable IMO.

The question of sleuthing the Nanny was never pursued when the 'incident' involving FD Mother was first discussed many threads ago.

But questions on the FD's Mother 'incident' at 585 Deer Cliff continue to increase and the inconsistencies in various reports have been discussed extensively and are unfortunately unresolved here on WS. I agree with you that knowing more about the Nanny would be helpful and so I will pose the question to the Mods. We know that LE interviewed JF about the incident but that interview didn't seem to explain why FD Mother would be driving at 7 pm at night with young children present. We also learned in the 'accident' report that an ambulance was called to the scene. We don't know where the ambulance went. We also don't know if FD Mother speaks english or would have needed JF to assist at the hospital.

From reading up I see Jennifer's mom has filed a civil suit against her son-in-law. The mom's attorney wants to be able to question the nanny in connection to the lawsuit.

There is nothing to suggest the Nanny has anything directly to do with this case. It is a logical assumption that the Nanny may know things that will be helpful to Jennifer's mom in her lawsuit.

For now, I am going to say that we cannot sleuth the nanny.

What if, in the Male dominated society in Greece, assets were transferred to Male offspring, bypassing the mother? Does this mean that once Father Dulos died, then the assets automatically transferred to FD? Is this Why MamaD did Not have assets? Is this how FD owned property in Greece? He inherited it, when FatherD passed away in 2004?
