Did he go out to sea, or are those "ponds" they have in CT really deep? Any locals that can answer?
The ponds/lakes are not that deep. Deepest lake in CT is Lake Wononscopomuc at about 100 feet (it is in Salisbury). Unless a body is encased in something, it will ultimately break apart and rise to the top as it decomposes.
He could have had someone put her in the LI Sound but that would require a boat. I think the answer as to where probably rests with KM who fell down some stairs on the day after Jennifer went missing. He may have taken her somewhere and has forgotten.....IMHO, this is his opportunity to get a deal.[/QUOTE]
LI Sound isn't deep until the Atlantic Ocean is reached beyond Montauk, NY and Block Island Sound and the LI Sound tidal flows are such that it swirls like a bathtub drain and the bottom is constantly churned upwards. This issue was addressed in depth in earlier thread. IMO placing a body in LIS doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
As the OP stated, there aren't many deep water lakes in CT. I think in a prior thread we looked at depths of CT reservoirs and the adjacent reservoirs in Westchester County (closest ones are about 15 min away from New Canaan CT) and didn't find anything very deep. Check prior threads for details as the State of CT maps for most of the CT State Parks (and some reservoirs) was posted and ditto for NYS.
