He may appear calm on the outside but he is a ticking time bomb, consider the violent act he did on JD when he was just smiling at a picnic with her the night before. The pent up rage is like Ted Bundy, violence is in there when his mask is off. One scary hombre that is not done. Any freedom and he will be gone, he is a trapped rat waiting to flee just like Ted playing a game until the opportunity presents itself then he will just do it again to another poor soul. We have not seen the end of his violent acts, unless he is locked away securely for good.
I have not heard of any malevolent act by FD on the 5/22 picnic. Do you mean altering plans then showing up early?
Mama Dulos fell down the stairs but did not die, so they had to run her over to get the job done by the Greek nanny, FD kept reminding LE that he was in Italy so he couldn't be held accountable, not much follow up by LE in this case, just let it go. Nanny was interviewed by LE with FD as the translator.....just a sneaky SOB
IMO

IMO
Yes, changing plans, playing ball to check out the wooded area with a random ball. Who knows what info he gained from the kids about plans the next day? possible access code to doors? The list goes on and on. who knows what evil plotting he was doing to prepare for his deadly deed the next day. He would never outwardly show bad actions, it was all on the sly in the rouse of something else....Awfully coincidental he was at the house the day before? What else did he do before hand, and he arrived early which was against the visitation rights. Took JD and nanny off guard. They were fearful of him and kept the doors locked to keep him out.
This Ted Bundy type of character is always up to no good, always plotting and planning his next move.
IMO
Is there an article about playing ball? I am interested in these details.

Yes, the evolution of party politics in CT has been profound over the past 20 years and certainly since the presence of Gov Rell. I mean this to be a factually based post to explain to folks not from CT what has happened over the past 20 years as the party in power changed in CT. This is NOT a political post making judgments!

I think many here on WS have tried to understand why change never seems to happen in CT. I'm sure there are many answers to this but at a very basic level I would posit that one party rule in Hartford has to have had an impact on the direction of CT over the past 20 years. IDK, political scientists have debated the 'CT Dilemma' in terms of the stats for many years and many theories exist as to why the CT slide and population exodus happened. Just wanted to put the issue here as there have been many calls for change and reform here on WS but the history of change in CT is limited.

I do have to say though that the recent possibility of a proposed bill in the Judiciary Committee regarding DV is encouraging. I balance this feeling of optimism on DV legislation with absolute disgust that First Selectman Moynihan and Chief K in New Canaan, CT have done zero to move quickly on the Waveny Park security situation with the installation of cameras. New Canaan To Install Security Cameras At Waveny Park Watching the football be tossed on the Waveny Camera situation and the comments from some of the Selectman was painful, particularly when you see so many other large scale and very expensive projects happening in Town. Priorities....

Interestingly enough, I believe New Canaan is one of the last towns in the State that consistently votes Republican and has largely Republican town officers. But I think in the last presidential election that the tide turned such that I'm not sure that the Republican dominance will be in evidence in future elections. Here are some NC info: 2019 New Canaan Election Results: Kevin Moynihan Wins Re-Election

Hartford is dominated by party politics and has been for many years and power is presently concentrated firmly in the hands of the Democrats. IMO this concentration of political power and agenda is reflected in the financial situation of CT and the economy which has continued to slide as neighbouring states bounced back. NY State too is going through some rough times both in terms of the real estate markets and economy too, so economic issues aren't just a CT issue, but CT has had zero economic growth for many many years and companies have been leaving in droves to find less hostile business environments too. But the CT slide on the way to possible bankruptcy at some point has been rough on the citizens of the state who are punished by some of the highest taxes in the country and with falling home prices. I do wish I could say that the issues we have seen in the CT Judiciary relate to lack of funding but I'm not sure anyone has presented a compelling argument that this mig

At last court appearance , Bowman stated something like :
“MT didn’t have a motive for killing Jennifer”.
I think he used that line to ask for a lower bond amount ?
I could be wrong tho!!!
I believe he said “she received no benefit? Or she had no benefit?” HAH!!

FD showing up 30 minutes early to visitation, and zooming right up the driveway, was his abuser tactic to 1) control the situation and the woman's schedule 2) intimidate her 3) create chaos. And of course, plot and plan. For the women to lock the doors is telling - he can't be trusted.
In my opinion, the Overseer, upon learning he arrived 30 mins early and entered the property against the rules, should have ended the visitation right then. If there are no consequences, DV abusers are going to take all they can get and will not stop harassing the woman during "visitation." My opinion only.
And...did the children witness their mother running down the stairs, frantic, locking the door on their dad?
LittleBitty had an excellent post about this visitation on a previous page.

Quick Snip from the "Journal of Jennifer"...March 24, 2012...
Just fun and play for FD...while JFd was alone with the kids; getting the "boiler" in the house fixed...such BS...Justice for Jennifer!

I just spoke with Fotis who is very pumped or just “up” about new business prospects, and running around Athens trying to make something happen. It’s good to see/hear him excited about something again. He will also try to waterski this weekend in Halkida with his friends Yannis and Katerina. It looks like he’ll be back here on Tuesday, and drive his car down to Florida on Friday over the weekend. To have it there to ski there as much as possible during April and May.

I know this is something so ridiculous to concern myself with in light of what happened to JFd but it really has been bothering me that JFd and her Nanny put food out for FD's picnic on 5/22. So FD "suddenly" remembered Grace Farms closed at 6PM and had to inconvenience JFd and then showed up early because he was confused and then did not provide the food. AW3 states the Nanny and JFd put the food out and then made sure the mudroom door was locked so FD could not enter. From what I can see on the website Grace Farms does not allow outside food and they serve light lunch 11AM-3PM Tuesday through Saturday with snacks until 5PM. The Visitation time was 4:30PM to 7:30PM. How was FD going to have a picnic at Grace Farms, with snacks? Was he not intending on feeding his children dinner? Even the little things like this point to FD using this date to scope out the house. MOO IMO.

Right. The "visitation" was not about the kids at all.

Just a sweet reminder of the beautiful people we are all fighting for! Justice for Jennifer!!!
Thank you- this says it all. Precious innocent real people continue to be used and abused by fd and the well paid pville and a weak court system.
Thank you to all the smart researchers and “snoopers”on this site that are not giving up and keep people that care about victims informed. Because of you there is hope for change.

Grrrr. That case ispnoster case for abuse of the system IMO.

Wish the case got more attention as that might propel action.
MOO
@afitzy, THIS case is a poster case for abuse of the family court system. The massive number of motions, pleadings etc., have served no other purpose than to line the pockets of attorneys while innocent victims of abuse continue to remain in the middle of a legal tug of war.

I would think JD did not want him anywhere inside the house for fear of him planting spying devices of any sort, above and beyond just fearing him. FD was likely an incredible gaslighter that made her afraid to even speak, especially towards the end. Living with one is exhausting...you internalize everything because everything you say gets twisted so that you are always in the wrong. It's no wonder she weighed nothing...the anxiety must have been horrible.

I wish there could be more options than just Guilty or Not Guilty. I would like to see an option along the lines of Guilty Without A Doubt. Cases where there is video, someone has confessed, indisputable DNA evidence, etc. Some people just need killing. Predators. The guy in NY who recently raped and beat a 92 year old woman to death. Quick execution is needed! I do respect you and your opinion. I just cannot be philosophically opposed to snuffing out the life of such heinous individuals. MOO.

I think you are trying to draw a distinction between guilty without any doubt vs guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I don't know if there ever is a guilty without any doubt. There always is some. The question is, is it reasonable. A defendant can always claim he/she was framed etc. That may not be reasonable, but it is some. I think FD/NP are trying to create doubt that is beyond reasonable. She's still alive. She planted her blood, He was just driving around. If you raise the criteria to beyond any doubt, I think most people would get off.

Curious question. Hate to say it but others here have explained that it is hard to kill someone. Blunt force might have been needed to even get to the point where using zip ties was possible. Sharp instrument could have been used to ultimately kill.

Hate thinking of this happening as its sickening and disturbing but my guess is that this scenario might be close to what we will ultimately see play out once LE release more details at trial eventually.

MOO

once there was a lot of blood evidence in the garage, all the other maneuvers- bike, different vehicles, moving the SUV, tossing the trash- were all useless because the crime scene was the garage and FD even left his DNA on a door handle. whatever "research" or planning might have been done, it was 'wasted,' IMO.

Seriously? I’ve read that arrest warrant. I can’t believe anybody signed it,” Pattis said. “It looks like a piece of leverage to get him to flip.”

While the contentious divorce between Fotis Dulos and Jennifer Farber Dulos’ has sparked national attention since her disappearance in late May, Mawhinney has also been going through a bitter divorce, including allegations that he violated a protective order prohibiting communication between the couple. Judge John Blawie referred to that violation as a main reason that he didn’t want to lower Mawhinney’s $2 million bond.

Mawhinney is also facing charges of sexual assault. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Dulos invited Mawhinney’s wife to meetings, including one at his Farmington home, where she was to talk with her husband. The wife initially met with Dulos at Max’s Oyster Bar in West Hartford on May 19, but after telling Dulos she would not meet with Mawhinney unless their lawyers were present, Dulos abruptly paid the bill and left, according to the warrant.
On May 20, Dulos called the wife again, telling her that Mawhinney was willing to meet with their lawyers present. On May 21, Dulos called again to set up a meeting, but the woman told him she had talked to her lawyer and did not want to have any contact with her husband, later telling South Windsor police that she had a feeling Dulos was luring her into a trap.

Instead, the woman contacted South Windsor police and filed a criminal complaint alleging that Mawhinney violated the terms of a protective order put in place after his arrest on sexual assault charges by working through Dulos to reach her. She also met with state police to talk about her dealings with Dulos and expressed fear for her safety.

“She stated she felt she was being ‘baited’ and was uncomfortable with the fact that Dulos kept inviting her back to his residence. She stated that she believed Dulos was ‘indebted’ to Mawhinney and that she believed Dulos was working on behalf of Mawhinney to get rid of her. She stated that she believed that Mawhinney wanted her dead,” the arrest warrant said.

Mawhinney initially told state police there wasn’t a pre-arranged meeting for that day and that he didn’t remember talking to Dulos at all that day. He did admit that Dulos wasn’t at Jefferson Crossing when he was there. In his second interview, he acknowledged Dulos had set up the meeting for that morning and also told detectives that “if there’s a phone call, I guess I did (talk to Dulos).”

The meeting that morning — and changing stories about it told to police by Trocnonis — are featured prominently in the arrest warrants linked to the murder charge. While Troconis initially told authorities she saw both Dulos and Mawhinney at Jefferson Crossing that morning, she would later say she never saw Dulos.
Mawhinney reenters the picture later that day, authorities say...
On the same day Dulos was meeting with Mawhinney’s estranged wife at Max’s Oyster Bar, two men, Jay Lawlor and Lee McKay, were out for a little birthday hunting party at a gun club in East Granby when they stumbled across something odd — two barbecue grill grates covered with leaves and branches. They were hiding a fairly large pit later measured at six feet long and 3.5 feet deep by state police.
Inside the hole, Lawlor and McKay found a blue tarp and two unopened bags of lime, according to the arrest warrant charging Mawhinney with conspiracy...
Though the arrest warrant suggests that Mawhinney established the club, current club President Mervin Cooley said it existed long before him. The club was incorporated in 1951, according to the Connecticut Office of the Secretary of the State. In 2002, it bought the property near the intersection of Russell Road and East Street for hunting and fishing. Before then, the club leased other property in the area, according to Cooley.

The arrest warrant said that the club had only five members, but Cooley explained that there are about 42 members, half of which are active, paying members.

“It’s just a bunch of older guys,” Cooley said. “Together, we hunt every Saturday, eight or nine weeks during the pheasant season. We also stock the pond with trout and catch the trout.”

Cooley also said that there is no special key needed to enter the property, and anyone can get in. He said there’s a chain link fence that goes through a plastic pipe.

In the early 2000s, Mawhinney helped the club acquire its current property in East Granby, according to Cooley.

two versions of the club. not sure what I think.
