Rubbish is right! Attorney Pattis should be persona non grata in the court system moving forward. Anytime Attorney Pattis shows up in court with a bond package for a client it should be checked and double checked and triple checked and signed off by the CT Insurance Dept before Attorney Pattis' client is released. Cool your heels. End of the line. We will call you when the paperwork is in order, Attorney Pattis. MOO.
Yes, especially since it can mean the case of life or death for his client!

Thankfully, never worked with a bond agent, but it would seem to me that the charged individual would remain in custody until the bond has been verified. Especially given the large amount of the bond.
Yes, the entire process of the State of CT can be called into question here as there appeared to be multiple fails along the way here.

WHO is responsible for reviewing the bond package prior to RELEASING the accused from JAIL?????

IMO we are seeing basic factual errors in the bond certification (reference to State of FL vs State of CT) along with serious issues regarding the sufficiency of the collateral.

We also saw eagled folks here on WS look at the signatures on the checks given yesterday and they believe the signature of Fd appears to be closer to that of AC's vs Fd. What is UP WITH THAT????

The big picture issue though was the acceptability of Palmetto as an insurer and this was brought up by a whistleblower AND NOT THE STATE OF CT and this IMO is a issue that to me at least says the review process by the State is NOT FUNCTIONING.

I do very much have concerns about the ability of the State to process and review these bonds and I do hope that the Press issues a FOIA act request to obtain the BOND PACKAGE FOR MT such that it can be reviewed carefully to make sure that it is sufficient as given what we have now seen quite clearly in the Fd bond package that the State cannot be assumed to be watching and reviewing the entire process properly.

Entire situation here IMO with the bond is shocking. Further, the idea that the issue is 'case closed' in Hartford, while typical of the bureaucrats, seems to be just another issue of the ongoing Keystone Cops in action situation in this case after the news yesterday that Farmington PD is going to issue the report on the Fd suicide investigation. I still am reeling about the statement from the monitoring company/Parole People at CSP or Bureau of Prisons or wherever they are from that they watched Fd immobile on his GPS device in the garage and their response was to call his phone repeatedly to get voicemail and THEN they called the FPD! WHERE WERE THE CSP? Why was FD not escorted in person to Stamford by LE?

Very little of the last days of Fd life is sadly making much sense so I hope Atty Colangelo (now Senior States Atty) is on top of the situation and that the facts are researched completely and that the public is made aware of the situation as frankly little that we have seen so far in terms of information, inspires confidence in the Parole/Bracelet monitoring, CSP and Fd on scene at 4Jx and the Insurance situation with the bond fraud.

Because the bond company simply would not have the funds to pay the state of CT, so CT would lose.
YES! Because the bond was fraudulent (due to insufficient collateral) and Fd and AC most clearly knew this was the case, it meant that there was little incentive for Fd and AC to remain in CT and they could fee with no consequences.

CT would then go to enforce the $6 million bond and find out that it wasn't worth the paper it was printed on.

So, Fd would be gone and State of CT would have no bond coverage.

EPIC FAIL IMO.

But it most likely would have been at the emergency hearing that was scheduled the same day he attempted his suicide.
No. The hearing was re-scheduled to the next day and the decision on the bond was held over.

'Had Dulos shown up, there was a good chance the judge would've revoked his bond. A motion asking to do so was filed by the South Carolina company that insured it.

Palmetto Surety now claims the collateral to cover the bond was not sufficient.

The bond issue is now on hold until Dulos is able to return to a courtroom.'

Agreement allows family to see Fotis Dulos at hospital amid 'dire' medical condition

ETA - I think the judge wanted to keep the Bond Company on the hook as the paperwork was so, so lacking.

Agree.

The issue I have is that Atty. P. IMO was 'all over' the cobbling together of this bond from the $1,250 taken from GV to AC to the Atty. P. PI etc.

Nobody has more info on Fd and his civil legal issues than Atty. P., so I wonder how could Atty. P. have NOT KNOWN this bond was a fraud? Did he not care because he found a 'live one' in Palmetto to issue a bond certificate where they got the State wrong?

We heard Atty. P. trying to explain all this away by saying there were 'title issues' associated with the bond. OF COURSE there were title issues with the bond but that wasn't the problem!

The PROBLEM was that there was insufficient collateral and I don't understand why nobody has used the word fraud to explain what happened?

Atty. P. IMO was intimately involved with this bond, knew the properties put up, knew about the 2 foreclosures and knew that AC didn't have the personal net worth to support a $3 million unsecured note.

Can Atty. P. be first investigated and then prosecuted for his role in what very much appears to be FRAUD?

We also have the related issue of the Fd signature on the $1,000 check from People's Bank for the bond. Folks here on WS looked at the signature as it appears to bear a very close relationship to that of AC and NOT Fd historical signature. Does AC have a POA to allow her to sign Fd name (unknown info but if she did then why not sign her name using the POA and not sign Fd????). Did Atty. P. tell AC to simply sign the name of Fd absent a POA and hope that it wouldn't be caught or reviewed? Didn't People's Bank review the signature and see that it wasn't at all similar to Fd historical signature that they no doubt had on file???

No wonder Atty. P. quickly moved to file the 'Joan of Arc' and 'Release of Discovery' motions and then further created the Greek Family Memorial situation at 4Jx to simply take the eyes of the Press OFF of what had just happened in Court regarding the BOND IMO.

I don't know how the State of CT can allow this situation to NOT be investigated and censure applied. I would also like to know if this matter has been referred to the CT Bar and Judiciary Review as the reality is that the State of CT released a person accused of a violent crime and DID NOT have a valid bond in place.

YIKES and WOW! Cannot believe this is all being swept under the rug in Hartford.

YES. But, this was precisely the problem as we watched this all play out. The Judge allowed the issue to NOT be resolved that day (probably because they knew that Fd wouldn't make it IMO) and this simply kicked the issue down the road to be resolved another day or swept under the carpet.

I would think that the Judge White would have been outraged by what happened but perhaps nobody wanted the epic system fails disclosed?

IDK but I think the citizens of CT deserve better than this! $6 million invalid bond accepted, Fd out on bond for a good amount of time on said invalid bond and Fd kills himself while out on bond while the monitoring company watches his unmoving GPS bracelet in the garage of 4Jx trying to call him on his cell phone and they eventually call FPD who intervene.

Simply unbelievable and I hope our analysis here is incorrect, but sadly I don't think this will be the case.

I believe he too is involved in a highly contentious divorce action.

Will go back and review old notes.

For 19 days FD was on house arrest but was able to troll around and destruct memorials.
For 19 days the state insurance regulators did
not know they had no guarantee this man would ever show in court again.
19 days.

@Nikynoo, Nope, you have to go through the documents page by page which is what I did last night and summarised the info in post 507.

The bond documents are now redacted and I did the best that I could with them. The information about prior liens on the real estate was nowhere to be found in the 50 pages that I could find unfortunately. But we know from public info elsewhere about the foreclosures.

4Jx (in foreclosure)
Sturbridge (in foreclosure)
80MS
84MS
585 DC

I know 80MS is the secondary crime scene/home near 4JX but can anyone tell me anything about the properties 84MS and 585 DC ? Are those developed homes or land properties ? Are they in Farmington? Also, is MT living is an FD home in Avon ? Thnx to anyone who knows this info.

100%

IDK why he simply didn't flee?

He and AC could have done a "Thelma and Louise" and hit the beaches in Mexico or Venezuela.

Probably didn't do it because he was out of $$$. Game over.

State of CT would have been sitting with a useless bond and no Fd.

84 Mountain Spring Rd, Farmington, CT 06032 - realtor.com®
[NOTE, IDK whether this is a rendering or whether this house was actually built - could be raw land]

585 DC is prior house of Mama Dulos and is a 70's style rambler with land and is in an advanced state of decay and most likely would have to be knocked down IMO. Fd has been marketing this property for years as a 'build to suit' but had no takers. This property is in Avon and a short distance from 4Jx and Fd used the property to store FORE materials and equipment.

MT is believed to be in Avon but unclear who owns the house/condo.

MOO I hope con artist I mean attorney NP loses his license to practice law because of this. Add on all the other unethical, questionable things Np has done to the complaint and maybe Np will also get a jail sentence.
