Wonder if he gets commission
Its funny but IMO he never has to leave the office, just opens email or has a phone call and my guess is that the articles magically 'either write themselves' or possibly 'arrive fully baked and written'.

Watching the DA and HC situation play out in the Dulos case has IMO following many similar cases for a long time, been one of the least disguised and certainly most obvious tag teams between a possible source and a written article. I seriously question whether any pretence is made about multiple sourcing, objectivity or alternative POV. IMO the reporting we have seen simply breaks the mould on basic journalism standards and integrity and its been sad to watch.

That is why I keep thinking he did not intend on killing her or plan on the blood loss. He planned on zip ties since he brought them but did not bring any cleaning supplies or anything to soak up blood.

Why kidnap her if he wasn’t planning to kill her?

If it was intentional to leave the suburban running in reverse to emulate a possible abduction of JF, it is certainly possible that MT was the one to do this as she could have passed for JF going for a run with cap on, etc. So if that were the case, who picked her up? When was the Suburban left there?

I know this has been discussed previously, but it still baffles me especially finding out about the Suburban was left running in reverse as stated in FD’s AW. Was the emergency brake on then to stop it from moving?

ETA: just reread AW. It was just the running lights. How long would they stay on for? Did the vehicle’s engine shut off then?

IMO the timing of ‘when’ the Suburban was left is very important.
I hope I am not the only one thinking this stupid question...so pls bear with me..how do you leave a vehicle running while in reverse? I know when in park, yes..you can leave in drive- when your foot is on the break, but in reverse? Thanks

Looks like DA might be issuing a 'challenge' on Q&A on the Dulos case.

Subscribers only so I guess that might limit the response to 2-3 folks.

Do we have any Subscribers here that could perhaps aggregate questions for DA to 'answer'? I also wonder if Atty. P. will be on the project too or perhaps a direct line to Athens to ask questions of "Sister" Rena.

Unfortunate as I think I could start typing now and still have questions going by next Tuesday, but I'm not sure anything absent a free subscription would entice me to be a 'Subscriber of the HC'!

eww, I like your scope of deeper thinking and
creative head scratchin'.
Have you exhausted the reasons for someone
going to Birch St., Bristol on the same day as
the murder??
This is such an out of the way place for someone living in Farmington's upper crust areas. They just don't go over to the Middle St./ESPN area. It's such a mixed bag of little
old houses, small manufacturing places,
all the dumps and chemical dumping sites.
Suburban residents may go through there to get some other place, but few go there with a purpose. Sat. afternoon 2:30pm. Purpose?
I have no evidence for this theory but do we think they used dumpsters in Birch St area they had scooped out earlier for this purpose?I will admit that when I was a broke college student in an apartment where we had to pay for trash pickup I knew where to find all the unattended unlocked dumpsters and yes I used them. Of course back then when dinosaurs roamed the earth we didn’t have everything on camera like today but this is my thinking, there were dumpsters that FD & MT had scoped out and used to discard stuff. Even knew what day their pickup would be. Obvi MOO.

Why kidnap her if he wasn’t planning to kill her?
If kidnapping was part of their plan, it was just step 1. It seems clear they planned to kill her and then dispose of her body - all of that - at least the latter part - was planned out.

They may have tried to kidnap her in the garage so that there would not be blood there, so that they could go with the "GG theory" lie - as if she took off on her own. Getting blood all over the garage kind of messed up that plan - seems they did NOT plan for that part.

Clearly, they intended - and planned - to eventually kill her and then dispose of her body, though, IMO.

Crazy thought & just thinking out loud, but do you think he originally thought he would suffocate her with the ponchos and zip ties?

No questions are stupid! :)
I believe the car lights were on, but that the car was not running.

I suppose it might be possible to have the emergency brake on if the car were running, but not sure that would even work. o_O

Not crazy at all. Apparently, they had planned for a bloodless killing, or at least to get out of that garage without making a big mess (and without having to clean it up - that seemed to have caught them off-guard!) and finish it elsewhere - perhaps back at 80MS? I think she fought back like crazy, surprising them.

What in the world could DA possibly know that we haven't already heard. Unless he has a direct link to LE that he can quote (which I doubt) I think this is a waste of time.

I think he’s trying to pull a Sam Kraemer on Kelsey Berreth...wont’t work though!

....and make you subscribe to the HC!

Agreed. He and NP is playing for all it's worth...IMO

How I wish we had someone like Sam Kraemer on this case! Someone who actually did some investigating and real reporting!

Sadly, DA just reprints what NP gives him, apparently.

Maybe it's more lucrative for him that way?

I think the mud room door being unlocked is a definite key to the puzzle of whether there was an accomplice or not. He could have gone out that way to put the bike deeper in the woods to come back for later, or someone else could have left that way. Just not sure how the bike makes it way to the Tacoma. Did someone take the bike to the woods and he came back for it? Maybe he hid it,I just can’t see the bike tossed into the back of the Suburban with a body.
"Ms. Almeida noticed the rear mudroom door which led outside was unlocked." If Accomplice #1 drove JFd's Suburban out the garage and then parked at Waveny for 40 minutes and then left via Tacoma northbound on the Merritt, did Accomplice #2 leave out the mudroom door and through the woods and forgot to lock the mudroom door behind him/her? If there was only one co-conspirator present at 69 Welles on 5/24/19, did he or she go out the mudroom door to pick up the bike first and then re-enter forgetting to lock the mudroom door behind him/her before getting into the Suburban?

Why two ponchos?

IMO, JFd saw the shaved head and knew what was coming. I re-read AW#3 understanding why JFd might have wanted to leave for NYC right away and let LA drop the children off to school on Friday morning - JFd knew this was the Memorial Day weekend in which Fd had "lost" his request to "reintroduce" his children to MT and her daughter, by court order. See May 17th court date plus fender bender in Tolland involving MT for the reaction of MT. MT was losing Fd because a younger, prettier, smarter, more presentable AC was being prepped but MT couldn't put her finger on who or how...just that time was running out. All or nothing on Memorial Day weekend. MOO.

Fd's AW#3 page 29 of 35:

  • On 05/23/19 Jennifer discussed the possibility of Ms. Almeida staying overnight at 69 Welles Lane as Jennifer had an early doctor appointment in the city the next morning. Jennifer ultimately decided she would stay in New Canaan, bring the children to school per usual, then leave for the appointment. She told Ms. Almeida it would not be necessary for her to stay at Welles Lane that night. Jennifer also told Ms. Almeida she was planning on taking the Range Rover to the city because it was smaller and easier to park than the Suburban.
  • On 05/24/19 Ms. Almeida arrived at 69 Welles Lane at 11:30 AM. As usual, she opened the center bay garage door via the keypad and immediately noticed the Range Rover was still parked in the garage while the Suburban was gone. Upon entering the kitchen, she noticed Jennifer's handbag was on the floor in the doorway between the mudroom and kitchen, and she found Jennifer's unopened granola bar and mug of tea on the kitchen counter. As she washed Jennifer's mug, Ms. Almeida noticed the paper towel roll near the sink needed replacement. She went to the pantry for a new roll and found only two fresh rolls were left. Ms. Almeida found this "incredibly strange" because just the night before she had placed a brand-new pack of twelve rolls in the pantry. Ms. Almeida wrote, "I sat there and wondered what had happened last night that they used ten rolls of towel rolls."
  • After picking up four of the children, as the fifth went directly to a friend's home, Ms. Almeida returned to Welles Lane and fed the children lunch in the kitchen. At 12:43 PM, Ms. Almeida sent a text message to Jennifer which went unanswered. As she and children prepared to leave the home, Ms. Almeida noticed the rear mudroom door which led outside was unlocked. This door was routinely locked unless the children were playing in the backyard. After locking this door, Ms. Almeida sent another text message to Jennifer at 1:10 PM that she would be arriving in New York City with the children at 2:30 PM. This message also went unanswered.

Me too,
I wish Judge White was going to preside over the hearing; he seems to care about it more.
he is also much firmer.
