In many states, Jennifer’s estate might not pass to Fotis if he was a suspect in her death. This is certainly a very complex estate situation, and we don’t really know whether Jennifer had a separate will. I think it is possible that she did, due to the twists and turns of their relationship and pending divorce proceedings.

I’d be surprised if she didn’t draw up a will after they separated, and I’d be surprised if he did, because I don’t think he comported himself as a practical man-and because he couldn’t get Jennifer to pay for it. I think he would likely spend what he could steal from her on waterskiing, women, and trips to Greece. Not on drawing up a will which benefits him not at all.

I could be wrong but I don't think the divorce was granted yet.

This was one of the problems -- the proceedings were neverending to the point of some seeking legislation over what happened after JD filed and the embattled judicial proceedings required for her to divorce herself from FD. (Especially the legal fees JD incurred and was still incurring).

MOO

Yes, you are right. I could have sworn the divorce was granted. What a shame it wasn't. :(

The following document from the Dean attempt to foreclose 4JFX is amazing. It is a money losing proposition.
In addition to the slow movement of probate, CT has forbidden any foreclosures at this time, even if the resident is dead. The service payment on the debt on 4JFX is $265.92/DAY.

If the property would have sold on June 29th, it would have lost about $400,000 between debt and appraised value.

The breakdown is on page three of this document.

Probably not in this case-If they can try someone for murder, they’ve already effectively declared her to be dead. I do wonder what the ramification will be though? I wonder if the Greek relatives will, in fact, attempt to take the house in Farmington? These are sick people (they are part and parcel of what Fd was), so I think they will try to take it, or at least tie it up so that GF cannot sell it. Just to try and make her last years the hardest she has had. My thoughts are with her frequently throughout the aftermath of her daughter’s murder, suddenly needing to raise her 5 grandchildren, teaching them during Covid, and now this. Fotis’s family must be desperate to get their hands on more Farber money. Wouldn’t it just be easier to get a job and earn their own?

I think about her, too. GF is the kind of person I want to be in terms of being there all-in if my kids need me. She has shown such intelligence, grace, strength, and resourcefulness throughout all of this. I don’t know her, of course, but her actions have shown who she is just as the actions of FD, MT, and their families have shown who they are. I don’t understand how anyone could want someone else’s money—and in this case, it’s money that should be the kids’. MOO.

MT is posting to social media, and she posted something today, something about not having power, and speaking to her daddy and how she hopes he gets better, and how they roughed it in South America with indigenous people, like she’s roughing it now. Except she must have a generator, or else she cannot charge her ankle bracelet and cell phone to post to social media (I cannot take credit for this, and am ashamed I didn’t think of it myself). Or else, this is an opportunity for JS to tell the judge, “See? She could have taken off when the power was out, and she didn’t! That proves she has no plan to flee, so you can order it to be removed, Your Honor!” I sooo hope JS does this!

Oh, yes! Of course the power/ankle bracelet will be used as another opportunity to point out the polished halo hovering above MT’s head. Who do they think they are kidding? And, actually, who do they think is the audience?

With the exception of MT’s close circle, people are either going to be disinterested or they are going to be sickened by her because they’ve followed the case.

I know we discussed it before but I don’t remember when Bowman quit being MT’s attorney. Was it his choice, I presume? Surely it wasn’t her choice? MOO.

IIRC, it was indeed her choice, after Fd took himself out of the picture in a cowardly way IMHO.

News on February 6, 2020, "new attorney:"

New attorney wants Troconis house arrest lifted in Jennifer Dulos case

I do like this picture, but not as much as the yellow jumpsuit or 'pink eyelash sweater' that resembles a Muppet.

For your reading pleasure or academic refresher, good to overcome virtue signaling with facts:

It was never said if he got fired or if he left on his own-And he wouldn’t, and maybe couldn’t say. But I do think there was some kind of a blow up after the last arrest, where MT lost her $#1t and ended up at the hospital, briefly. I suspect that Bowman had had enough of the Troconis family circus, and perhaps there was a mutual parting of the ways between Bowman and MT’s mother, which may or may not have been the thing to send MT tailspinning. But probably more likely that MT freaked because she really didn’t understand that she was always going to be arrested for conspiracy to commit murder.

HEADS UP: I’m hearing Michelle Troconis is being put on the court calendar in Stamford for a hearing 8/28. She has not appeared since February because of delays due to COVID

Please oh please oh please let it not be about removing her ankle monitor, but if it is, please let the judge say “no way, wear it and enjoy it or be remanded to a jail cell”. I do not want this ridiculous defense attorney to be encouraged in his outrageous motions!

Great News about Waveny!

Perhaps, some of the home security cameras will prove fruitful for the coming prosecutions, too.

I just went back and listened to MT's last hearing once again. Attorney Schoenhorn had his panties in bunch about the fact that probation questioned why MT was in Farmington on June 11.

By golly, Judge White instructed MT she could go to her attorney's OFFICE and her doctor's OFFICE, not driving around interviewing people and looking at the scenery.

Let's see, according to my count, she's almost at strike 3:
  • She had an expired passport.
  • She was at location she was unauthorized to be with her attorney per the latest explanation of her probation.
  • She "may have" been communicating with FD through a 3rd party.
We'll see....

When you draw up a will with a lawyer, does that get filed anyplace, or only after the death of the person with the will? In any event, if there wasn’t any will, why wouldn’t the effects of that person (Fd) belong to his children? I mean, with no will, certainly his sister and her family wouldn’t have a claim on any assets, and neither would AC or MT, or anyone else. Of course AC and the Dulos family of grifters likely already grabbed everything of any value that didn’t need a Greek moving truck to take, right?
We have moved away from storing original wills for clients - but we have hundreds from the 70's and up. Our state requires the original Will to be filed with the probate clerk within 10 days of death. It is not easy to probate a copy. Witnesses to that original Will have to swear in Court that they did witness the signature, etc. If no Will has turned up then I would imagine intestate succession would be the way probate would proceed but I am not familiar with CT probate. In my state - there is a very detailed chart of who gets what - I am very sure JFD had a Will but she hasn't been declared deceased yet. I don't see how his family can get the house other than to squat in it.

Maybe a strategy for pre-trial jury pool googling? “She seems nice.” IMO the tone-deafness makes her seem even more callous and less sympathetic a “character.” Sickened - perfect word.

And they’re old photos, most of them! I’m all about family & come from a close, snuggly ride-or-die Italian-American background, but I sure wouldn’t want to be shown in a photograph w/a sibling charged with such heinous crimes (with so much compelling evidence).

maybe I’m disloyal. MOO.
Edited to say: My dearly departed Mama would come visit maybe once a year (grudgingly) if I ever got into that kind of trouble! I just don’t get it. But thankful that I don’t. IMHO.

Thanks for this Tink.
A few points.
JS opining that English is her second language.
Colangelo stating that this is a change.
JS says his response is cynical.
Colangelo is shocked. Me being cynical?:D
She did watch her attorney speak the entire time.
Was her understanding enhanced by her interpreter?
Love the decisiveness of Judge White.
She wants to be out from 9 to 7 to do her job.
Ain't gonna happen.
This is the first time in 6 months I've heard she has a job? Colangelo.
No side trips. No free lunch. Every move needs to be approved.
How will Judge White respond when he learns she's been out and about?
MOO.

The court-appointed lawyer overseeing the estate of Fotis Dulos has filed a motion asking the probate judge to declare Jennifer Farber Dulos dead arguing that she was likely dismembered after she disappeared nearly 15 months ago.

Normally in Connecticut a person has to be missing for seven years before the probate court will declare them legally dead, but Christopher Hug is trying to speed up that process because he wants Dulos’ estate to have access to a retirement account which has more than $194,000 in it, according to the court records.

Hug initially asked that the retirement accounts funds be set aside for his salary and upkeep and preparing the FD properties for sale...this will be interesting.

I'm not sure how GF or JFD's children would feel about this action. What a mess FD left behind.
