He pulls into his driveway and checks his mail? My mail would be the last thing on my mind after everything he did that day.
You might want to if you are trying to act normal.

Just curious, does LE put a truck back together when they rip out the door panels and carpeting like that? Or is poor PG left with the mess?
I’ve seen both…but so many times the vehicle is simply a write off…depends on what was done. I saw one where the computer system was removed….not sure how you repair that along with the electrical system? Same thing can happen for LE searches. Homeowner gets stuck with cleanup even it involves blood etc. I believe. Moo

IDK, good question.

PW’s life was left in a mess….including having to hire an attorney.
Another victim of FD and MT for sure!

Thanks @afitzy!

Seems so unfair but, like my dear mother always said, life isn't fair.

Lesson learned: Do NOT work for Fotis Dulos.

JS on Cross

"Since our break, are you still retired?" [Sheesh]

JS asks if the license plate was removed from that photo. [I can't help him if he asks his question stupidly.] Witness says he removed the plates a different day.

JS is asking about a combination plate, as a personal and business vehicle. Asking about color intensity. Asking if they were illegal plates.

Objection, outside the scope. Sustained.

JS just asked about if the Tacoma was ever returned to PG and the answer was No Sir. Guessing it was an insurance co write off as suggested earlier by @afitzy.

Detective Reilly looks pained

Now JS is showing the rear plate. Is this the actual plate that was removed? Yes. Did you remove it yourself? Yes. Is it true that it was only affixed by two screws? Yes. Front too? Yes.

JS shows a photo of oil on the garage floor, was the oil leaking from this vehicle?

Objection, overruled

Witness doesn't recall.

JS wants to ask about the contents of the bed of the truck. Is this where they were found? No. Someone moved them from inside the vehicle. Did you move them? No. This is where I found them.

Do you know where it was seized from? No.
Do you know that it was seized from PG.

Objection, overruled.

JS asks if the seats were Ford seats. Is Ford owned by Toyota?

JS is arguing about the reference to the seats being Tacoma seats when they're Ford seats.

State objects. Photos were offered for evidence, not for the State's labeling system.

Sustained.

JS is asking about stripping down the truck. Witness states what was removed. Door panel. Carpet.

JS is asking questions about the contents taken from the console. Did you look at every item to see if it had investigative value? Yes.

JS refers to red and blue and yellow items. Automotive fuses, Sir.

JS asks about chains. Witness said we looked at them, determined no evidentiary value, didn't seize.

JS is asking witness about stains and rust on the floor of the vehicle.

JS asks about the license plates bolts. Asking about fingerprints.

Witness schools JS on DNA testing vs fingerprint dusting. Tested the bolts for DNA, tested the plates for fingerprints.

JS is asking the witness about the swabs and did he know there were no positive results?

Witness says he does not know the lab results beyond testing with Kastle Meyer.

JS asks if Luminol is just one presumptive test and Kastle too. That they can test positive for vegetation, animal blood.

Asking if he's the witness who says he buys the test -- yes, for Luminol.

JS asks if the door was sent to the lab. Witness didn't know. Did the swabs get sent? Sir, do you mean the cutting? We sent that to the lab.

JS asks if he's aware that it was negative for blood. Witness says he believes it to be blood, believes that's what the report says.

JS asks if the lab knew which seat was which.
Objection, outside the scope, Sustained

JS is asking the witness if he knew how the seats had been mounted in the Tacoma.

Objection, sustained.

Witness says he doesn't know how they were mounted.

JS is showing an aerial of Waveny.

Asking the witness about the mulch field. Witness was not aware of it at the time.

JS is identifying the train station--

Objection, outside the scope. Sustained.

[I really don't like the Defense's inference. As if JFd bludgeoned herself while FD was on a bike ride nearby. Drove to Waveny and caught a train to somewhere where her kids aren't. Grrrrrr]

Pretty sure the Jury doesn't either.

I'm taking up crocheting while JS belabors the map of Waveny.

LOL, the detective calls JS’ bluff and gets up to show exactly where on Lapham Rd on the map… even though JS told him he doesn’t need to get up

  • #1,075
Can't. Make. This. Up.

JS asking about Waveny Park paths if he noticed any joggers, cyclists, tire tracks.

Objection, outside the scope. Judge sustains for irrelevancy.

Asks about oil stains. Did he see any? No. Did you document any?

Objection. Sustained.

JS asks the witness if, when he was there, was there a vehicle in the serving spot. [SHEESH. Video shows it drove away. ]

Redirect: State asks questions about the interior of the truck and bed. Very clean. Nothing strewn about.

  • #1,077
JAS very interested in that brass chain with long slender item attached (JAS referred to it as an alligator key on lanyard) among items taken out of Toyota, laid out on clean brown paper, and inventoried. He asked about it early in cross and again after re-direct.

Early lunch. Recess until 2 pm.

  • #1,079
Jury excused. JS is back arguing the Luminol. Moves to strike the testimony, citing Moody

Replying to myself with this post as I figured a shout out to TP was in order and this other song from Garbage simply made me smile! Here’s to NO Farmington ☔️ rain!

Song: I’m Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage.

These are great! I went to a concert last summer and Garbage opened for the band I was seeing. Amazing tying them into this case
