JS shows photo of second sponge.

JS can't think of a brand name for sponges but he does successfully describe a sponge.
Tied to MT task associated with murder clean up imo! Moo

MOO

Is JS's only argument that, since FD purposely dumped his trash into the city trash, all further examinations are irrelevant due to possible cross contamination?

This witness put a pin in him.

Crime scenes aren't labs.

This has to be the quote of the week!

JS showing the photo of the trash as it appeared on Albany -- bush league.

Can't help but think of all the trash that wasn't recovered. FD and his beigepiece purposefully dumped garbage in multiple bins, mixing it in with city garbage, to disguise it and then disappear it. To use that and turn it into some kind of defense for cross contamination is as low as JS's other low lows. Like twisting JFd's graciousness toward FD for her children's sakes to erase motive, ridiculous. Repugnant.

With the trash busibess, I saw where JS was going and he seized on this witness to do it. She was solid.

If those hairs come back to the defendant, how is JS going to try to spin that? FD and the defendant getting cozy against the Tacoma and her hairs landed on his smoooooth body and her fingerprints slid onto his hands?

Was really hoping we'd get to DNA evidence today.

Next week should be illuminating.

JS has had this evidence for 4 years, He has wanted the prosecution to identify what their court plan was for this period of time. IMO...JS has spent this time writing countless boiler plate motions and objections and barely cracked the boxes of evidence given to him.

It is irritating that NOW he is acting as if he has had no previous knowledge of the key forensic evidence in the trial. IMO, again, this is sheer laziness on JS's part.
My guess is that he doesn't even know where the boxes are located and they have been gathering dust in an office closet someplace at 'dog bite' headquarters in Hartford.

Is this other attny sitting with MT explaining stuff to her in Spanish?
You're making me wonder how much that absolutely critical Spanish translator is costing CT taxpayers day after day.

Good try but I think it’s the overhead lighting. If you watch the video, as fd swings his arms back and forth by the cash register, the color of his lower arms and hands lighten and darken.

State asks if vacuuming a car would get rid of evidence. Objection. Outside scope. Judge now we're talking about car washes. "Car wash is not the key that opens every door. Overruled

Withdrawn
Witness steps down.
Didn't the car wash also detail the truck - which includes vacuuming or they have not mentioned that yet ?
I was unable to watch/ listen to it all today.

//Also:
Just for those who wonder if JS is any less annoying in person vs video - IMO he is more annoying and thoroughly exhausting in person. I stopped into the court for a few hours this week whiile in CT on biz.

I was there for the testimony of the court appointed woman who supervised the Fotus visit with the kids the Wed night before Fotis murdered her that Friday. He had a nasty edge of superiority with that woman also while carrying out his cross examination. That was the testimony where he fixated on the salad. "Well there was SALAD, RIGHT ?"
"And this other signature on the report, that's from your supervisor because he is your SUPERVISOR, CORRECT? "
(paraphrasing)

The beauty of being in person is that you can see it all occurring at once - you can observe the Troconis family/ the jurors/ the witnessess/ Carrie Luft ( Jennifers Mom not there when I was)/ the lawyers /reporters, etc. You also run into some of them in the elevator or hallway or parking garage. Pretty illuminating.

At any rate the point of this post is that IMO JS' antics are not lost on anybody in that court except for JS himelf and maybe his co- counsel. It s like he thinks he is the main character in his very own reality show. If I were one of his kids I'd schedule an appointment to have him evaluated. He cannot read a room and antagonized all the woman witnessess IMO. It was like he was striving to diminish all three. ( I know I know - he is trying to uncover any type of screwup - but his method and demeanor are so not respectful) Kudos to all three for more then holding their own !

For the two women retirees who testified, if I were them I would ask for more money from the lab for testifying after that performace byJS. Both women did a great job but they needed helmets and combat pay IMO.

At one point I saw him turn around out of nowhere while he was looking thru papers and flash Mrs T a smile who was sitting behind the defense table ( pretty small courtroom) - she responded with a closed lip barely there smile - it was chilly.

Whenever JS says " Well just briefly your honor - so that the JURORS are clear..." You see the jurors chairs start rocking bc guess what, the jurors are very clear - I saw them and they don't look confused. They get it.

Its JS who doesn't get it

All just my opinion

Thank you so much for the actual in person reporting! I ( we) have often wondered how the jury reacts to JS and his technique. Mucho appreciation-es ! <<<< that was translation for Michi and family.

Just curious. How old are the jurors, and male, female?

the issue with vacuuming is that it had nothing to do with evidence that is present. He’s trying to get witness to talk about the absence of evidence with a witness who was there to talk about evidence collected. He was being tricky.

The alts were not separated from the actual jurors - so eight total - 4 W 4M . I estimate between 35-50 ish maybe 55 ish. It is near impossible to actually glean anything substantial from just a visual .
But - my sense was that they are all taking this very seriously and will follow the testimony , evidence and law to reach a verdict. If I were on trial and just saw them as my jury - I would be fine. If that makes sense.

I am hoping to get back there one more time before all is said and done.
Just my quick opinion

Thank you for your first hand observations!

The car washing has only been mentioned tangentially. Perhaps that testimony is still ahead, complete with cctv of the galloping co-conspirators.

If the white hard substance turns up to be belonging to JFD ( for example a tooth or any biological part) can that be considered her remains? The family could use that for burial?
