His whole argument with the analysts -- obnoxious and also absurd. Flight of fantasy. If any of those hairs come back to the defendant....

Here's his argument, best I can map it. The City of Hartford is sloppy in that they allow just anyone to all willy nilly throw garbage into *gasp* city garbage bins where, unlike a laboratory with strict protocols, garbage twists and twirls with other garbage like some kind of Dante's Inferna orgy of trash hell. And since the defendant was sitting in the truck with a man (who she says what FD but her attorney would like us to believe is a different man with a white shirt, no logo) that, when he threw away trash, somehow the concrete mixer of trash spinners, took some epidurial cells (his words) and some of her hairs danced themselves into tied, taped and sealed trash bags and braided themselves into the scrubby side of a scrubber sponge. Because that's how transference works. Not even flyaway hair extensions even, but rooted hairs. Same way, I suppose, her fingerprints landed on the opening of a trash bag. Like they flew through the air and landed there.

It would be laughable if it were the least bit funny. Too, his objections over junk science and his love affair with the Moody case, which the judge already put out of its misery. Now JS is arguing that these analysts didn't do enough presumptive testing. Never mind that presumptive tests are for in the field and the lab uses screening tests and will always defer to the most sensitive, most confirmatory test if the sample is vulnerable to consumption. Hey, JS, if it's already been tested by LE in the field and it's marked for nuclear DNA testing, there's no reason for these analysts to conduct intermediate confirmatory tests! The rest of us understood that 37,000 words ago.

I notice also that JS is no stranger to leading with, isn't it true... despite his objections toward the State of the same.

Mostly I find I object to the defense.

Sustained.

JS 3-card monte - could also be drawing attention to that eyelash because it ISN’T MT’s. Get jury very much thinking that the eyelash is the smoking gun, then it isn’t related at all.
He is supposed to be very good criminal lawyer - and his strategy is exactly what he’s doing. Disrupting the State’s narrative with distractions and setting up certain evidence with objections, when it’s not even relevant. To get jury hyped up & the let down hard to get them thinking - none of this is relevant to MT.

So he started out with baggy oversized ill-fitting beige and brown suits. I noticed that on Friday, his blue suit seemed to actually fit. Started with long grubby hair, he’s also had a cut and seems clean.
What sort of strategy is this transformation? 100% certain someone on the team watches this & social media.

I was happy to hear from the Nanny that she is still with the children and Gloria today. Those children need as much love and stability as they can get.

I dont like JS as an individual or as an attorney. Seeing the way he treated the women yesterday confirms my thoughts. He is incompetent and snide. Thats a perfect defender for MT. Loved on the tik tok comment” where’d you get your lawyer from Craigslist?”
MT acts like she did nothing wrong. She did a LOT wrong. If her mouth is moving she is lying. She isnt sorry for anything. All my own opinion, of course.

Idk, on the clothing changes from "Esteemed Defence Counsel" my suspicion is that there is zero plan as he is operating the defence on the 'NO Plan Plan" strategy and most likely he might have finally found the time to go pick up his dry cleaning given that Court days are sadly so short.....

IMO JS has lost a lot of weight over the course of his taking the case - four years? I think those ill fitting suits are from his heavier days. The jackets hang off of him. He is very thin now - my Mom would say my God he's all bones. He is actually quite tall also - I always thought he was much shorter. Maybe the blue suit was a new one.

BBM above - I forgot to mention - in court I saw MT's father with earbuds in, watching the trial on his phone while sitting in the live trial. I am not sure as I was only there that day, but I heard someone say he does that everyday. For a bit I was sitting closely behind him and verified he was actually not watching something else. I was puzzled by this. There is an adjacent courtroom/ also used for overflow where you can go in to watch the live feed if you want to use your phone, tweet etc. Marissa Alter was in there. MT's Dad could easily go in there and watch - but I guess then his presence would not be felt in the court room supporting the daughter. It dawned on me he is the one watching to see how this is all being presented and how his daughter is being photographed. ( There are two photographers in the courtroom - a still photographer who roams around and then a contract worker who is filming for the Law and Order channel - and that is the main feed the other networks are using)
So when MT gave the death stare to the nanny while the nanny was exiting the court for instance - he would have caught that right along with the rest of us. It was mentioned on every platform I frequent so he may have seen all the chatter too. So imo, yesI totally agree they are monitoring everything media which is surprising since the content of MT's twitter is so ill advised IMO.
The family imo is very interested in perception/optics/PR. The day I was there they arrived outside the court room early and greeted everyone - mostly spectators - waiting outside the courtroom ( the doors open at ten)- it was very
cordial and intentional.

As if....in the world of JS, that from now on future criminals would be ever so cognizant to us the proper "receptacle" which shall now be labeled " CRIME SCENE WASTE HERE ", and prior to disposing of said waste, would be kindly diligent in wrapping in a tidy brown bag and labeled and initialed please.

Really ?? Where did he come from?

In wondering why the Prosecutors ended early on Fri is it because they want to wait to introduce who the evidence belongs to next week?

Aside from the DNA evidence, the fingerprint evidence, the tooth and Jennifer's bloody clothes, there were five hairs found in the trash bags. It appears the hair, with the root attached, on the sponge may be Jen's. What about the hair entangled in the knot? Did investigators find any towels in Fotis' home that's similar to the one found in the trash bag?

"A forensic scientist confirmed there were five human hairs among evidence collected
Vailonis said she analyzed hair-like fibers that were found on a white towel, a clear plastic bag with a blood-like substance, a sponge found inside a plastic bag and one entangled in a knot of a plastic bag."

The top looks like a molar to me. What is connected to it in the bottom pic? Paper, tissue ? Can’t make it out.
Just putting this image back in the thread. States Exhibit 51S1 corrected on the stand to 51S2 "hard white material" I believe:

Replying to my OP on this topic to remind that BLUE FIBRE was attached to this item and to follow to see where its origin might have been.

Filing away question about whether this "BLUE FIBRE" was ever found to match the Blue Hoodie that Attorney Jon Schoenhorn withheld from evidence and chose to not provide this item (or explain its genesis) to LE or States Atty for OVER A YEAR! To my knowledge he was not censored by the Judge (Judge R I believe), reported to State Bar or otherwise charged with hindering etc. Its just how he and his team "ROLL"....

Waldojabba, thank you for sharing! So interesting! I was wondering, was it easy to get a seat in the gallery? I can’t watch cuz of work, but I always figured that this is such a long awaited trial with much public interest, I imagined a line in front of the courthouse, perhaps a lottery for daily spectators, like in the recent Depp/Heard trial. Btw I’m glad to know that Ms Luft is in attendance. How hard for all of JF’s family and friends, to see and hear this evidence, and hear the utter disrespect by JS. Moo

The day I was there there was plenty of seating. I heard on others days you might have to go into the “overflow “ courtroom where it is on video
I imagine the big draws will be Pawel and Kent Mc if he testifies. Also the verdict and of course if the actual defendant testifies that should draw a crowd. Prob others I am forgetting
As a spectator it’s hard to plan though bc I am often unsure who is up the next day

Interesting, I suspect that is the case. He also could be hard of hearing and have an easier time hearing with his cell phone and ear buds.

Just putting this image back in the thread. States Exhibit 51S1 corrected on the stand to 51S2 "hard white material" I believe:
The words “Hard White material” caused me to wonder that if it was “bone-like material” or “tooth-like” is this how it would be described by the forensic people? I would think if it were bone or tooth material this forensic analyst might have looked at 100x and described it as possibly biological material.
Are they saying “hard white material” because it’s maybe a tooth veneer? Or a tooth cap from some dental work? And not bone- or tooth-like. Or part of something destroyed like a phone, part of a button, part of an earbud or item from JF pocket part of the safety seal from the bleach …

Wondering/ Was the “hard white material” the description given to it by the detectives in the field when they labeled it and sent it in? As I recall the initial description stays with the item throughout testing but I could be wrong ? JMO

Interesting question. IDK answer but maybe they just gave it a generic term to tag it and then would proceed with all the rest of testing needed to identify it and look for DNA. Just a guess on my part to follow along with other folks that had the same idea.
