As part of a plea deal in the Barnum case, Garofalo pleaded guilty in March to charges of manslaughter and tampering with evidence in the 2012 death of Barnum, 30, of East Hampton, Garofalo's girlfriend and mother of his daughter...

A woman walking her dog in the woods in Glastonbury found Barnum's body on Sept. 9, 2012, Zentner said. She died of "traumatic asphyxia by neck compression." Garofalo was familiar with that area of Glastonbury, Zentner said, and had a key to a gate for an access road that grants entry to the property where Barnum's body was found...

Gold sentenced Garofalo to serve 25 years.
