Oh no! If it is her, why do these men do these horrible things? That’s assuming her husband is involved. Like Kori17 was asking, does he have some connection to the restaurant? Seems like a random place to put her.
I wanted to look into that, but haven't had time to sleuth enough yet. It's an odd spot IMO.

Makes me sick to my stomach. To be literally dumped behind a dumpster, discarded like trash. Someone’s loved one, mother, daughter, etc. May whoever did this that had such little regard for life pay for their crime. I cannot imagine a child someday reading about their mothers untimely death and where her remains were located.

I know this happens more than I can imagine but I’m just so sad for the family. Thinking of them tonight.

I was just going to post that link. How horrible to put this mother behind a dumpster at the restaurant. If the husband does work there, he wins the stupid award. It is a very busy road, there has to be cameras everywhere, especially at the bank across the street. I'm wondering if the perp lead LE to the body. MOO

Arrest later on today I'd expect. These people are so stupid.

Probably thought he had a good cover when his daughter called him and said mom was not there and he was at work. Moo.

@ShaynahFerreira
@WTNH has learned new details in the case of the missing mother out of #EastHaven. Lizzbeth-Alemán Popoca’s husband worked at LoMonaco’s Ristorante in Branford where police discovered a body last night. Police still not confirming if the body is that of Alemán-Popoca.
The owner tells
@WTNH
the husband worked at LoMonaco’s for years and would know the restaurant closes around July 4th. Popoca disappeared on July 1st.

The article has said she was planning on moving out of the apartment they shared together. Sounds like they were having some problems and she was looking to leave with baby. Maybe he didn’t want her to
sigh...that's the most dangerous time in a relationship - IMO.

@ShaynahFerreira

Police confirm a body was found behind the dumpster of LaMonaco’s Restaurant in #Branford. The Chief medical examiner has arrived. While Police can NOT confirm if the body found is that of Lizzbeth Alemán-Popoca, authorities say her family has been notified
@WTNH
hoping the restaurant has cameras....

I honestly hope that little 7 yr old girl was sound asleep and did not hear or witness anything happening in that house that night - if anything did happen in the house. Horrific
to think about how totally tragic these situations are. And so many cases. The names, circumstances, living situations all different but the one communality - A wounded, damaged individual that cannot let go
and move on. IMO

Just to be clear, the "baby" is seven years old, right? Or are there two kids? I have only seen mention of the single seven year-old daughter.

I can't even begin to imagine the rage these women must see. Where does that come from? Assuming the hubby/boyfriend did it, I'm assuming this rage just didn't happen over night. Praying for the family.

All I've read is one 7 year old child.

Yes, not surprised, but very sad. My heart breaks for the little girl. Hoping an arrest comes soon. I'm expecting it very soon.
The sheer amount of cameras that are probably in that area hopefully make it possible.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The body found by investigators late Wednesday night in a shallow grave near garbage bins behind a Branford restaurant is that of missing East Haven mother Lizzbeth Aleman-Popoca, police said Thursday.

Aleman-Popoca, 27, was reported missing July 3 by her family and husband, Jonnathan X. Jara-Aucapina, who said she went missing in the middle of the night July 1.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday afternoon by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. A report on the cause of death is pending.

Patch was on the scene for hours as crime scene technicians and investigators from the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Squad flew a drone, took measurements and images, and put items in brown paper evidence bags.

At dusk, they took shovels — with a spotlight illuminating the area where police had earlier found "disturbed" earth — to dig in a small area littered with large garbage bins in the back of the parking lot at LoMonaco's Ristorante at 990 W. Main St. in Branford.
Body Found In Branford Is Lizzbeth Aleman-Popoca

That's such an odd spot to dump a body... LoMonaco's isn't exactly secluded, and is right on a fairly busy street with a bank literally across from it...
Another perp did the same thing recently, when I think of the case I'll come back and post. He wanted to keep an eye on the body and know if anyone was nosing around.
