The house tour she gave, and yes attorneys are called as witnesses when they have put themselves in that position.

A witness to what?

Any videos are owned by the media, not the attorney.

I'm attempting to find the correct place to ask this question, can't really find it so I'll do it here. Who is this Megan Wright who recieved a phone call from one of the missing cell phones on the night that Lisa went missing? Am I reading that wrong?

"I received a phone call, well my phone did, the night that baby Lisa went missing," Megan Wright said. "It was apparently a 50 second phone call. I don't know who answered it or what was said or who was on the other end of the phone."

Wright said investigators tracked her down and have questioned her four times.

"I told them that I'd been through the neighborhood with my ex-boyfriend," Wright said. "I didn't know the family, didn't recognize the pictures, had never seen baby Lisa until I saw her picture on the news."

Wright is the latest person to come forward as some sort of witness to the mysterious night. Three other people have said they saw a man carrying a baby dressed only in a diaper the night Lisa disappeared. While police have investigated these leads, no suspects have been named and countless searches have led to dead ends.

No, he didn't. He got lucky with a jury that couldn't bother to care enough about the case to really deliberate. Go to the Casey case on here and read up on it. I suffered through it for three years of hearings and the trial and I know for a fact that just because he got a not guilty verdict does not make him a good lawyer at all!!!!

But you're right, that's not here or there in this case, except that I hope Tacopina and the local lawyers are not using him as example. That is the worst thing that could happen to this case.

I watched the trial, so I saw him in action in the courtroom in front of the jury.

If it turns out DB and/or JI are charged and taken to trial, IMO following Baez is the best thing they could do. Dance, deflect, cloud the issues; that is what a defense attorney is hired for. Especially when they know their client is guilty of the charges.

I really think Baez getting the N/G verdict was a one off...location and makeup of the jury. Don't see it happening in another courtroom with another judge and a panel of moderately intelligent jurors.

If a trial comes about for murder of the baby, either the defense or the prosecution (or both) may need the video to show what condition the home was in, what was in the home and at what time period, the home may also be searched again, therefore this video is evidence. This video was filmed after LE was there, either side could need it. The film may be in possession of the media, but the Court may deem it necessary to properly defend or prosecute to show what is in the film. The film then belongs to the Court via subpoena, and any further Courts that may need it for Appeals, Habeas, or anything further.

A lawyer who is admitted in one state is not automatically allowed to practice in any other. Some states have reciprocal agreements that allow attorneys from other states to practice without sitting for another full bar exam; such agreements differ significantly among the states.

Reciprocity
Main article: Admission on motion

Many states allow for reciprocal admission to the bar of that state if an individual is licensed to practice in another state which also permits reciprocal admission. Additionally, most states require that the reciprocal admittee has actively practiced law for a number of years (often three of the last five years, or five of the last seven years). For example, New York permits admission on motion to applicants who have practiced five of the last seven years in one of 34 jurisdictions that allow reciprocal admission to applicants from New York.[9] Depending on the state, there may be limitations on reciprocity, such as requiring a minimum score on the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE), or even that the applicant have taken a bar examination in the previous jurisdiction. For example, Rule XIII of the Texas Board of Law Examiners allows attorneys practicing full-time 5 of the last 7 years in another state and who meet minimum scores on the MPRE to be admitted to the Texas bar without having to sit for the Texas Bar Examination.

Most states that allow reciprocal admission define "full-time practice" to include not only attorneys working in law firms or solo practice, but also law teachers in accredited U.S. law schools; military JAG attorneys; federal and state government attorneys; judges, magistrates, administrative law judges, and similar officials; and in-house corporate counsel. Some states, however, have their own quirks — for example, the definition of "practice of law" in West Virginia does not explicitly include in-house counsel within its scope.[10] Assuming that in-house counsel are not included, this means that a lawyer who has worked exclusively as in-house counsel is ineligible for reciprocal admission in West Virginia, and a West Virginia in-house counsel is ineligible for reciprocal admission in those jurisdictions that tie eligibility to the requirements of the lawyer's original jurisdiction.

Taken from the article.. It looks like he can practice in MO without taking a bar exam there..

Right. He can apply for the bar in Missouri under the reciprocal rules, but it is a process that can take weeks. You still have to apply and provide lots of materials including references, etc. You can't just waltz into a state, flash your New York Bar number, and start practicing.

However, if you want to work on just one case, you can apply for pro hac vice, where a local attorney will "sponsor" you and vouch for you. You would be working through their office. That is easier than applying for bar status when you don't really plan on practicing for more than just one case.

I can't believe LE hasn't held a PC on this. I can't be the only one who is aghast she is being allowed to just say I don't know who answered my phone, and "that's that, oh well, kind of wish we knew". Okay back to the important stuff like a dog hitting on a carpet and they won't let us interrogate them without their lawyers.

This is it. This call, to this woman is the key and it's being treated like no big deal.

(I don't know who she is. She doesn't seem to have any direct connections to the Irwins).

Not really gwen;

Parents of adult children pay for the adult's attorney. Husband's pay for mistresses' attorneys, attorneys pay for old clients new attorneys if they liked them, hookers pay the pimps attorney, strangers send attorneys money for serial killers' cases, you get the idea. It never need be disclosed where the money came from when you retain an attorney.

The attorney's only obligation is to the client, no matter who paid what to whom or why, even if the attorney knows where the money came from, which most times they do.

After reflecting on my answer, I think you are correct. However, I think we agree that no matter who is paying the bill, the attorney answers only to the client, not the party paying the bill.

Indeed it IS the key and hopefully LE sees that.

It went to voicemail, my take is that she didn't realize she had been called so she couldn't know who left no message for the 50 seconds the messaging system was active. Obviously it could be a pocket dialed call and most likely already been triangulated and eliminated or other by LE.

The parents are obviously key, their non cooperation is much more egregious than the woman who received the random call she never answered.

I am right there with you!! WTF? Who talked on her phone for 50 seconds in the middle of the night? If it wasn't her, I think she needs to have a long heart to heart with her boyfriend who may know more about DB than she would like! And if it wasn't DB who called this woman's phone, who did? This is HUGE!

Who is treating it like no big deal? LE has intereviewed MW four times (and DB even mentioned that the call was a part of their questioning of her when she was speaking with them, so it appears that they think it's a bit of a clue to say the least). The subject of the call has come up time and again today on this forum in multiple threads.

My bolding

When you say not being taken seriously, I take it you mean LE?

Wasn't this woman interviewed by LE four times? Just because we in the public don't hear every detail, doesn't mean that LE isn't taking it seriously. Nor should we know everything, although I admit I do want to know everything.

As far as what she said in her interview. I don't take every word as gospel. Some of it could have been nervous talk, her not being used to taking in front of a camera. i.e, saying I don't know who answered the phone. Or it could be more, but LE seems to be on top of it.

If her boyfriend was in touch with DB and she didn't know, DB did, if DB called her and she has an association with DB then the common denominator is always DB. There is a possibility this may be "something" but it always leads back to DB.
