I don't understand how this witness Mrs Rhodes, was told at the command centre on friday the 20th about Allison being missing and not connecting the screams, thuds and car wheels just hours before and she was a close neighbour, though that may be explained partly if she did she not know where Allison went missing from and therefore didn't make the connection then.

Nobody would expected to have a body dumped near their home. There was quite a time lapse between A going missing and being found. I think it is understandable.
edit - oops, near the home??? Whose home? I'm totally lost.

Hopefully Neil Roberts can clarify the situation with the FaceTime call and we can put that controversy to rest.

Poss, Mrs Rhodes lives near the BC house not the bridge. The things she says she heard were presumably at the house.

How bizarre. If you saw choppers flying around and news of a missing woman in a small, tight knit community and you had heard screams and strange things the night before would you not have thought about what you heard and while fresh in your memory would you not report it to police when questioned?
Today is not looking as good as yesterday unfortunately.

This is going to be a very technical witness. He's saying he uses a combination of hardware and software to get info from iPhone.

John Taylor ‏@_JohnTaylor_
Mobile analyst Robertson says he used software to make exact copy of all data inside iPhone. @abcnews #BadenClay Then he examined it.

Kate Kyriacou ‏@KateKyriacou
Tech witness says he used software packages to download the entire memory of Baden-Clay phone - SMS, pics, vids call logs. #badenclay

I think - and I'm making an assumption here - that when Mrs Rhodes, the Physio, referred to "I hope it's not the new neighbours" she was referring to the fact that THEY - the Rhodes - may have just moved there, NOT the B-Cs. And if the Rhodes were new to the area, then they may not have been "in" on all of the goings on, who was who, who was missing, what the search was all about, where Allison lived, etc etc. Hence her not putting 2 and 2 together straight away.

But that's just an assumption on my part, as I don't think you'd class the BCs as "new neighbours" otherwise.

If you see what I mean...

My concern with this and this is all MOO of course, is that sometimes people either A. feel a need to be involved and can convince themselves of anything or B. want to ensure 'justice' prevails at all costs.

I'm not pointing the finger at this witness in particular, but it seems quite odd that at no time during the search and ongoing media storm surrounding Allison as a missing person and the suspicion surrounding her disappearance did the witness even mention to anyone (seemingly) that she heard these things...

Maybe I'm just a cynic... :waitasec:

2.35pm: Neil Robertson from Queensland Police's electronic evidence examination unit has told the court he used a variety of hardware and software tools to extract data from Baden-Clay's mobile phone.

''If I asked you to explain the digital writing behind any of those software packages, you wouldn't have a clue, would, you?'' Mr Davis said.

''The inner workings of them? A little bit of a degree,'' Mr Robertson said, adding they were widely used.

Now THAT is the sign of a desperate barrister, if you ask me....

One of the programs Mr Robertson used was able to make an entire copy of the memory of Baden-Clay's phone, including SMS, photographs, videos and call logs.

Another program examined the phone in greater detail, showing different files and the last time they were accessed.

''The accuracy of what you end up with depends on the iPhone working properly as a computer - generating this information accurately,'' Mr Davis said.

''It was found to be working properly,'' Mr Robertson replied.

Exactly! It's like saying someone should be able to describe the inner workings of a car just because they can drive one. It's clearly not Mr Robertson's area of expertise. His expertise is applying the technology.

As I am a little confused as to who the Rhodes are and where they lived. I wondered if the Rhodes happened to have had new neighbours moved in and hoped it wasn't them making the noise..not necessary that she was even thinking of the BC residence at the time?

Can't argue with that Doc.......the day is getting worse for Mr Davis and Co.

It's quite evident to me that Davis is playing his role of defence lawyer very well. Trying to instill that element of doubt with each and every witness. Well it's not working for me and I feel that Mr. Davis will become more desperate as the hearing progresses.

Ali, does the prosecution question the witnesses at all or are we just going to be subjected to the defence questioning them?

MOO.

2.46pm: Mr Robertson said he knew the phone was operational because it turned on.

Mr Davis asked whether that was the extent of his examination to determine it was working effectively.

''So the Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and the Bachelor of Arts means you turn the phone on and that shows that it's working?'' he said.

Mr Davis asked how Mr Robertson could be sure that any of the log times for calls and other interactions were accurate.

''How can you say that it was accurately logging times?'' he said.

''What tests did you do?''

Mr Robertson said he did a series of tests using Baden-Clay's phone and a test phone by plugging them in and out of a charger and analysing the results to ensure both were recording the same results.

''Is that the extent of your investigations?'' Mr Davis said.

''Yes, with regards to battery charging,'' Mr Robertson replied.

Yes thats the way I took it as well UT.

Physio Rhodes says she heard loud angry voices. Couldn't hear what was said. Hopes its not the new neighbours. #BadenClay @abcnews
