I've just been doing a bit of research based on some other posts, and I'll need to be a bit cryptic here so I don't break any of the rules. But something I think is worth considering is where was GBC when he made the first call to the police?

IMO Nigelaine may have wanted GBC to plead differently and to stop the bull, hence their absence MOO

I'm so annoyed I couldn't stay till this afternoon. This sounds so much more exciting than fingernails ! :floorlaugh:
Wewillgetyou, I hope I'm not repeat posting but did you or anyone else there today think to ask media for a copy of the witness list?? Alioop suggetsed someone might ask. Thanks.

Ms Frost said in April 2012, Baden-Clay owed her $180,000 after having agreed to buy her share of the rental side of business. #badenclay

Another person whose life is turned upside down by this tragedy. Can you imagine realising you are NEVER going to see your Money? Not many can afford to lose that kind of $$

Good thinking Strangeworld. I've said a few times on here in the past that we only have his word that he was actually out driving around "looking for Allison". That's what he told the 000 operator. But in fact, he could have been "anywhere".... :what:

Wasn't it mentioned in the last few days that all the evidence (written statements, etc) form part of the hearing? So the prosecution may not need to question witnesses much because they would have already submitted their case in the written reports? The magistrate can then use all information to make a decision. Ali might be able to shed light on this.

Thank you and over to those in the know.

2.59pm: Ms Heath told the court she was asked by Dr Flegg to call Baden-Clay after he asked for a substantial loan.

She said she called him to say Dr Flegg was not able to lend him the money.

''He was quite distressed,'' she said.

''He obviously had problems.

''He was quite shaken in his voice, quite stressed.

''I actually felt Bruce was not in a position to have that kind of money.

''I knew that Bruce was very fond of him and if he could help him he would.

''He was understanding of that.

''(He said) if he didn't get the money he would go broke."

So many questions......and it's so hard to not discuss things not published in MSM. Google is unearthing a wealth of info at the moment - just can't discuss it here :)

2.46pm: Sue Heath, a friend of former Housing Minister Dr Bruce Flegg, has told the court she gave Baden-Clay a mobile phone.

Prosecutor Danny Boyle asked whether Ms Heath agreed with her statement that Dr Flegg was not aware of her handing over the phone.

''You say that you had not asked Dr Flegg,'' he said.

''That's not quite right,'' Ms Heath told the court.

''We did discuss it.

''We agreed that I'd lend him the phone."

Has there been anything said about GBC's clothing? With all the marks on his body Id think his shirt/top would have been torn, maybe a bit bloody, but of course you'd need what he was actually wearing that night to prove this. Id expect the clothing would have been disposed of pretty quickly :moo:

Long gone, I fear, and very swiftly disposed of. :notgood:

I think the forensic accountant, and the two former business partners up next into the witness stand will be the thing that makes Gerard the most uncomfortable.. he couldnt give two hoots about autopsy, shaving marks, dog barks, whatever..

But the inferences made by the forensic accountant will go to the heart of Gerards delusion of himself. I do expect the forensic accountant to outline the urgency of Gerards need to a big whack of money immediately, his inability to understand debit and credit, his amateur attempts at cooking the books, his mad juggling propping up this debt with that debt. His house of cards, in other words.

Which brings me to the horrible conclusion. .. that while the rest of Australia was praying and hoping for a live Allison to walk down the street, Gerard, and only Gerard was hoping, day in , day out, every minute, that the body of Allison would be found before his fiscal deadline arrived.. to put it in Gerard terms.. his million dollar payout was lying hidden under the Kholo bridge.. it had to be found to claim the money. He couldnt afford to wait a whole 7 years for a missing person to be declared dead by some finicky coroner down the track.

I often wonder if he actually considered dropping an anonymous tip to the search and rescue blokes. .. and how many times he folded and unfolded the insurance policies while this unbearable wait went on for so long. Of course, he rang them THE DAY after a body was found and before it was identified.. he knew, alright, whos body it was.

Making matters worse, I believe it was actually THE very day Allisons body was found that he was in contact with the insurance. Within hours of her body being discovered, but BEFORE it was identified as being Allison.. Keen much to get ones hands on the prize? MOO

Ms Frost said Baden-Clay bought her half of rent side of business but couldn't pay. By the time it should have reverted back, nothing left.

''Unfortunately landlords were leaving a sinking ship'' - Baden-Clay former business partner Jocelyn Frost. #badenclay

As has been pointed out previously, there might be a little bit of truth there, "Actually out driving..."
Didn't necessarily specify exactly what else he was doing whilst out driving... (possibly laying a traceable trail, or disposing of incriminating evidences. Or considering his possible day in court, proven evidences should be all that matter.)
And saying the words 'Looking for Allison" sounds about right for the occasion, bit like wearing his wedding ring in court. (Grieving husband and all)

I'm trying to be very careful here...Marly, keep me in line if you have to :) ....

Something else to consider is what was GBC's awareness of Allison's possible depression? Was he aware of her current treatment, did they discuss it, was he in a position to determine her state of mind? And was his assessment of Allison consistent across all contact with police?

All just hypothetical questions to ponder.... :)

I wonder if there are clothes he used to wear that no one has seen him wearing since around the time of Allison's disappearance.

Maybe the morning drive included disposal of the phone and the clothes from the night before?

Ms Heath says she gave Baden-Clay a mobile phone. Her statement to police said Dr Flegg was not aware. Now tells court he knew.

And there we have it..........ANOTHER phone!
