Slightly O/T - watching ID and heard out of the corner of my ear :blushing: the word "lime"
Murder of 20 year old Andrew Dotson (the lime comes from the movie
"Goodfellas" :thud: )
The show is "Fatal Witness" and here's the transcription from the end :
(male voiceover): Oh, and one more thing, Jim. Turns out you can't learn everything you need to know about getting away with murder from gangster movies (shows a man grabbing a bag of lime)
Prichard (Asst, Prosecutor): Conway, perhaps in some sort of tribute to his GoodFellas attachment, decided that it was a good idea to pour lime on (victim)'s body. There are two types of lime. One type of lime speeds up decomposition. The other type of lime acts as a preservative.
Conway chose the wrong kind.
Lowe (DA): The body was so well preserved, Dr. Fardal was able to say at the trial that, "Yes, this is the type of weapon that was used." Which corroborated Mike Arthur's testimony. The preservation of the wound, and the wrong kind of lime, was some of our best evidence, and we appreciate Jamie Horton and Jimmy Conway for doing that.

:moo: (speculation) could klt have gotten the wrong information about lime - based on the Goodfellas movie? Or from his previous time behind bars (or both)? Then, purchased the wrong chemical? Another awesome WSer mentioned on the previous thread that lime can be used for pickling (i.e. preserving).
I need to catch my breath. The coincidence of this is almost too much for me.
