Kirby, what do you think CJ meant by her comment? Was she crying? angry?

I'm so sorry Hailey that you suffered this fate. I pray those responsible for taking your precious life away will be dealt with in the most punishable way according to the judicial system. Rest in peace and know so many people where looking for you wanting you to be found alive, but someone evil had other plans and took your beautiful life away.

We have lost another beautiful child here on earth but heaven has gained another beautiful, shining Angel. When you look into the starry sky at night, one of those twinkling stars will be Hailey shining from above. RIP sweet child. Justice will be served.

Sorry if this has been posted but I haven't caught up reading all the posts. HTH Matou.

I don't like how CNN's headline for the story is "Missing cheerleader's remains ID'd". I may have mentioned this before. I feel like it's unnecessary sensationalism. Hailey was a 13 year old CHILD with a life and interests and passions. Not just "a cheerleader". Surely the most important thing about her wasn't the cheerleading. Why not just say "Missing teenager's remains ID'd"?

In a way I am glad we are instructed to lay off Billie atm ... I will be happy to find that she was not involved in any way, and even hope despite everything that it was not SA taking advantage of his position in Hailey's life to do this to her. I don't need it to be any one person but we do need whomever it is to be found and punished.

IMO even if he acted alone he will say she was complicit.
It will all come out in the wash,
I really hope she had no involvement.
I have always felt like he had her snowed about the whole thing.

Not a video link, but it has transcript of the entire interview with grandmother.

http://www.kcbd.com/story/22093946/grandmother-wants-justice-for-hailey-dunn

Still can't find which channel said Shawn was now a suspect, but I rewatched KTXS and they said, "Police state that they have a "suspect" in the case, but didn't give a name. Must have been KRBC that said he went from POI to suspect because it was the one I didn't record. Still watching KTAB's again, but haven't heard anything about an "official" suspect yet.

I posted it in my link above. HTH Connie says more in this interview about SA then the other one.

Please check the date on that article, 2012

If I'm understanding your post correctly, there were other remains found last year which have not been IDed as of yet. Or at least no one can seem to find any info about them being IDed. This was being discussed on another thread when HD's remains were found last month. HTH

Okay, I was flipping channels and watching 3 channels at once but I heard one of them say that Shawn Adkins has been changed from a POI to an actual suspect. Did someone else hear this and what channel was it?

Yes he was originally named POI but then it eventually became suspect. I remember this from when HD first went missing and then I heard it again tonight on this video. The young reporter said SA is a POI NOT a SUSPECT, but then the other woman reporter corrected that statement saying SA IS A SUSPECT.

Even though I hadn't posted to this case, I have followed it rather closely. Someone up thread asked about the multiple trips to Snyder that had been made before Hailey went missing. That is in fact true, there were several and a few after. It was admitted by Billie and Shawn that they went a few times to purchase narcotics. There was an actual ATM amount mentioned in MSM. I think it's safe to say their suppliers were located in that area. I read it again tonight in a CBS timeline. I will dig for the link, although it is in this thread already -- it's very much worth the read. It's simplified but straight to the point.

This case has always been hard for me because Hailey's age was the very best age of my childhood. My home life was nothing like hers but at that time I was so excited about all of the possibilities life can offer. I was learning so much in class, had fun playing softball and vollyball, and my best friend and I spent hours and hours in giggle fits over just about everything. It was before we hit the time to handle any serious boy relationships, had to worry about having the latest rage in clothes and hair styles. We were not as advanced as kids are today. Those years were also the years my daughter had fun. Many Friday nights where the only question was where the slumber party was.

Those are the things that go through my mind when I think of her and deep down in my heart I have always hoped that she just ran away but my brain knew to prepare for this.

:tears:

Hope now is for swift justice.

I am curious if the body was buried or not.

Typically if the victim is a family member or close associate, the body is nearby and/or carefully hidden.

If the perp is a random stranger or an incidental acquaintance, less care is spent concealing, the main thing is that the body remain undiscovered long enough for them to make a get away.

So, if the body was buried, then look at people close to her, if it was out in the open then someone not that close to her (or a stranger).

This case started long before I joined, and I've only read through it.. but I'm so relieved Hailey has been found and my heart goes out to those who loved her, including those on this forum who have been so tireless in their desire to find her. My hope now is that whoever did this will be swiftly brought to book.

Rest in peace Hailey.

I do not want to think about what that beautiful child went through!

Me either as I think it was brutal but hope her remains reveal something to nail the person(s) who did this most horrible deed of taking a beautiful child away from her family. Sucks...

A skull injury might be able to be proved or broken bones. A fiber possibly? A hair? It's been a long time but may they find something. Please?

Same with so many other cases. Praying for all.

I am afraid of this as well.
I did not like the tone that Colorado City Police Chief
Tinker Owens took about having counselors at the school
for Hailey's friends.
The way he said "aftershock"

It looks like the video was removed, but it sounded like her murder may
have been horrific.

I hope not!

(I am using the word "murder". I don't think she got where she was on her own)

I read the bones were "scattered" Does not sound like a burial site IMO, but if the lake was there two years ago and has since dried up she "could" have been placed in the water... (however I think she would have surfaced within a few months so...I am not sure)

I just heard the news on HLN and I got that terrible mixed reaction. There was an immediate pain in my gut accompanied by a small feeling of relief that her remains had been identified.

RIP, sweet Hailey and may those who did this to you be punished.

Did Shawn or Billie's coworker drive Billie to work the morning Shawn walked off his job.

In Shawn's "Bring Them Home" interview, he said his father and him worked for the same company.
