Decorah, IA - Bald Eagle Cam: Watch the babies! #2

  • #21
I am glad Dad is such a good fisherman, besides being easier to tear off and feed, it sounds better to me than rotten other flesh!

I wish I had something like this 100 years ago when I was in school and had to write a report on anything. I have learned so much just in the past few days - and it is so interesting. I am glad classrooms across the country are watching this too, learn the basic simple things in life. And besides their nest, they don't need much "stuff".

So, Finally seems strong! And almost looks to be in similar size as the others to me so far. I am wondering if Sassy and Wobble are boys and Finally is a girl :)

Also, the last 2 days there has been a ruckous at about 1:00. Like clockwork. We will see if this happens today too.

LOL Looks like Sassy is trying to escape already ... =)

I'm so impressed with how patient the mother is in feeding her babies - the one baby must have dropped the food at least five times and she just gently picked it up each time and kept trying to get it to the baby...it continues to be such an amazing experience to be able to view all of this.

It is SUCH a relief to see them all looking so strong now- Wobble certainly gave us all a scare for a day or two there! So grateful that they are all seemingly healthy now!

Big feeding right now! It's been going on forever but I haven't seen Finally get anything to eat yet. :( Sassy Pants is a big hog right now but Wobble Head is getting his share too.

Is there suppose to be (3). One is not feeding.

You can hear the owl in the back ground. Sounds like my house.

BBM - That's how I have been picturing them!

It's so cool how they curl their talons into balls when they crouch down to lay on the babies, just so they won't hurt them. Amazing instincts!

That's Finally, who is almost a week younger than the other two. She's not as strong yet and probably needs a lot more sleep.

Just notice the fish and some other animal (hope it isn't my yorkie) laying up there in the nest. How cool.

If something does happen and an eaglet does fall out of nest, a rescue would be made since this is being monitored. As per a mod in the chat room on ustream
