I've noticed they are sticking closer to Mom in the wind. Or else the parents made the bowl so deep they cannot wander around! LOL

I have noticed they stick by mama much more than they do with dad. On Saturday when my whole family was in tears because of Sassy being about an inch away from falling out, the very minute mama came back to the nest Sassy moved quickly towards her. I swear they know that mama is no nonsense and they better behave lol.

My husband calls the daddy "coddler" because he lets them get away with more. :giggle:

I saw that too! I thought Sassy was going to blow right off the nest, silly bird! I noticed Mom and Dad started building up the bowl after that.. The eaglets cannot escape Mom and Dad's Eagle Eyes :)

feeding time!

Sassy gets the most, Wobbles gets some, and poor Finally just fell over & hasn't gotten back up yet

  • #428
Wobbles wobbled his way in front of Sassy & got rewarded with a lot of food

baby F. is desperately trying to climb over his siblings but no luck yet

I wish Papa would reach in between & feed baby F.!

Yea poor lil Finally is a patient lil thing. "Hey, BACK HERE!" "Here I am" ((((flaps lil wings))) lol

I've noticed tho - the first two get fed first and once they are full - then lil Finally gets all he wants.

There must be a predator around tonight. Both mom and dad are there and staying. Seems they are on alert too.

Wonder if its a hawk or owl?

  • #434
both parents sitting up very alert

looking around, watching ...

for what seems like forever to me but I can't hear anything unusual

Maybe Mom and Dad feed the biggest first so he'll stop fighting with the smaller ones. With a full tummy, he is less likely to hurt the other two, cause he is no longer fighting for the food. It is probably safer for the smallest and weakest to be fed last so he doesn't have to compete. Mom and Dad know there is plenty of food so that Finally will have his share. Just a thought.

Feeding time! Everybody is wide awake and hungry this sunny morning. The wind seems to have died down. :)

ETA Dad just arrived with breakfast ...a fish (I think) Both parents are feeding the babies.
