Decorah, IA - Bald Eagle Cam: Watch the babies! #2

  • #541
Poor babies will be cold, snowy, rainy, and windy tonight. I'm glad these babies have such wonderful parents!

Mom is sitting there in the cold rain and strong winds, and her babies are completely covered underneath her. I loves these Eagles so much!!! They are amazing and an inspiration to me. I sure wish I could give them a nice warm place to stay, but I guess they are used to this. It sure hurts me to watch them in this kind of nasty weather.

I know, it makes you want to go and put a tarp over them and a blanket in the nest with them. These babies are so fortunate to have a mommy and daddy to take such great care of them. I think we will all be devastated if something happens to any of them.

Poor Mom looks wet, cold, and downright miserable.

Rain, snow, and wind with a low of 37 forecast for tonight. Poor mom looks like pitiful.

mom & dad have been double teaming with the feeding for quite awhile - it was cute to watch the babies turning around to whichever parent had food in their beak

one of 'em took off & brought back a fish and then took off again & may have brought back another fish (?)

and now a parent (hard to see which one with raindrops on the cam)
is finally settling in & covering the babies

it's gonna be a long, cold, wet, windy night ...

Hang in there Eagle family!!! I feel guilty for going to bed in a warm room tonight. Wish I could take them with me.

OH Poor Mama, was just about covered in snow. She shook a lot off, hope Papa goes fishing and lets her fly to warm up a little. I feel so bad, but they are sure doing their job.

The trees and nest are covered with snow, it is 36 degrees, very windy, and BOTH parents are sitting side by side, covering their babies! They are wonderful parents. It is not easy raising children and these Eagle parents are doing some awesome team work!

I bet all of that fish is frozen, maybe Papa can catch one somehow for breakfast ...

Bless their heart. Mama looks like she needs a trip to the beauty salon!

Eagles in Alaska deal with snow all the time. I think last weekends tornado warnings bothered me more.

I love this Eagle family <3
