Defense What is their strategy? #1

Pattymarie, that is impossible. To do that, it would require COURAGE HONOR and INTESTINAL FORTITUDE. And if you took the entire defense team, defendants, experts, etc and put them thru a sausage stuffing machine, you couldn't make even one sausage. Great thought tho....:)

Courage, honor and intestinal fortitude are exactly what this case needs for me to believe in our legal system again. Just imagine the collective relief for everyone involved if someone...her mom or dad or one of her lawyers persuade Casey to confess and stop this madness.

Please! This girl is far from innocent but I do believe that she had an accomplice after the fact. KC is not as smart as she thinks she is. Maybe she will blame it on an accomplice. Wouldn't that be nice? LOL

Maybe she'll point the finger at everyone, in turn, like she did with Klee's paternity. ;-)

however, she did order grape flavored kool-aide ..... so perhaps she needs some extra help!:rolleyes::waitasec:

Common sense would say that this so called "Dream Team" of JB's has to know she's guilty. They are all intelligent people and truly can't believe KC's stupid stories. I just don't know why they would testify for the defense knowing they are trying to save a "baby killer". They aren't getting paid either. Makes no sense to me. Does anyone have any ideas this just baffles me?

They due it under the name of having a fair trail, the meaning of that seems to be deluded and twisted, since when does a fair trail mean get the perp of guilty or not!

I can't believe that JB is still going to run with this defense!! This would be the time to start pleading accident or anything else! If he runs with this, there is NOTHING to go on, what a losing proposition this is going to be.

I doubt any man in a very high political position would want to be associated with the likes of Casey.
If the guy did have money Casey would have bled him dry by now. jmo

She wouldn't have to steal from friends to buy Target bras either.

I just read that story about "we don't know half of it".
If the defense team is going to use the "some other dude did it" defense and blame it on Zannie and her kidnapping sister, who managed to kidnap little Caylee, hold KC at bay, and still do it with two other children there(that is amazing if you think of it). They had better produce Zannie, or someone else who saw her, talked to her, and touched her. The jury at this time will want to see Zannie because the defense team has had 6 months to have an excellent private detective find traces of this woman. Her NY license that KC kept talking about. They have to convince that guy who used to work with KC but did not know her, that he had Zannie babysit for him and let KC drop little Caylee off with his babysitter Zannie. He just forgot all about it, and that he is a really great friend with KC.
If they are crazy enough to use that defense, instead of KC is loony as a toony defense, all the lies KC has told will blow that up, and their lack of Zannie will kill it too. Of course KC is loony as a toony, but she does know right from wrong, which means she is responsible for her actions. Still that is a better defense.
Oh yes, one other thing, since KC has no one left to protect except the murders of her precious child, now is the time to tell the police everything so they can pick these kidnappers, killers up. There is nothing stopping her now from telling the truth.

Except isn't she also saying she has to keep silent to protect her family?

Xanex and Sister same might grab Lee, in the park, throw him into a baby car seat, and take him away, next. Thirty days later, they come after George....

I have not watched many trials but Linda Baden did not impress me in the Spector trial at all. All reports were that the jurors were bored with her. ONE juror voted not guilty, resulting in a mistrial. In interviews after the trial he seemed "off". Unfortunately all it takes is one juror. I thought it was a slam dunk case against PS, but he was a celebrity in CA.

And the pundits gave Clark and Darden rave reviews during O.J.'s trial.

They ridiculed most of O.J.'s defense especially Bailey. As it turned out Bailey wasn't so dumb, he set up Furhman's downfall.

I didn't think Spector had a snowball's chance in you-know-where. IMO, to hang a jury with those facts and evidence is a major win. One hung juror is as good as 11.

I watched Spector's trial and thought Baden was pretty good. I, for sure, don't think she should be underestimated.

Maybe Kaylees' biological father is very very rich, and that's where Caseys' money came from, that's why she didn't have to work, and maybe to keep Casey quiet about who the father is, because maybe he's someone in a very high political position, the father of Caylee is paying Caseys' legal fees. I guess we'll have to wait until the trial. However it turns out this sure has the makings of a mystery novel.

That's IT! Xanex the Nanex IS the bio father! She had a sex change a few years ago. KC SAYS she has a lot of money!

We have a nasty history of letting celebs walk. There was also Blake. COULDN'T have been more obviously guilty.

There are limits to what a lawyer can present in court. The judge should be approving any evidence and theories before the juries hear it...

What if the judge cannot sit, because he got hurt when he fell off the bench laughing, while listening to the proposed defense?

Wow! That never occurred to me. I always assumed he knew Caylee was dead all along and that Casey was a liar and murderer.

I think I overestimated Baez'e intelligence. Who'd have thought THAT was possible? :waitasec:

Testosterone can cause brain damage, in some cases. :-)

Her silence sure didn't keep Caylee safe.

If she REALLY wanted to make sure George, Cindy and Lee are safe, you'd think she'd start talking to get the bad guys off the street.

Even the BEST OF THE BEST lawyers are going to have a tough time with the Zanny defense. It is dumb.

If there had been no Fuhrman, there might not have been a conviction.

Actually, Fuhrman was considered a first-rate detective. And, even the guys he arrested said he wasn 't a racist. He was a foaming-at-the-mouth sexist, however.

He later wrote that the weapon, a Swiss Army knife was sitting right on the edge of the bathtub. The first team that came in apparently lost it.

Which is why the defense team for O.J. was so good. They made Furhman appear to be a racist. The mistakes of LE were used to the defense advantage.

I think Casey is as guilty as they come and that Zanny is the worst defense I have ever heard of. But, O.J., Spector, the first Menendez trial, Blake etc. show how a good lawyer can go a long way with really unsympathetic cases and clients.

I think Casey will be dressed for prep school (dabbing her red-swollen eyes) and Linda K. B. will have her hands all over her with motherly, concerned pats during Casey's trial.

JB should be telling the whole story now. If he waits to tell it on court, he won’t have enough time to immerse people in Casey’s life. If only told in court, the real story won’t have any affect. He has to start laying it out now. Almost everyone agrees he should be telling the story.

What is the story?

What if Casey was being paid for partying? What if Casey worked for organized crime? Casey, a star in her field, supported both of her parents with the money. Her employers wanted Caylee and the grandparents who constantly badgered Casey out of the way, so a slightly illegal adoption was arranged where Casey had rights to see Caylee, which was the only kind of adoption Casey would agree to.

If Casey was in a business, and she had Caylee adopted through her employers so she could make more money, there is no reason to kill Caylee

And now you can explain all the strange stuff by saying organized crime did it. That brings up reasonable doubt. Everything Casey said and did from June 16 until now fit the idea that she was involved with organized crime. It would have been impossible for Casey to fake all she said and did, in order to make everyone believe the story that she was involved with organized crime.

Suppose Casey is a very lucrative worker for her employers in the sex business. When the adopters disappear with Caylee, Casey, who had made a simple deal with her employers to get Caylee as well as her parents off her back tries for 30 days to find out what went wrong. Why can’t she find Caylee? There was no reason for her to panic, because Caylee is being taken care of by her adopters.

That should be their defense, and JB should be laying out that scenario now.

The story is she was coolly working in a business, even though it is illegal and it’s bad; if she was in an illegal business making money and supporting her parents, that story makes Casey into cool purposeful and a loving daughter. Odd that working as a hooker would have that affect, but that story gives Casey no reason to murder Caylee and explains all the weird stuff like bodies appearing out of nowhere in plastic bags, and duct tape.

The story I just told can’t be told in court. It has to be laid out over several months, for people to absorb it. Why isn’t the Dream Team starting it now?
