Well, 'parted' has not so far occurred in Google translations of these accounts, as far as I remember, and 'partnered' always means something quite different though it has one similar component. Dismembering isn't exactly a concept that's subtle or culture-specific.

However, I did suggest that the original Danish word, 'parteren',might have more than one meaning and the computer had picked the wrong one. I don't know if our Danish contributors can comment.

I don't think the peculiar efforts of Google in this regard necessarily reflect the difficulties we are familiar with in human translation of words not directly translating into another language.
Luckily, as we are human, we know what was meant, so that's ok.

I always remember that years ago in school, in French I had said to the teacher, " je suis enteinte" to mean that I was welcome. (Like the phrase "enteinte cordiale" I thought) He got really embarassed and said you shouldn't say that. But didn't explain any further. I later got to realise that I was saying something like "I am pregnant". No wonder.

Not always. There have been several misunderstandings on this thread. (Including yours above?) These are not quite the same as our human malfunctions that we've all had in other languages - that's what I was trying to say.

The last piece of the puzzle is now found.
The police found the other arm today, and that means that KW's family finally can get some peace and be able to bury a whole person.

I am so happy for them - if happy is a term you can use in this context.
Just being close to those waters, you could not help gazing out there, wondering where Kim Wall´s body parts were located.
That is OVER!

Which misunderstanding of mine?

Me too. PM's attempts to dispose of Kim's body failed and those divers and dogs deserve a medal. Great news.

I notice the article states they are still looking for Kim's and PM's phones and other 'tools' . Perhaps they have not found the item that caused the 14 stab wounds as yet. Also, if their phones are missing, that is very suspicious and it looks like he gave them a "burial at sea" too IMO.

They really do - all of them. Also remember that the police have never had a case like this - even remotely.
Stellar job all around.
I hope they find the phones, but they are tiny objects on the bottom of the ocean - probably.

So she wants police to give a cause of death? Is that because she can't believe her client, because he keeps giving differing reasons?

Sounds to me like she is in sync with her wretched client.
They are counting on the forensic analysis not being able to determine a cause of death and that he therefore he can continue his fairy tales.
Can´t imagine what it must be like siding with this creep. Her job cannot be easy.
If she has a conscience, and I assume that she does, she must think about what it does to Kim Wall´s family not knowing how she died.
I don´t think Betina Hald knows how KW died, she just goes along with anything her clent says - it is her job.

You're right. It is her job. If the cause of death can be determined as not an accident or natural causes, and as he obviously got rid of the phones, she may well have advice for him.

Is that new info about the phones being missing because I don't remember that?

No, it is not new info.
Peter Madsen said himself early on that he threw his own phone into the ocean, as he had planned to go down with his submarine and wouldn´t need it.....
We all believe his reasons of course! :bored:
I don´t think he said anything about Kim Wall´s phone, but it was also mentioned early on that it was missing.

Interesting days next week.
According to this article the result of the mental examination of PM is finished on monday dec. 11.
If we are lucky we will be told in the news-media about how bad his mental health is.

Wednesday is a new court-hearing about his custody and a possible prolonging of custody.

Okay...!
We wont get any news about PM's mental state before they start the actual trial which wont be this year.
We will see what happens wednesday then. He will probably not be released then.

We dont have to wait until wednesday before we know if PM stays in custody because today they said in the radio-news that he voluntarily stays in jail for 4 more weeks.

There is also an article about it here:

The prosecutor expect to have decided around late december if they want to put him through a trial or not and for what....
We will know more then.

In the article posted above ^^ by Logical_Inference it says:

Already now the prosecutor has reserved time in Copenhagen City for the trial, which will start on March 8, 2018. The last scheduled hearing is April 25, 2018.

Don't understand - if trial is set for March 8th, why would the last hearing be in April.... after the trial??

It must be a translate-thing.
Here is another article about the same where it just states:
The case is pre-planned to start in Copenhagen's city in March. It runs on 8, 23, 26, 27 and 28 March, and 5, 23 and 25 April.

https://translate.google.com/transl...-madsen-bliver-frivilligt-i-faengslet/6954928

As usual the headline of that article is translated as total misleading. It should say that PM stay voluntarily in jail.

So from what I understand - the trial "could" start on the 8th or 23 or etc. until April 25th.

As I understand it the trial will start on march 8. Then the other days are the continuation of the trial and they then expect it to be concluded on april 25 2018, where we will know how much sentence he gets.
The prosecutor are working on the the documents of the case right now and expect it to be finished in the end of december, according to the radio-news.
So it will take more than 2 months with nothing before the actually trial start.

If I compare this case with the McStay case, then it seems that Denmarks system is much more straight forward and also has a faster way through the system. We arent that many people in our country compared with the USA so maybe thats why.
But I am not a court-specialist, so what do I know....
