My husband has been in the military for over 14 years and his DNA sample has never been taken. Why would their DNA be on file? Fingerprints, yes, but not DNA. I've checked on this in the past for another missing person case that involves a military guy.

Yes, I believe you are probably correct...even if it wasn't released via LE. Tim stated they were searching there because of the cell phone records and pings from the towers. LP stated the same.

Yuri may be following up on phone calls made to California via CA on those days to people we are not even aware of in this case yet. There are many possibilities, but I am certain there are good reasons for him to pack up and travel.

This is being handled by homicide detectives. OC doesn't have a missing persons unit.

Actually, OCSO does have a missing persons unit. That is who started the investigation and that is who continues to investigate - along with help from lots and lots of other people.
