Detectives Confident In Case Against Anthony

This gives me some hope that she will rot in jail and everyone will have some sort of closure. I think why it is taking so long is that LE is making sure they have every little detail in check before making a move and I hope it is soon.

If they need a body, why does it seem like they really haven't been looking for 1? Besides when TES was here. You would "think" they would be frantic looking for one. Then it would truly be "iron-clad".

Also does anyone know if JB is stupid, or lying? It HAS to be one or the other.

maybe they do have a body. If they did we probably wouldn't know about it.

No, TES is planning on coming back.. I dont think they do have a body and if they did that would have leaked from somewhere long ago....There are more leaks than a misting hose in this case.

I am really not surprised that they can determine the position of the body. The trunk was obviously cleaned but the carpet was probably never removed. The only cleaning she/they could have done would be surface only. I can not imagine what the underneath of that carpet looked like.

"Iron clad proof"
"Triple checked"

They're building it so airtight. Who thinks the fraud/check charges were put in place to shut Baez up, keep him busy and out of their way so they can do some real work?

I want to know exactly how it happened too.

But I think Casey will never talk. Scott Peterson has never said anything about how Laci died and I think Casey will act the same way. Probably saying she is innocent once she is charged.

Yes, but KC is extremely spitefull, and once she is convicted (crosses fingers) and she realizes shes going to prison for life (or worse), and has nothing else to lose, I think she may tell her Mother and family what horrible things she did just to make them suffer..She obviously wants them to suffer even though they are playing this nutty cat and mouse game in that house of horrors they are living in.

Seriously, if LE "knows" how she was in the trunk and that her hair fell out after death..(sorry for the graphics). WHAT MORE T'S ARE THERE TO CROSS? WHAT MORE I'S ARE THERE TO DOT?
Not yelling....just emphasizing..

The have to prove Casey put her in the trunk and Casey intentionally caused her death. It seems obvious but I guess they want to make certain there isn't ANY reasonable doubt. They want a murder one charge to stick and they need a conviction. It is extremely frustrating but I'd wait a long time if I were guaranteed a conviction for murder one.

Okay so we have:
No motive: I thought that's the thing they did have....
No Body:
No Murder Weapon

In common law jurisdictions, murder has two elements or parts:

the act (actus reus) of killing a person
the state of mind (mens rea) of intentional, purposeful, malicious, premeditated, and/or wanton.

I can see where a lawyer can spin this to show a jury reasonable doubt with what has been released. Does anyone know if there is a precedent for a case without those 3 things?
Yes. However, they can prove motive in this case with the photos of her partying and the rest of it. Freedom appears to be the motive and her obvious jealousy of CA's relationship with Caylee.

Logan Tucker's body has never been found. Here is a snippet of what they had for evidence to present at her trial. His mother, Katherine Rutan Pollard, was convicted and sentenced to Life w/o Parole.

Authorities say Pollard told various stories to people about her son’s whereabouts, ranging from him being in DHS care, to being with his birth father. Others were told Logan Tucker was camping with her brother inVermont or Pennsylvania, or was sent to the Brown School in Tulsa, none of which was verified.

Allegations that Pollard borrowed a shovel and some plastic and left to dig wildflowers, which she never brought back on June 24, 2002, were stated in an affidavit filed with the court clerk. The grandparents were concerned enough over not having heard from Logan to ask a deputy to do a welfare check on the boy on July 7. The next day deputies searched Pollard’s car and found a large plastic sheeting, some cotton rope and a bottle of drain cleaner, but no Logan. Pollard was staying at Melody Lennington’s residence in Woodward where deputies also found masking tape with hairs stuck to it and what appeared to be blood on it in the basement. A DNA analysis found the blood to be consistent with hair belonging to an offspring of Robert Tucker (Logan’s father) and Katherine Rutan Pollard.

Pollard’s four year old son may have witnessed her take his brother in her car to a field where she allegedly went to bury him. The boy said his brother was in the backseat of the car sitting up, but not crying or talking and his mother carried Logan with her but did not bring him back to the car.

Been thinking...
To determine the position of the body, how do they do that?
Got a theory (and a very useful nurse in the family) If they have brain matter in the trunk, that would tell them where Caylee's head was lying, and if they have urine or fecal matter present, that would tell them where her lower half was laying. If she was beaten or sick and coughing up blood, then that would tell which direction she was facing. Of course for there to be brain matter, Caylee would have had to have suffered a very traumatic injury, but that may be the forensic evidence that they have been holding back, because once your brain matter leaves your skull, you are undeniably dead.
That's my theory for today, I thought I would get it out of my system early.

You make a good point. The same thing has been said about Brooke Wilberger. Her body has never been found. That the lab detected human body things in the van that proved she is dead.

My thoughts also are that they are still searching for a body, and along with charges, LE would like this family to have a proper burial..I think they have invested so much time into this, and it is so deep within their souls, they feel that along with a murder charge, they need to lay this child to rest..I do think they will hold out as long as they can if for no other reason, but to have this baby laid to rest..
I am thinking that once Casey realizes that she is had no matter what..maybe she will tell where she laid her body..least, that is what I hope..and if they knock 15 years off her life sentence for telling where the body is, I can live with that, she will rot there anyways..

maybe they do have a body. If they did we probably wouldn't know about it.
We most probably would know. I'm afraid I don't think there is a "body" left to find.
I think they can determine the position from any fluids left in the carpet. JMO

It's interesting that the part they state is not iron clad is a motive.
After reading the transcripts the motive became pretty clear.
Caylee was an interference.
They also mentioned criminal intent as something that is lacking proof thus far. I take that to mean the difference between murder and manslaughter charges? I thought they didn't need a motive to bring murder charges. I guess without a body you need to have as many other bases covered as possible.

I think it could be both!

Wow that is similar, but there is a 4yo witness who saw his mother do it and drain cleaner.... This case, no witness and no chloroform...I just want NO REASONABLE DOUBT

Yep. Criminal intent or accidental. Premeditated or mental snap.
All may come down to LWOP or DP.

I think so far, except for the motion he filed prematurely and a couple of other things, he has done his job as a defense attorney. I don't think he is stupid. His job is to spin her story and bring in reasonable doubt to the Prosecution's case. If his client is a liar...well...it is what he has to work with and his case will follow her storyline.

KC has been given the opportunity to admit to an accident. So when they go to court and prove that she was the last one seen with Caylee AND they prove that the baby is no longer with us because of the evidence found in the trunk AND they dont have anyone else with motive or opportunity to commit the crime I hope they go for first degree murder and not 2nd or 3rd or even manslaughter. Her economic crimes with get her more time in jail then the lesser murder charges.

I think she would do the opposite. Not telling her family where Caylee is would torture them wondering for years to come. JMO

I think so. With no body you should have all the other bases covered. I am afraid that if choloroform did kill Caylee intent my be difficult. It could be used to sedate or kill. Maybe the type of searches done on cholorform would reveal intent. Let hope so.

Is it an accurate assumption that when the evidence is presented to the defense team, Casey/Baez may change their story and go the accidental route for a lesser charge?

I think they are waiting for TM and TES to return to see if they can recover the remains and determine the cause of death. The last I heard they were waiting for the water to go down. Does anyone know when they will return?
