I just want to say that the discussion about the shooters "look" is really bothering me. Mental illness is on the inside. Evil is on the inside. Blank looks do not equate an empty soul. Unattractiveness doesn't equate evil. Brilliance doesn't equate good. Books cannot be judged by the cover, yet it happens all the time here, to the disservice of the obese, disheveled, and often times disabled.

Yes, a killer can possess a normal, even attractive demeanor.

And those who are fat, dirty, or have asymmetrical faces are not inherently evil.

Something really does not add up here. If he was the one that took the phone call, and went to the exit people would have seen him come in with all his gear on. Since that has not been reported then it has to be SOMEONE else that took that phone call. This just is not making sense!!!!! Plus he door is locked from the inside! Someone would have to open the door.

Another possibility is he could have been the last one out and left the door open somehow, BUT this does not add up as far as the guy taking a call at at the side door

My bet is he is mentally ill or mad/angry at something that happened to him (he had to drop out of school last month for some reason) that he felt was unfair. I dont see any attempt to influence a government or any particular group of society in furtherance of political or social objectives.

Although I suppose that could change as we get more information.

IIRC, from the live feeds earlier, he hadn't dropped out of school, he was just in the process of it.

This was a first showing premiere, that being the case I wonder how many people first thought this was some sort of special side show for entertainment purposes, at first.

If anyone in there had been carrying a sidearm it may have saved a few lives. This is the reason you pack heat.

catching up so sorry if this has been addressed but unfortunately most states don't allow carry into locations that require a fee for admission. also this theater was a no gun zone so if you were a law abiding citizen you would not have been allowed to have your gun. too many restrictions for citizens that are just trying to protect themselves when obviously criminals don't care about these restrictions.

Per CNN speculation. He purchased a ticket and entered the theatre. Left by the exit and propped the door open. Went to his car which was parked behind the Theatre and geared up. Luv Mike Brooks he is such a voice of reason and experience. Perhaps today's presser with LE will confirm.

i thought all emergency exits if opened an alarm would go off, why wouldn't this door have an alarm???
