catching up so sorry if this has been addressed but unfortunately most states don't allow carry into locations that require a fee for admission. also this theater was a no gun zone so if you were a law abiding citizen you would not have been allowed to have your gun. :( too many restrictions for citizens that are just trying to protect themselves when obviously criminals don't care about these restrictions.

I've had this discussion with a couple people today (not here), and you are correct, and I do believe I read that this theater had a no firearms policy.

i thought all emergency exits if opened an alarm would go off, why wouldn't this door have an alarm???

I know in the case of the theaters that I have worked at, those signs were up, but were not armed, as in they did not alarm, even though the signs said they would. Basically they were used as a deterent.

It's common for the emergency exits in theaters to not have alarms, so the foot traffic can go straight out to the parking lot and avoid the lobby. I know that any time I've been at a big theater, I've used the so called "emergency" exit to avoid the crowd.

Porta potties being delivered to the suspects apartment area for fbi and police personal, this states that they are going to be there for days not hours.

Depends on how the movie theater is designed. I've seen some that only have emergency exits like you've described. But I've also been to a few that have exit doors to the outside of the movie complex. An employee will come in towards the end of the movie and open the exit door for patrons to leave. Its designed to prevent movie hopping.

Daily Mail reporting this, though I've not seen it elsewhere and it's unattributed, source-wise, here:
---
Holmes had one song blaring from his stereo in the hours before the massacre and left the music on repeat in his booby-trapped apartment as he departed to commit the massacre.
---
Mail also has a sidebar about a Batman comic in which a shooter opens fire at a theater.
The Dark Knight cinema massacre may have been inspired by a Batman comic book strip, it emerged on Friday.

The bloodbath is a chilling copycat of a 25-year-old Batman comic strip which features a deranged gunman opening fire in a cinema.

Those signs in the movie theaters are just like locks on our doors...It only keeps the honest people out.

I too have used the "emergency exit" to get straight to the parking lot. I notice a lot of people do that.

More on my last post...

I don't mean people leaving the theater that way, I mean people trying to get in that way!

So where was Batman when they needed him? Apparently all of the Bat technology failed these folks. And others who prolly knew about this monster failed to tell on him. JMO

Went in with ticket, then exited the theatre through a back door, propped it open, got the car, drove it around to the back door entrance, got his weapons, went back into door, went into hallway and back into theatre.

Just wrote down what was said off this link:

Not ready to release booking photo, not sure when it will be released.

That has me scratching my head. DH says it is because they roughed him up. I wonder if it is because he did dye his hair red.

Who knows...

I just want to say that the discussion about the shooters "look" is really bothering me. Mental illness is on the inside. Evil is on the inside. Blank looks do not equate an empty soul. Unattractiveness doesn't equate evil. Brilliance doesn't equate good. Books cannot be judged by the cover, yet it happens all the time here, to the disservice of the obese, disheveled, and often times disabled.

Yes, a killer can possess a normal, even attractive demeanor.

And those who are fat, dirty, or have asymmetrical faces are not inherently evil.

Whoa: No one's saying unattractive or fat or dirty people are inherently evil or that blank stares mean blank souls.

Listen, IMO, appearances of killers or people who do horrific things are very, very important. I have been taught since I was small to use and hone my powers of observation. IMO, everyone should.

There is, often, a common "look" or similarities in expression, to people who do things like this. There is, often, a common look or similarities in expression to people who are evil or people who have suffered a psychotic break, have been brainwashed or whatever. I think conversation about that look is important because if you can catalogue it and file it away, if you ever notice that look in a family member or friend who is suddenly acting differently or in a stranger who is acting oddly, you may be able to do something that could save yourself or the person you know.

I can't say if this person is sane or not, or just evil, but something in his eyes and smile looks a bit like Jared Loughner to me.

Does that mean that everyone who suffers from a mental issue has a look? Of course not. Does that mean that "normal"-looking people can't be killers, or can't be evil? Of course not. But appearances can tell us a lot. And those trained in observation, like the Israeli forces at the airport and air marshals, well know that.

Are hey suspecting that he may have booby trapped campus building as well???

I'm wondering if that station got their info wrong because the school isn't saying anything so far.
