I am trying to figure out why Tenn. plates, what happened between San Diego and coming to Colorado for school. What is in Tenn? Did he have a love gone wrong, I am always looking for the "snap" factor.

I've tried to read as much as I could of this thread and if this has been brought up, I missed it.

Lots of bad bootleg copies of movies get made at these early shows so was wondering if its possible that someone might have captured the events given the way I understand the shooter entered. Might answer a lot of questions, if so. JMO

Great question HH! Our neighbor has a friend who sends him bootleg copies of movies and he always tries to get us to watch them with him. Mr. wm and I won't watch as mR.wm is a film industry employee and is adamantly against bootlegging.

It would be great if such a copy exists but I have doubts that anyone would come forward as it is a federal crime IIRc.

During the Press Conference - Colorado Sheriff warned to social media that there were many hoaxes. He said someone already called media to answer questions and claimed to be him.

I'd be stunned if there was no history, obvious or obscure. Many people suffer from depression and other degrees of mental illness but would never think to kill. To plan to walk into a theater and open fire with massive firepower is off the charts. I'd be shocked if this wasn't some form of psychosis. To me, his eyes looked drugged; don't know if its recreational or scripts but I see something going on there. His message? If he has a message it might only make sense to him. Just a horrible tragedy. twocents:

I completely agree in it being a horrible tragedy. A horrible senseless one, like his message will be. Sad, because someone had to have known he needed help. But, it's not their fault. Now many are mourning and traumatised. Many are suffering PTSD and who knows what else. He fractured other's lives. How many of these people will feel like going out to a movie right away? How many are going to re-live this over and over? Sad and senseless.

I am just always hoping their is some sort of key that will be given for others to prevent this from happening. Well, there is and no one wants to believe that someone they know is at the edge. I guess it is sort of in the que of natural distasters and can not be prevented.

Oh and FYI,
There are so many pills out there that make a psychosis worse. PMS is being pushed as a treatable mood disorder -to be added to the DSM. *cha-ching* And how Victorian!

I would think/hope the feds would look the other way in this case. From what I gather from the "kids" around here its pretty common on these opening nights to see people videoing these blockbusters. I feel for Mr. WM as this is gonna impact the film industry. We have short memories but this kind of assault will resonate for a long time. I still can't believe this happened.

And in my experience in life the good RARELY actually win, they almost always lose and the bad guys, the *******s etc almost always win, at least in the short term I cant speak of what happens after all this.

This is not meant to be directed at you Lava, but hearing they have pulled the trailer for Gangster Squad just reminds me:

I'm just going to say this, and I know some will think I'm backwards and too judgemental, but I, for one, am sick and tired of the violence that is constantly spewed out via these movie previews and commercials. It makes me ill to go see a movie that I have researched and felt comfortable with (which, for me, means no violence, no paranormal themes, no vampires, no cruelty) and then have some of the most god-awful images thrown in my face via the previews and commercials. The fact is that our society is addicted to violence through the media and yet we are shocked & outraged when our citizens play these scenes out in real life! I am not blaming the media for the shooting. I do blame them for peddling some of the most disgusting and vile things that man can conjure up. Our society will become more and more like the things that we fill our minds with and that's just a sad reality.

And, it's sickening to think that the suspect was sitting there watching the trailers before the movie was started! It's chilling to think about him watching that and having his own plan in his mind.

Something has to give. This event calls into question issues of (probably) mental health and gun control. I'm sorry but there is NO earthly reason for a civilian to LEGALLY acquire that kind of weaponry. I don't think our forefathers had this in mind back in the day. People have to be alert to the behaviors of their own family members, friends coworkers etc like mad these days. I guess the fear is that so many make idle threats that one would be infringing on their rights or something. We are too $&(#$@@ politically correct anymore. And yes drugs can create bigger problems than they're supposed to solve. I agree that a lot of killers or people suffering a psychotic break down have the same stare. This being my opinion. I always cover the bottom of their face and look at their eyes once photos are put up. I also look through older pictures, when posted, to see if the eyes were always that way (usually not) and when they changed.

His right eye appears to be offset.Instead of turning inwards like a crosseye it goes outwards a bit.Just my opinion on his eyes.I don't know what that is called but I have seen that before in others.

Who gets the job of deciding who gets to be put away? Who is going to pay for all of this? I dont think locking people up like that is the solution but I appreciate the suggestion, IMO it does seem like the cowardly way of dealing with this problem.

While I have no doubt that your intentions are good, what you are suggesting would be extremely expensive and difficult to enforce and probably very unconstitutional too.

My family and I are supposed to be going to see a live band here in an hour. I am just down about this situation, I normally will be strong and not allow something like this to stop what I plan on doing. So, I asked my son, "do you want to go?" he feels like I do. In his young words, he said, "Mom out of respect and this whole day is a buzz kill, I don't really want to go". So we will be sitting this one out, I guess its a time for mourning in a way. IMHO
