That made me think of something. The girl from downstairs thought the door was unlocked. Did he deliberately leave it unlocked in the very hope that someone coming to complain about the music might push it open?

ETA: Just jumping off from your post, question not directed at you, jjenny.

I believe so. I think it was left unlocked on purpose.

Just read that the mother of the 6 year old who died is pregnant- said her and baby are clinging to life. How terrible.

Yes, I read on abclocal the fetus survived. She was told by her mother and a chaplain today that her daughter was dead. She was shot in the neck, and is paralyzed. She was unemployed, and has no insureance. Her father died 8 weeks ago also.
There has been a fund set up to help with funeral expenses and medical bills:

Read on another site that using his hotmail email preface, a YouTube account was found, but only with a deleted video link. Just impressed at the online sleuthing people do!

Please don't do that wfgodot. Thanks.
We will roll with it if things change. But imo, LE has been very careful to keep the name out of the media.

'Out of this darkness a brighter day will come': Obama comforts families
of Colorado massacre victims as he hails heroics amidst shooting horror
(Daily Mail)
---
During the brief visit, just under 2 ½ hours, he met with Jordan Ghawi, the brother of victim Jessica Ghawi. Mr Ghawi has been urging the public not to glorify the massacre by naming the shooter, asking that everyone focus on the victims instead.

'Sat down with President Obama. He has been incredible. He too has agreed not to mention the shooter's name,' Mr Ghawi tweeted.

Her story is one of the most heartbreaking. Let's keep her in our prayers. I hope the baby will be help her have hope because this poor woman has gone through the darkest darkness.

Did anyone mention already any video/security camera for the Century 16 theatre? Seems like JH knows exactly where to park his car on that theatre 9

I will have to search to find the link to back up what I am about to say.. it was reported that James actually had iinitially parked out front of the cinema and entered through its front door purchasing a ticket to midnight showing in theater 9..he sat amongst those he knew that in a few short minutes would be at minimum filled with terror. .fear ..and pain and at most would be dead at his hands.. the witness next to him said that AFTER THE PREVIEWS were over and right as the actual movie began to play tthat the shooter gets out of his seat appearing as tho he was going to take a call from his cell at which time many notice that he strangely chose to leave out the emergency exit to the right of the screen..

it isn't stated as such but imo he obviously kept the emergency exit from fully closing.. it was reported that at the time he exited out of the door to the right of the stage that he then walks around to the front parking of the theater to his car. He gets into his car and drives it around the back of the theater and parked it outside the emergency exit of theater number 9 ..he dons all of his tactical body gear and gas mask. .grabs the assault rifle with atleast one 100 round drum cartridge. .a remington 12 gauge shotgun.. with shells.. and he takes 1 of the glock handguns from the car along with multiple clips of ammo for it..

He then enters back into the theater thru the emergency exit to the right of the screen and upon entering he immediately throws 2 grenades(atleast one grenade emitted tear gas) ..as the smoke and gas began to fill through the first few rows he fires one initial shot into the air.. after this he begins to descend into his madness of murder first using the 12 gauge shotgun.. witnesses say he continues to pump and reload shells into it over and over until at some ppoint he begins firing the assault rifle...not certain how many rounds he got off before the assault rifle jammed.. at which point he was forced to them continue shooting with the glock handgun..

IMO his reason for initially parking up front was for the simple fact that out back of the theater I believe he worried his car might bring attention to it being parked where it shouldn't.. thereby possibly interfering or thwarting his plan.. I believe that's exactly why he didn't drive the car around back til the last moments prior to re entering the theater...

Aurora theater shooting suspect acted alone, police chief says

"All the evidence we have, every single indicator, is that . . . this was all Mr. Holmes' activity and he wasn't aided by anyone else," Oates said on CBS "Face the Nation. " "We're building a case to show that this was a very deliberative process by a very intelligent man who wanted to do this."
The relationship between the person questioned by police Saturday and Holmes, the chief said, was "really inconsequential,"

This is a little o/t, but wouldn't it be the polite thing to do to go to the closest exit to take a call? I have a flip phone, and opening it up would cast a very bright light that you'd think would bother people after they have been in the dark for the previews to a movie. Carrying it all there way to the proper exit would bother quite a few people if the call taker was right up front.

I'm not saying JH was doing that, not at all. Just a question...

You could just press the phone against your body and there would be no light. The polite thing to do would be not look at your phone but it's the movies, some people act like jackasses. They don't care if you're bothered.

Amazing, isn't it? In the midst of the horror and the disbelief.........we rally. As a people we rise to it.........always. Is this the lesson? Evil can strike but will never prevail? I wonder?

I wonder, too. I'm continually amazed at the depths of depravity humans can sink to on one end of the spectrum, compared with the heights of courage, compassion, and selflessness they can achieve at the other end.

All I can conclude is, we are one weird species.

:blushing: steps off soapbox

OK guys I need help with something if there are no moderators around in the coming days. There is not always someone here.

I am hearing that a certain group, that will remain unnamed, is threatening to protest funerals for those killed in this massacre. They threatened the vigil today-but don't think they showed up.

We are not giving them ANY airtime here.If it happens or if it is threatened we are not giving them the attention they want. Don't post about it,please.

So, if it comes up-please alert members to remove their posts or contact a moderator if they can't or aren't around.

Please don't even reply to this post. Bump it whenever necessary and nicely tell fellow members it is verboten if they post.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

There was no central registry, depository, or linkage system in place to report or compile any of this. Well actually there are parts and pieces of one with many noticeable deficiencies. Anyone could report suspicions to the FBI or homeland security and leave it up to them. The gun side has rules and regulations administered by lawmakers and individual people who had some suspicions. There were enough hints that someone different in the same situation may have gone a little further into checking on him, reporting on him, and may have triggered some investigation. The signs were there as said, people were suspicious as noted by the university profs statement, he first thought of Holmes.

We evolve as a country through experience. Maybe we can't deal with this sort of thing yet but maybe we can learn from it all how to for next time. Laws can change, investgative bodies can learn, computer systems can be modified to better collect, catch and collate information. (if we know what we are looking for)

In this case there were some pretty high powered eyes on him. He was in the middle of a high level psych class, his professors supposedly some of the best in the business. His grades plumetting, from top of the heap to dropping out in a very short period of time. His courses included studies on abberrant behaviour.

The mentorship program is an explorable and demonstrable connection. Very early a mentor is noted in his first temporal illusion discussion. Will have to go back for the link but it is in a video showing the cover of a mentorship.

Just saying, this isn't just any class where this sort of thing can be brushed under the rug so easily. The thing they are trained for and are in training for to catch sits right in front of them. Mentorship is a close up right in your mind experience.

Yes and thank you for once again just reinforcing my point.. As you say above the signs and suspicions WERE THERE.. Yet no one person or group knew ALL OF THE SIGNS THAT WERE GOING ON..

No registry or depository will fix that particular issue.. Yes better linkage and registries concerning purchase of artillery/ammo should be better implemented(especially when bought in such a small amount of time).. That IMO if in place could have intervened.. Especially when he began purchasing products for explosives.. But I stand firm that no one person or group is privy to all of the signs.. Yes that is the case here and that specific issue is not easily remedied with tighter registries, depositories, or linkages..jmo.

No doubt, we are talking a bit of apples and oranges here. I am not saying all of those individual bits and pieces needed to be included in one place for someone to make a determination, only that if one important piece made it to the right place to trigger an investigation, all the others were there to be found. That may have prevented the outcome. I am future watching and future speaking as to what can be done to prevent this sort of thing or at least to catch it in time. We can only learn as we go. Individuals play a huge role the way one may act as opposed another. If someone the prof or range owner, gunshop manager, online ordering system alerts, or whoever had reported suspicions, this may have been a minor footnote in the local news of the apartment found stuffed with ammo.

There were suspicions from multiple sources, any of the main individual points of suspicion may have been enough on their own to trigger an investigation. Cumulatively, there is obviously an overabundance.

BBM my own quote

I think the shooter's study about temporal illusions at a time when he was probably experiencing "losing it" was part of the problem.

There's a second video from a psych expert's comments after watching the video.

That video is from six years ago. He managed to graduate college at the top of his class since then. Nothing suggests he was experiencing "losing it."
