Did Morphey know what he was involved in?

According to the below linked article:

About 11:20 p.m. Oct. 29, Bolingbrook police responded to a 911 call for an attempted suicide from Morphey's home. Since then, he hasn't been home in "several" weeks, his girlfriend, Sheryl Alcox, said Wednesday.

So we have:

10-28
7:21PM-9:21PM, Drew and Tom are at Krispy Kreme, a man leaves for a period of time and returns. After leaving Krispy Kreme, they go to Drews house and Tom moves the container to Drews vehicle.

10PM, Time approximate, Tom tells Walter he may have moved Stacy's body.

10-29, Tom offers Walter money that Drew is supposed to pay Tom.

Aha! I didn't think Walter said he was drunk! It would have been a bone for Brodsky to pick in the media if he had.

To me if you can tell someone has been drinking, even a little they are drunk.

I totally disagree with that. I know many people who I can tell have had a couple of drinks, but they are not considered drunk by the letter of the law.

Good lordy are the cops talking to Martineck? I mean that is huge!

In the first interview Martineck said that when Tom came to him that night he was devastated and frantic. Tom told Walter Martineck not to tell anyone what he had told him, but when Martineck learned about Tom's suicide attempt, Martineck went straight to LE and told them what Tom had told him. That would have been about October 30th......very early in the case.

I think LE acted immediately and interviewed Tom, and then got him somewhere safe. He may be in rehab as others have said, but he may also have police protection. I think Tom may turn out to the the key to all of this.

If TM didn't have a job I think it would be safe to assume he might be in need of some cash. Drew could have tried to give him cash, TM maybe didn't want to take it and DP could have said something like Hey, I'll tell you what. Since you don't want to TAKE the cash, why don't you come help me move something over at the house and this can be payment for your help...

Whether TM would have taken the cash up front or not, DP still would have asked him to help move the container. I think the money thing may have just worked in his favor. That's what my gut is telling me anyway.

Peterson relative defended by friend
Pal says relative was allegedly paid by cop

I personally think that Drew told Tom MUCH more than he shared with Walter about this. I believe that Drew discussed Stacy leaving, his impending divorce, and many other things. I don't think Tom realized how deep he was in until it was far too late, but when he told Walter...he did so out of fear for his life and the life of his girlfriend/family. He knows a LOT more about what was going on that night with Drew and the barrel/tote/container. The money proves it, imo.

I'll drink to that! ;)

I wonder what time Drew, I mean the man, left and returned... That would give us an excellent idea of how far he drove (Shorewood anyone???)

I absolutely disagree with that statement! Maybe his friend merely smelled alcohol on his breath...

Just because you smell it does not necessarily mean he was drunk! It just means he had a cocktail or two!

First, you have to understand the cameras are of the cheap variety. They don't stream, but film in "blocks" of time. According to Mark F., it doesn't show the one man leaving...but it does show the other man sitting alone for a period of time. The exact time the person left isn't known. Still, they can get a good idea of an approximate time the person was gone.

Also, I wonder what Drew did with Stacy's phone when he was done with it. Did he toss it in the trash somewhere? Is it still pinging a cell tower? Or did he turn it off and place it in the barrel with her?

I'm hoping he's dumb and just tossed it somewhere, still on, because then it would be pinging a cell tower somewhere and will give the cops a better idea of where to look. I doubt it though... :(

They mentioned that LE is searching the area of the canals because of the cell records. :waitasec:
