With this understanding of the orientation, directionally, where were the flower bed kids?

We speak the same language when it comes to directions. N,S,E,W are like numbers to me. Just give me the land signs..like flower bed kids. lol moo

According to the map - West, but maybe sorta NW?

Scandi,
But you know, LE has said that Kyron did not leave the school...they have never said otherwise.IMO

All JMO

No, I wasn't aware of that. I wonder if they meant 'not of his own accord' because he obviously was not at the school when they searched? Do you think they have evidence he didn't walk out of the building? It is such a basic thing I've never even considered that point.

It would be out toward the "front" door, which then begs the question how the guy mowing the lawn on the soccer fields could see the kids at all.

The way I interpret the GK's info that "He said he cut the grass on the soccer field between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m." & then reconcile it with his *amended* timeline is that he was actually mowing until 8:30 and then he packed up his equipment & left the school after that - leaving about 9:00.

MOO

Well, I can connect again, but now I'm too tired tonight to read the whole thread!

Here's how I interpret this in regard to me wondering if Kyron was one of the children the GK saw. If he was mowing until 8:30 or so, I think he saw the children outside prior to 8:30. He seemed concerned about them wanting to play soccer. Once he was done mowing, I can't see why he'd care about them coming onto the field while he was loading up and leaving. So, it seems unlikely to me now that Kyron was one of the children that GK saw outside during his actual mowing, which is something I was wondering. There are just too many indoor sightings reported post 8:30 for me to think he was one of the children the GK saw. Sorry if I was the only one wondering all of this and this was already discussed.

I don't really understand why it would take 30 minutes to load up mower, though. 15 even.

Insert little moo cows.

Move north from where the "w" is on Steadfast's map. :D

I just was looking back again at the pics Kimster posted. The flower bed kids were definitely on the west side as Sorrel posted. The GK was also mowing on the west side.

Front door is south.

No, it's right along the side of the building where the soccer field is. The front/south door is where the front of the school is which has a playground with chain link fence around all of it. (The front part was where the Wall of Hope was located).

I think the corner of the bldg where Kyron's home room is is the SW corner of the bldg. The NW corner is the back left corner of the bldg.

But the building lies pretty square with Skyline Rd so everything is off kilter a bit

*setting down my margarita*

Okay, so then the planters and kids were on the same side (the soccer fields he was mowing) as the door which would lead outside if one took the stairs down from Kyron's classroom........right?

Let me know if this blows the margins and I'll put up a link instead.

This is looking from the side door going out to the little garden beds. It goes down to the field. You can see the other set of stairs down the way if you look read hard.

This is facing south-ish. haha. The middle left part of the pic is toward the access road.

This is the building's orientation with compass directions.

Exactly. For all we know right now, Kyron may have been one of the flower bed kids.

Kyron's classroom = west, 2nd floor, right next to stairway to the door - I believe the flower bed kids door that Kimster posted a link to a page or two back.

I think we need a flower bed kids thread.

I remember reading, as well, that Kyron was seen near the South door. Wasn't that factoid attributed to Ky's classmate - TP?

Also - isn't the South door the main entrance @ the front of the school?

I don't think it was TP ....

Here are the references I have for the sightings:

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/still_no_trace_of_kyron_horman.html

"During police interviews Sunday, a student said he last saw Kyron later that morning near the south entrance to the school. That was the last time the boy was seen, Staton said. "

and

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/kyron_horman_search_may_have_s.html

"This is what is hugely disturbing to me," he [Sheriff Staten] told The Oregonian on Saturday. "The fact that you had a child in school and the last time the child was seen is at 9 in the morning -- there are concerns about that lag time. If the child had walked away from the school, the likelihood of finding him under those circumstances would have been extremely high.

"After five hours," the sheriff said, "you know as well as I do how far a child could walk on a roadway."

This is a link to Google Earth, showing the school, with a compass. The school system diagram I posted upthread is correct.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou....60582122,-122.85688298,401.87,9.264,44.997,0

ETA: The picture Steadfast posted above is also correct per Google Earth.

Yes it is correct in lining up the bldg with the compass. But it is also confusing because the building is almost square with Skyline Rd. And the NW, SW, SE and NE corners of the building are still those same corners.

I guess what I'm trying to say is STEADFAST's accurate diagram shows the building as 'due' where as it doesn't lie 'due'. It was not built to 'due' direction. Hope that makes sense.

I don't think it was TP ....

No, the 9am kid wasn't attributed to TP.

Here's Kyron's classroom, with the stairs to the doorway.
