Discussion about Skyline, the groundskeeper, trucks - Looking for Clues

  • #81
Hi, Yes, and I parked right across the street in the church parking lot looking square on and directly across from the east end of the Wall of Hope.

When one looks at a map of the bldg that is tilted to show it lining up with the compass it is deceiving because it really sits square with the road as a visual to the eye. In other words, that SW corner top left school room window is not set back further on the land than the other front windows of the bldg as it appears to be in STEADFAST's diagram. The SE corner of the bldg is not closer to the road. Both corners are square with the road.

If you were standing in front of the church looking at the school you would never dream the bldg was not oriented to true direction. They designed it to line up with the road as they did the church. Hope that helps.

Here's the school with true north/south orientation, including the road and the church. (I live in a house that faces slightly southeast, but we think of the front side as the south side. I don't think people usually look at something with full knowledge of the exact compass directions.)

If Kyron went down the stairs to the soccer field and was heading toward the access road, this is where he would have walked. The GK would have seen him right away if he were looking in that direction.

TY Kimster - that's what I have been thinking (and sometimes posting) - that if Kyron had walked that way, the GK would have likely seen him if he was looking that way.

IMO, since the GK noticed the kids who came out & looked @ the planter beds, it's very likely that he would have seen someone walking the length of that pathway toward the access road - even if he had only glanced in that direction for a second or two.

MOO

They look like fake ones to me! But people do hunt for wild mushrooms around here. :) Not me! I'm too skeered I'd pick poisonous ones or ones that make ya turn into a hippie.

What if he walked in the other direction? North toward the back of the school?

I think those are ornamental mushrooms (as in *not real* - they look to be glass-blown) - of the Amanita type LOL!

Then there's the question as to where people were parking that day. I've read that the buses may have been back there? But I just don't know. You can walk around there without any fences to stop you.

The only area that is fenced in is the front of the school. The rest of it is wide open.

If Kyron or anyone else had not taken the path, but had edged along the school to the access road, could the groundskeeper have seen them from where he was mowing?

Or, maybe I'll answer my own question -- if someone had edged along the outside of the school toward the access road, they would've been in a similar position as the children who came outside to look at the planters, correct?

Someone would've had to have run very, very quickly alongside the school and/or path to avoid being seen by the groundskeeper, right?

Sorry. I meant would the GK have seen him walking towards the back of the school?

My understanding is the buses were on the east side, with the children going in the door with the portico (the one you thought was the south door).

I'm not sure how high the grass was on that day. If it was high, then I think it is possible that Kyron could have walked along the edge of the school and along the chain link fence and down by the trees (seen often in the Wall of Hope pics) and down to the access road which is at the front of the school along the road.

He also could have walked from the garden area to the back of the school in the same way. Free and I walked from the garden to the back of the school with just a few steps. It was really hot out there that day and I remember not minding it because it didn't take long to walk back there. The school really is smaller to me than I had imagined before - the pics make it seem much larger, IMO.

I sure wish we knew where people were parking there that day. Were they letting them park behind the school??? Free and I talked about that as we walked around the circumference of the school.

I'm headed for bed. :bedtime: I've enjoyed sleuthing with you all! :grouphug: I'm looking forward to seeing what Free, PDX and Gwenabob might add because they are more familiar with the school than I am.

Kimster,

How likely do you think it is that someone either met Kyron near or around this location, or that Kyron exited the school and willingly walked to meet at a predetermined location without being seen?

To me, it seems unlikely because of all the family members there for the science fair. I would think cars were parked all over the place. But then again, would it be easier because of the activity??? And not knowing where people were parking, how high was the grass, etc...I just don't know. In hindsight, I wish one of us went there on June 4th and took pics, KWIM?

Off to bed. :blowkiss:

Yes...I know what you mean. Thanks for answering my question. Sleep well!!
