Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui

News reports have appeared concerning a Boys & Girls Club in Maui whose staff member violated Club policy by posting video messages by Club members on social media.

Upon learning of this incident, the Club took immediate action. The staff member was terminated, the parents of the minors whose messages were posted were notified of the incident, and the videos were removed from the social channel.

The safety and protection of the children we serve is the number one priority of the Boys & Girls Clubs. Our organization is committed to the highest standards of ethical behavior and integrity, and does not tolerate inappropriate or illegal activity on the part of any Club staff, volunteer or youth member. All employees and volunteers must undergo a thorough criminal background check.

Oh my!! I wonder if it has to do with the money?? It would be hilarious if one of the felon/con artist supporters took off with it all!!!

If so, that'll teach them to let "the fox guard the hen house"!!

They couldn't abscond with the monies in a trust (assuming the trust actually exists and is set up correctly and donations have been put in the trust).

According to Justice4Travis twitter on March 13 they posted a letter from Jodi (to who I do not know) and it seems Donovan has "locked her out of her twitter" and won't take her calls. She also mentions someone else dropping off the face of the earth in the last 2 weeks. Her "friends" /fans are already dropping like flies.

What's tragic is that JA was livid about Mimi Hall and Mimi wasn't even interested in TA as more than a friend. TA wanted something more but Mimi made it clear that wasn't to be and that was that. I think the first time JA would have learned this would have been during her trial.

I just rewatched her first interview with Det Flores and he is the one that tells her that Mimi wasn't interested. She did seem shocked about that.

I gotcha! *Grumbling at director* I still think the director needs to be held responsible for what goes on there - that's why they're a Director. Overseer responsible for all in that particular domain. I know it's easy for me to say this, but if I were the Director of a particular location I would think (I may be wrong, but I would still think it, lol) I would be ultimately responsible for everything going on there. Even if I wasn't ethical or professional (just saying stuff's possible) I'd be concerned that nothing would come back to bite me. IF they knew what the video was about - that's cause for concern, too. Allowing that video to be made in the first place, forget being distributed, would show a serious lack of common sense. Assuming the director had no knowledge of who ja is, they should have AT THE VERY LEAST done a cursory investigation just out of curiosity. Maybe most people aren't as curious as we are

The blank space above, I was going to use the word 'cults', but I understand why some people get into religious cults in the first place and I feel sad for those people and I would never want to think ill of anyone looking for help or love and acceptance. They're lost and looking for good things (religion is a good thing for most people) and it evolves into weirdness. if it was weirdness from the gitgo, and then who would want to join them? I think they're lured into one thing that turns into something different.

This little ja admiration society is something else entirely and those are the people I refer to as weak-willed, gullible and lacking in common sense. These people are not lost, there's something wrong there.

He would have to have been familiar with the Arias case to have any direct culpability, imo. I say that considering that he may in fact have looked into it and been fed a line by the teacher that it was a legitimate exercise in domestic violence awareness and he may have had no previous experience on which to doubt what he was being told. That said, the fact she was fired and not just reprimanded indicates to me that once it was brought to his attention he looked further enough into it that he saw terminating her a more appropriate action than just a reprimand. In the end it appears the appropriate action was taken, so speculation about the details that led up to it is now secondary. Hopefully there is continued fallout from the parents on whatever responsible parties were involved. If it was any of my kids so used I certainly would be pressing it further.

I just started to read the manifesto, and I hope you get a chance to read it as well, but I just wanted to pop back over here and alert everyone that their eyes could actually roll back into their heads if they do read it. I know what you're saying, though.

We're thinking and feeling human beings and most of us operate thinking others are the same as us- rational, ethical, moral people. Most people are "good" because I have to put a qualifier on it.
