Shock?.. maybe at first it seemed to her that it was someone carrying their child. I don't know.. But she did tell them. And she did see someone carrying a child away.
Then she realized that it could have been maddie and it clicked? I am not Jane so that is just a guess.

And all the other stuff? There is no evidence. Nothing to prove that anyone else was ever in the apartment.

Why did the McCanns lie about the window?

What is the lie?? That it was open? Or closed?? That is not a lie to me. That is just a I thought it was open or closed.

That Kate who stayed in the room's prints were on the sill? That just means she touched it. She was staying there..

Nothing about the window proves anything.

The lie is that they say the shutters were jemmyed open. But they weren't! No damage to them at all. When the police proved that they changed their story to the patio door being left open.

To me that is an assumption. Not a lie. Their daughter is gone, Their thought is probably how did they get in. It was probably just a " they must have jimmied the window!!! "

Most likely they were not thinking clearly and just trying to work it out in their head.

Having been in the situation where my son was missing, I can tell you that you can not think, You don't process well and you just blank. I could not remember things for the 911 operator that I should have known. I guessed at things.

This to me is not a lie. I see it more of a guess..

So both of them saw the same thing. Until they were pulled up on it? Errr no, they both stated that the shutters were jemmyed, the window was open and the curtains drawn back. Why would they BOTH claim that?

Link please to the information. Again, Not something that makes me question their innocence in this.. To me it still sounds like something perfectly explainable.

just say Jane did see her friend's daughter being abducted. What on earth would stop her from telling Kate and Gerry, a policeman, a hotel worker or anyone that she had seen a suspicious man carrying a child? Why would she wait for 24 hours after the alarm was raised?
Read the tapas 7 interviews http://www.mccannfiles.com/id261.html. Jane was staying at the front door of her room with her children inside and watching the door of one of the other couples. By 10:30 to 11, amongst all the confusion, she put together the events and told, Rachael O, who carried the sighting to her husband and the police who were at 5A. So the GNR &/or PJ knew by midnight there had been a sighting. She didn't actually speak to the McCann's until later, 3 or so.

And in that same link, at least two of the men from the group took off running through the streets immediately around the area to try to spot someone or something.

Could I have a link that say's Jane never mentioned it until 24 hours later?

If my child vanished from a hotel room, a room within EAR shot , and one she claimed to SEE... The first thing I'd do is scream my child's name believing she must have ventured outside....especially considering the child did not want to be left alone and had trouble sleeping. This child hid outside and didn't want to go to bed previously.
Why would I leap to she was kidnapped????
That makes no sense.

The reason kidnapping came up first, she knew the child was GONE. She wanted to point attention away from herself.
We have seen that behavior here on Websleuths time after time, from 3 page ransom notes written by "small foreign factions", to "a black man" carjacking and taking babies.

The above is purely hypothetical as I would never leave my babies alone in a hotel room while I left to wine, dine and play with my friends!

Ok, discount the dogs.

Why would the McCanns say the "intruder" had jemmyed the shutter from outside, but the police and Mark Warner staff say that there was no damage to the shutters?

Jemmied was the word apparently used by Gerry Mccanns sister in an interview with the papers. In his original statement and Kate's original statement they both said the door was unlocked but closed, window was open and the shutters raised. This information has never changed. Amy Tierney (an employee) also mentioned the window and shutters in her statement.

Why would they say the window, shutters and curtains all wide open, but the only finger prints on the sill were Kate's?

Please read following info regarding fingerprints on the window sill. Please also note that only the inside of the window was tested.

Kate refusing to answer any of the 48 questions, and both parents refusing a lie detector? If they have nothing to hide why not prove your innocence then the police can explore other avenues.

Lie detector tests are pretty much considered junk science here in the UK. Kate had previously answered questions, noticed a change in tone and then took her right to remain silent. This is not an indication of guilt.

Jeremy Wilkins evidence of meeting Gerry and speaking to him differing significantly from Gerry's account?

How do they differ significantly?

None of the tapas 9 searching for Madeleine that night. And Jane Tanner withholding the sighting of the man carrying Madeleine? That's key evidence!

This is not true they did search it is all there in the statements of the tapas 9, staff and police. Jane Tanner did not withhold the sighting from the police. She told them straight away she did not tell Kate because she did not want to worry her.

http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/JANE_TANNER_RIGATORY.htm

Bringing lawyers in from England within 48 hours?

Why is this so suspicious?

Being in contact with the Prime minister of England within weeks. How many British citizens go missing every year. They have to deal with the consulate, they don't talk personally to the prime minister!

Kate washing cuddle cat! This was supposed to be Madeleine's favourite toy that she slept with, why would Kate wash the scent of her missing daughter from the toy. Other parents keep things for years, even decades to keep a link to their children. Was Kate washing DNA evidence off the toy?

She washed it 70 days after Madeleine went missing so no DNA evidence would likely be left. She wasn't exactly hiding it from people.
http://www.mccannfiles.com/id166.html

And then there are the Smiths from Ireland who as soon as they saw Getty walking and holding his son knew, 100% knew, that the man they had seen carrying Madeleine was Getty. We all walk differently, we all carry children differently. Why would they be framing Gerry, why wait until seeing him get off a plane and walk carrying his child? Surely if they want to frame them they would say straight away that Gerry was the man carrying Madeleine, and not wait all that time? It was because they recognised Gerry's walking style and child carrying style and it shocked them.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. NO. They did not 100% know anything. Martin Smith said he was 60-80% sure it was Gerry based on the way he was carrying a child. That's a 20-40% margin of doubt which is huge! That 'evidence' would never make it into court. Also, it was only Martin Smith (and his wife apparently) there were other people in his party who DID NOT think that the guy they had seen with the child was Gerry.

http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/MARTIN_SMITH.htm

Also, staff members at the hotel place Gerry at the hotel right around the hotel at this time. The margin of time he would have (we're talking about 10-15 mins) to dump Madeleine's body in an area he didn't know very well so that it's never been found would be impossible.

Until you have been there you just don't know. I just went dumb and numb. Freaking out but we couldnt find him and I thought someone had taken my son immediately.

It is one of things you can't figure before you experience it.

My child went missing. We could not find him for about 30 mins or more. It was dark and cold. But my first thought was someone took him. It is just where my mind went.
He was just gone.
So that she felt maddie was taken right off sounds normal to me.

I don't know. But I can guess from my experience that things just start running through their mind and that us what they thought. It is certainly not a lie. I think it was just a thought. Nothing more.

I can tell you that those 30 mins or so were the worst I have ever ever had. You just start going all kinds of places in your mind but I could not remember what he was wearing.

Now when we go somewhere I take a pic of my kids in their clothes that day. I hope I never ever need it again but at least I have an accurate picture and description for police.

It's something that changes you. Even when you find them. I can not imagine what it does to you when you don't.

The dogs did their job right. They didn't give a toss who's car they smelt cadaver in, they just knew they smelt it, ditto the clothing.

Have you ever seen the footage? It is jarring. How anyone can look at that and say those dogs are "mistaken" is beyond me.

Not jarring. Sorry.

All it means is that in the history of the hotel someone left something there that was biological that decomposed. It dies not at all pinpoint to anything else. There is too many people that have been in there possibly bled in there.
Sorry but this is no clear piece of evidence.
The car is a rental. Again no clear line to mccanns.
Just anyone who used the car at any time.
