I don't know if anyone else considers him a celebrity but he's been one of my sports heroes for years...

Doug Flutie says both of his parents died Wednesday, less than hour apart

Former Boston College and NFL star Doug Flutie announced on social media that both of his parents died on Wednesday.

Flutie said his father, who had been ill, passed away in the hospital. His mother died less than an hour later of a sudden heart attack.

"They say you can die of a broken heart and I believe it," he said.

His father Richard was 76 years old and his mother Joan was 73 years old and they met in high school. Together for 60 years, married for 56 years.
