It's hard to know if his story is really changing or if it's just the way bits and pieces are being reported in the media.

OK, here's another opinion. That seems like an awful lot of drinks! Although a large, athletic male could tolerate more than a smaller female, easily. I'd say 5-7 drinks for the young male, depending on the strength of the drink. For the female, it could be as few as 4. Depends also on how much food is in the stomach and how quickly the drinks are consumed.
Yes, my estimate on drinks was high based on the possibility that "resort drinks" are watered. Maybe 2/3 strength?

Factoring the possibility of watered drinks, our estimates might not be that far off each other. Your 5-7 drinks standard drinks, (moderate intoxication?) verse my say, 7-9 watered drinks for moderate intoxication.

Establishing a drink count would even be harder if say, the drinks are actually below standard strength. But.... people could also buy bottles of alcohol off the resort, then spike their drinks.

If it's not true, it sounds like libel.
Maybe not.

The poster clearly states that the post is a: "Plausible theory". He or she does not present it is as: "fact".

Thought her friends had her phone ?
Imo.

Her family says her belongings, including a phone and wallet, were left with her friends, although she's known to always carry her phone.
Rbm.
That's what was reported that I saw as well but I personally couldn't imagine going to beach with someone random in a place I don't know without my phone at least (speaking as someone who is similar in age to her). I thought I saw a small black box (assuming an iphone) in her hand in the footage of them leaving the hotel to walk to the beach? Maybe she was holding something else-- the camera quality isn't great or she gave it to her friends to take back to the hotel when they left? Sooooo many questions... IMO

Just saw a report on local MN news that he’s been interviewed ~ 4 times without proper representation. If they interviewed me 4 times, I’m thinking they’re on to something OR going to try to pin something on me (remember I’m in another country); so I would lawyer up also‼️ Having a lawyer doesn’t imply one’s guilt; it protects one’s right to innocent until proven guilty. I hope he’s innocent & I hope she’s found alive… but sadly this case won’t go both ways.
True.

Makes me also wonder if it's possible if the resort wants to believe someone is at fault, rather than the area itself -- and the resort by default -- is unsafe due to various reasons !
Eek !
People may start choosing somewhere else for their spring breaks or vacays.
Imo.

My question is, if she drowned, why hasn't her body washed up yet? If she was murdered, why hasn't her body been found? Could she possibly still be alive?
I guess it depends upon which way the tides and currents were running. Sometimes things come onto the shore but sometimes things go out towards the sea.

Missing student Sudiksha Konanki seen vomiting before disappearance

This video shows how drunk Riibe was…really drunk. As was Sudiksha but she looked in better shape than he was. He had no business going in any water.

It’s been a long time since I went on spring break but I find it so weird that none of the bar patrons pay any mind to the kids puking their guts out a few feet away.

It's all a puzzle, for sure.
I am not hopeful Sudiksha is alive.
So, so sorry for her family, her dad mentioned she had many goals and dreams for her life. 😢

Still a bit on the fence, but generally it's Occams' Razor (Principle of Parsimony) at play in many cases.
My .02 is that LE are very hesitant to label someone as a 'person of interest', with what looks like not many valid reasons, even though no one is a suspect here.
Makes me wonder (why I'm a bit on the fence) if LE know something we do not ?
Imo.

If they were drinking vodka/mixed drinks and shots of tequila (as he stated during his interrogation), and then both vomiting at the hotel in front of friends (just reported by Daily Mail), then that’s a pretty volatile combo… one would think?

I have a question maybe someone can answer? What kind of hotel keys do they use there? Is it on her phone? An actual key or card? Push button? Sorry if this was already discussed.

He said they had just met who was he in PC with? They need to talk to his friends to see if his behavior changes after he’s had a few drinks.

Has it been said about both parties daily activity that day? I'm not saying they were all together the whole day but what did each group do? Did they eat? When/where/what? I find that even if we are talking about watered down drinks etc, a lot of other things come into play. Full stomach? Atmosphere? adrenaline? You could be home having a glass of wine cleaning/cooking or whatever and it won't hit you like it would with that same glass of wine in a party atmosphere. Empty stomach vs. food in your stomach etc etc etc. Have the friends of both parties stated their whole daily agenda that day? I've read bits and pieces. IMO

Are we sure its SK? Plus man standing beside is the friend in Hawaiwan shirt

Here is a plausible theory that I'm considering.

It is dark and both JR and SK are in shoulder deep water. And in water, JR touches SK in an inappropriate manner.

SK refuses his unwanted touching and JR gets angry where he suddenly holds SK's head underwater.

And in his drunken state, JR thinks he held SK's head underwater for less than a minute, but it is more than several minutes.

Then to his horror, he panics after discovering that SK is not breathing and possibly deceased.

I'm not saying that this is what actually happened, only that this is a possibility to consider.

Any thoughts about this?
I assume this is a very possible scenario.

IMHO

Just catching up on this case, but I listened to this on the way home from work a bit ago. I was concerned with a few things stated by Riibe. Anyone else listen?

Here is something to think about.

How well is the beach area lit at night?

Are there light poles on the edge of the beach or outdoor security lights that shine light directly on the beach at night?

Are there any lights that shine directly on the water?

How far out into the water does the light shine?

And when the power was reportedly out at the hotel, was the beach area and water in total darkness?

Did the hotel have any backup emergency generator to perhaps have minimal light in few certain areas of the hotel?

This article contains more information.
Apparently Josh had “lawyered up” already before more questioning.
This is the first I’m seeing about him saying that he rescued her and that they had been kissing in the ocean.
I’m really curious about what he said to his roommate when he got back to his room around 10:00 am- what he said happened to Sudiksha.
The eight questions that he refused to answer in above article are telling and perplexing.
All imho
He refused to answer certain questions???

Earlier, I missed the part in the article where he said they kissed in the water before being swept away by the waves. That reinforces my theory of him wanting more after that kiss. Zero chance that the guy would have wanted to stop at just a kiss with the bikini clad SK. Bet things went downhill really fast after she pulled back. MOO.
I agree. I find it somewhat alarming that his initial recollection of the events of that evening/early morning initially (at least to my knowledge) did not mention that SK and Riibe had hooked up.

If I give him the benefit of the doubt, then maybe he DID acknowledge the hook-up at first, and it just wasn’t reported?

But I think it’s also possible he deliberately left that detail out of the initial recap he provided to investigators (maybe because he had a girlfriend back in the States and thought that word of the hook-up could make its way back to her, or he was somehow embarrassed to admit he’d hooked up, or tried to, with SK [which kind of makes no sense, as she is a very attractive young woman by almost any measure, but then perhaps she was quite different from his usual “type”?]).

That particular detail just coming to light now (if that is being accurately reported) just reminds me of other cases, where a young woman goes missing, a young man is the last person to see her, and only after a few interviews with law enforcement does the young man casually mention that maaaaybe the two of them had hooked up before she went missing. Most of those cases haven’t had great outcomes for the missing young women, so I hope the similarity I perceive is proved wrong in this case.

wouldn't you ask for a lawyer in this situation regardless of guilt?
Possibly.
But why refuse to answer questions??
Something does Not feel right.

Following.
What a beautiful young lady.
The power going out at the resort does not sound like fun for anyone, yet sometimes people are able to make the best of it and still swim and they'd have food available, even if there'd be no iced drinks available, or anything cold ?

Was Sudiksha possibly swept out to sea ?
My first fear was that she was taken by an unsavory type, but from the articles it sounds like she was with people, but not close together--so if someone grabbed her the others would've heard her crying out for help ?
Imo.
So sorry for her worried family and friends.
A fun vacay turning out like this. 😢
If the power is out, the local internet is probably out, too. Yet people are posting on SM?
