TY!!! This info clears up the confusion regarding whether or not LE asked the family to not talk to the media.

After MR immediately gave media interviews, divulging certain grisly details regarding poor Dylan's remains, he'd already let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. Anything EH said a couple of days afterward (regarding her son's remains) was, IMO, in response to what MR had already said to the media.

I was absolutely stunned when I read/heard MR's recent interviews. It was if he couldn't wait to talk about it (despite LE's admonition to not talk about it to the media). Hearing/reading MR's comments, it was as if he was talking about a complete stranger - not his precious son, whose tragic, scattered bones had just been found.

One would think that if MR truly cared about protecting the investigation, that he would not have gone on an interview blitz, sharing details with the public that not even LE had shared. Based on various articles I've read, LE had only divulged that some bones (not specified) & other items (again, not specified) had been found. IIRC, it was MR who provided the unsettling details regarding what searchers had found. I could be mistaken, but that's what I remember reading/hearing.

Based on MR's recent statements/actions, I'm left with only one conclusion: It appears that MR doesn't care about protecting the investigation. It appears that MR is only interested in trying to protect himself, regardless of how it may affect the ongoing investigation of his little boy's murder. MOO

MR claims he's only interested in "the truth". IMO, if that were true, he would have kept his mouth shut about what LE had shared with him, especially since LE asked him to not talk to the media about it. It seems to me that MR wanted that information out there for a reason, and I believe the reason is more than likely a self-serving one.

He was taunting and "punishing" his ex-wife, with whom he no longer has control.

Ranch, when you've caught up with things a bit, would you give us your thoughts on the search area compared with search areas when you were helping? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the latest developments overall. Thank you.
Ransom was the person who helped with searches.

Five Reasons People get away with Murder

When law enforcement seemingly takes weeks, months and years to track down, catch and prosecute an offender, people are left with many questions... How do dangerous people avoid detection? Why does it take so long to catch them? ...
I spent my career studying the criminal mind—especially the minds of psychopaths, people who lack a conscience. People—especially psychopaths—get away with their crimes for the following reasons:

Just wanted to share this interesting tidbit posted on another case that can/does apply to several cases, not just specifically Dylan's case.. This is the type of info that you can hang your hat on as being fact vs just an opinion/theory of us, armchair sleuths on a message board..lol;)

My deepest sympathies to the family in this so, so sad situation. I suppose it is better for them to know than to never know, but this is surely a tough outcome.

I wanted to ask, did I read that the mother was actually there at the search site when the remains were found? That is so awful.

I had always thought they didn't want the family members on searches like this so that a family member would not be the one to find a body. Is that not the way it is anymore?

I feel doubly bad for Elaine if she was indeed at the site of the discovery of the remains.

A couple more questions:
LE stated that they do know that Dylan actually did arrive at the father's house that night, right? Do we have any idea upon what evidence they base this? It is that some of his packed belongings were in fact there at the house? Or is it from the evidence of the texts/tweets/whatever?

Do we know if dogs ever searched the interior of the father's house? LE had his truck(s) for examination, did they not?

Do we know if the father's computer at the house and his phone were examined? I assumed they were, but has it ever been stated by LE that they were?

I'm still not sure what you mean. Has Mark done an interview since Dylan's remains were discovered? If he did I should watch or listen to it. Is there a link available to this?

It is reported in the following article that MR met with LE on Monday...

I also think he is lashing out at LE for requesting that he visit the site with them nearly everyday since Thursday when they informed him of his son's confirmed death and location of the remains. He went with LE to the site Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and now when another Wednesday search (yesterday) is officially announced, he supposedly has left town. So IMO, he not only is releasing details of Dylan's remains and items found to shock and torment Elaine, MR is also lashing out at LE for putting him in a very tight and difficult position. JMO

ETA here is a link to my post on 6/30 showing MSM articles showing days Mark was requested to accompany LE to the site on Middle Mountain Road or meet with them for interviews.......

LE asked the parents to keep their mouths shut about the articles they found in their search??? That's news to me. Link for that please? First I've heard of this.

It has been linked a few times already in the past 24 hrs. It was in an msm statement by channel 9's Kevin Torres.

Thanks Ghostwheel and no offense taken. I'll just put my foot in my mouth then. :blushing:

I tend to read the most recent posts and news articles.

Wouldn't it be great if there were a way to organize all the info!!!

Yes! I've often thought it would be awesome to have a case fact sheet at the front end of every case and thread, esp with a case like this with 50 some odd threads. If a websleuther gets behind, it is very difficult to catch up, and nearly impossible to find all the posts that convey pertinent, verified information or thought-provoking questions.

If such a fact sheet exists for Dylan's case, I've missed it. And yes, someone would have to create such a sheet, but just think how many posts of repeated material or questions would be eliminated if the facts and questions about a case were compiled in one place? I've seen cases where the same questions are asked over and over by websleuthers new to the discussion, and which could be circumvented by having a cheat sheet, as it were.

Helpful to the newcomers, and helpful to the ongoing discussion, too.

JMO. (And no, I cannot volunteer to be the creator of such a sheet. I wish I could do so.)

Elaine was never present at the exact place they found the remains. She was most likely at the base camp or somewhere 'safe' where she would not see anything like that. JMO

And yes, they did impound his trucks at one point. And they brought dogs to the home but I am not sure if they ever went inside because they were scent dogs, IIRC.

I am not sure what criteria they used to decide that Dylan made it to the home that night.

There are links in posts a page or two back in this thread; I hope this helps!

He went all those days? With LE. Up on the mountain?

I wonder if Dylans backpack (possibly loaded with a brick), is what the dogs kept hitting on at the lake?

It would be interesting to hear from a Websleuther who has criminal defense or prosecution experience. Is this an intentional act to potentially derail a prosecutors case or at least handicap it?

MR certainly seemed to relish in the telling of the gory details, and rushed to do so. My opinion only, of course.

I am more and more annoyed that LE has indicated the community should not be particularly concerned. A child has been found murdered. No one has been charged or even named a suspect. They need to stop being so cryptic, if indeed they have a suspect, or else let the community know that a child killer has been in their community.

What happened to the "up in the air plans" as to where they were going to spend Thanksgiving? I'd assume he was waiting to discuss with Dylan and get his input since he hadn't made the plans in advance.

IMO, he didnt make xgiving plans because he knew he would be "frantically" searching for his missing son.

Let me provide my translation of what LE is saying, and this is MOO. "We are watching every move our POI is making and will arrest them the second the D.A. tells us we have a high probability of a conviction."

But they are saying the same thing with the little girl found in the street in TX...so I am no longer so sure. One LEA or the other is not telling the truth, IMO.

Now, I know I've had enough for the day when I saw this quote in this 6/27 interview ..... significant or not .... more deflection and blame.

"For the loving, caring peacemaker that he was,” Mark Redwine said. “I know that it was difficult for his mom and I to go through such a bitter divorce and I did everything I could to keep him out of the middle of it. He struggled with that and I'm not sure he felt he could talk to either of his parents about that and that's what's also hard."

Mark should never of revealed anything about what was found on the search. It is a crime scene and so why on earth would you let the would be perp have such details ?
